Chapter 1078: With Veronica and Sara
Chapter 1078: With Veronica and Sara
This time, we’re going to the bottom of the pyramid. And I’m not with Candy and we’re not testing the effect of the dress and the gloves anymore.
Surprisingly, today we’re going with Veronica and Sara. Sara is with us because she doesn’t have any class to teach. As for Veronica, she’s just bored.
By the way, after we learned that the dress can change color depending on the wearer’s magic, the girls tried it out in Victoria’s room.
When Victoria wore it, it didn’t change. When Jewel wore it, it turned yellow. When Kayla wore it, it turned brown. When Veronica wore it, it turned green.
The dress only changed to a few colors. Even when Sara tested it, it turned to brown because of her earth magic. Even though she said it herself that her air magic should be stronger than her earth magic.
But the fact that it didn’t change to too many colors was good for Victoria since she had idea how to alter the dress last night. And soon after she returned home this morning, it’s time for us to explore the dungeon.
I told Victoria that she doesn’t have to come today but she insists. Though Veronica coming here is more surprising than that.
"Why are you here again?" I asked.
"I’m bored at home. I know that I prefer to stay at home reading books or sleeping. But sometimes, when it gets too bring, I like to go on quests or do something outside. And since we’re exploring dungeon, I think I’ll do this instead," she said.
"Okay. Then, what’s the plan? We’re going underground now. I haven’t been here with Candy since we were just going up yesterday," I asked.
"What’s Candy’s plan yesterday?" Sara asked.
"She wanted to test herself and wanted to explore the dungeon on her own. So I just followed her and told her if she’s missing anything."
"Then you do that again today. Veronica and I will move together and we will fight the enemies in turn. You just need to look around and see if we’re missing anything," Sara suggested.
Veronica nodded in agreement. I guess I won’t do much again today.
"Okay. Anyway, the monsters here are all zombies. Well, except for the dog yesterday, all of them were zombies. Though I don’t know about anything down here," I said.
"Then wouldn’t it be great if we use this place to train for our future battle against the Death Mage? She should be able to raise zombies with her magic," Sara suggested.
"That’s also what we thought. Well, we’ll think about it in the future. Once the dungeon is explored and the monsters inside are defeated, it will take some times until the monsters reappeared. Once that happens, I will invite other people to come here," I said.
Though I don’t know if it will be the same zombies as before or not. Because the previous ones that Candy defeated were quite strong. Some were able to use magic. But they’re still weaker than Candy.
In the future, I don’t know if it will be the same zombies again who will reappear or it will not be the same. Or maybe the zombies won’t spawn again after we killed them. Then there’s no need to return here again.
The underground part of the dungeon is bigger than the upper part. Even if I use a spear and swing it wildly, there will still be enough room for a monster to pass.
Then the first monsters we encountered are zombies as expected. And they’re monster zombies. So we don’t have to worry about magic.
And the first one to get her turn is Veronica. So she just shoots Wind Slashes at the monsters.
But surprisingly, the zombies actually used magic to protect themselves. That was quite shocking considering the same monster zombie from yesterday didn’t bother to use magic at all.
"The zombies here seem to be smarter and stronger than the zombies above. Be careful," I said.
They might be stronger. But we’re even stronger than them.
Veronica is a master level wind mage. And Sara is a master level in both air element and earth element. So we don’t have to worry about the zombies’ strength.
"Hmm... I think if we have fought enough, we should go back to rest and return another day. We might not be able to clear this dungeon in a day with our limited mana. Though if it’s Roy, I think he can do it alone," Sara suggested.
"How about one of you wear that dress? Then you don’t have to worry about exhausting your mana," I suggested.
"No thank you. Too revealing for me," Sara said.
"I don’t like it as well. Even though I sometimes wore revealing dresses back when I was in the cult, I still don’t like it. At least until the dress has been altered, I won’t wear it," Veronica said.
Damn. I wish I could see her when she was in the cult wearing revealing clothes.
Though rather than revealing, shouldn’t it be tight instead? At least for Veronica around her waist and thighs. That will show her greatest assets to others.
Unless it’s actually some kind of bikini. She’s fine with wearing them when we’re playing near the lake or the beach. But she won’t wear them and walk around anywhere else.
The next turn was Sara’s. And we encountered two monster zombies this time.
Sara created a gun from the earth and use earth bullets to shoot at the monsters. Hitting them right in the head. But they didn’t die right away.
Well, they’re zombies. So they should be originally dead. But that’s not what I meant. I mean that they’re still moving after they got shot.
But after Sara shoots two more bullets at their heads, they finally died. So one bullet is not enough to kill them.
"Next time, I will target their heart. Maybe they will die in one shot. I want to find their weakness before we face the Death Mage," Sara said.
But... the heart is already not beating. I’ll just let her experiment it on her own.
Next is Veronica’s turn. She cleanly cut off the neck of the zombies and they stopped moving right away.
"So the head is still their weakness. But one shot is not enough."
I can hear Sara talking to herself. I’ll leave her be.
Then it’s Sara’s turn. There are three zombies. One of them is human zombie.
Sara shoots the human zombie at his heart. She has better accuracy than me. And I’m envious of that skill.
Anyway, the zombie didn’t stop moving at all. Only when Sara shoots his head twice did it stop moving.
Then for the other two monster zombies, she doesn’t use her gun. She just uses her earth magic to destroy the zombies’ heads completely.
"It’s faster to use earth magic than shooting at them. I can destroy their heads easily with earth magic," Sara said.
So their weakness is the head. That’s nice to know.
"And maybe fire and lightning magic. Yesterday, Candy didn’t attack the zombies’ head much. She just uses her fire and lightning magic. And they worked," I said.
Sara just nodded to that.
So for physical attacks, we have to attack their head or cut off their neck. But for magic attack, we need element that the zombies are weak against.
Isn’t that the same with like... most monsters? Though it’s still good that we learned something.
The zombies here are more than the zombies above. We have encountered about a hundred of them, but we still haven’t reached the stairs leading down even after two hours.
"Roy, how far can you see to the bottom?" Sara asked.
"I can see that there should be six more floors down there at least. There might be more," I said.
"We’ll just go as far as we can today. Once we’re tired, we’ll go home. And Roy will return here tomorrow probably with another group," Sara said.
She then said that it’s best for everyone to have a taste in fighting zombies. So I agreed.
We have explored the dungeon for quite long. And I can see Veronica and Sara are getting tired. But they didn’t say anything about returning.
Though I don’t want them to force themselves. So I stopped them for today.
"Alright, this is a good place to stop. Both of you are already tired. Let’s go home already," I said.
They have fought a lot of zombies today. But we only found a treasure chest. And the item we got was not that good either. So they must feel disappointed and don’t want to return until they find something better.
But I didn’t see any other treasure chest nearby. So I stopped them and suggested to go back home.
Only now they realized how tired they are. So they agreed. And I opened a portal back to Cassau.
They’re not as tired as when they fought the cult for a long time. But I’m sure they know that they shouldn’t force themselves to move. That’s why they agreed to stop exploring.
Tomorrow, who will I bring with me?
