The Only Aura User In Magic World

Chapter 1069: Still Inside a Dungeon

Chapter 1069: Still Inside a Dungeon

Still inside the dungeon where we found the dress that Angela in my previous life wore. I already brought that dress to my room and will have someone appraise it later.

For now, we will continue exploring the dungeon and get all the treasures.

"Roy, there’s no need to share your Aura with me. I think I can fight the monsters here without one," Victoria said.

"Alright. Just come to me when you want to use Aura again," I said.

After facing some other monsters, Victoria can no longer use Aura. But she’s still fighting. So there’s really no need for me to share my Aura with her every single time.

Though when the enemy is stronger than I expected, I will tell Victoria before she fights. But so far, there are no monsters here that probably need Victoria to fight with Aura.

"Roy, what do you think about that dress?" Victoria asked me after she defeated a monster.

"It’s really sexy. I don’t think even prostitutes wear one," I said.

"I didn’t mean that. But I agree. I mean how do you think Angela in your past life have that dress?" Victoria asked.

So that’s what she meant. Well, it’s quite surprising that a dress from here, all the way north of Varadis, is being worn by Angela who was active in Tatrama. But it’s not that surprising if I think about it logically.

"There are various ways it could happen. First, Angela somehow came to Varadis and found the treasure chest as she explored the dungeon. Another way would be because she bought it. There are some hunters in this dungeon. It’s possible that one of them will find the dress and sell it," I said.

"I think so too. Those two are the most likely reasons. What about other reasons? I know that you are the kind who often thinks about the worst situation. I want to hear it," Victoria said.

"You want to hear an assumption of a pessimist? I don’t think it’s a good idea. Also the worst situations are usually the least likely to have happened," I said.

"But I’m interested. Not because I really want to imagine that. But it could be good for the story I’m currently writing. And you’re not a pessimist. You just think of what the worst that could have happened," Victoria said.

Is that so? I guess it is. There’s no pessimist who thinks that he can destroy the cult.

And I don’t think about whether I can do it or not. I just feel that I have to.

"Okay. The worst situation would be that the dress has some kind of quirk that instead of making the wearer stronger, it will make the wearer weaker. And someone deliberately gave it to Angela in my past life so she will be weaker than she really was. Maybe she was already a master level mage but she could only show the strength of an expert level mage," I said.

"...If that’s the case, then there really was no way for Tatrama to protect themselves since the strongest mage at that time was already weak. Though it’s just an assumption. Until we learn about the result of the appraisal, we can’t be sure about it, Victoria said.

"Also, it doesn’t mean that the dress we have is the same as the one that Angela wore in my past life. It could be something with the same design, but different effect. Well, its’ just my past life. We can’t really rely on that anymore since everything has changed," I said.

Whatever the effect of the dress is, it was not important. Though it is important now if it will give great advantage to those who wear it. Then I will have to give it to someone who wants to wear it.

"But can we change the design of the dress without erasing the effect? If so, then it will be your turn to make that dress into something that someone wants to wear. Though if they want to wear it as is, that is fine," I said.

Will anyone wear it though? In my past life, Angela has been through a lot and she was mature enough to not care about other people’s opinion. She’s younger and stronger now. So even she wouldn’t wear it.

We continued the exploration as we chat. I’m guiding Victoria to where I found a treasure chest, and she’s doing the rest.

As usual, she got caught in the traps. But she’s a Black Slime. No traps can kill her. Though she fell into a pitfall for the third time already.

"Oh, it’s quite deep. Roy, is there anything inside this trap?" Victoria asked from the bottom of the hole that she opened because of carelessness.

"Nothing," I said.

Then before I heard her response, I summoned her to my side right away. This is faster than waiting for her to climb up.

"If I find any more pitfall traps, I will trigger the trap so you don’t have to keep falling. Maybe it will be better if you just be cautious at all time. Just because you’re a Black Slime, that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing that can kill you," I said.

"I know. It’s not that I can’t be killed. It’s just that there’s no known reason to make me die yet. And I don’t want to test it," Victoria said.

"Then don’t get caught in every trap on the way!"

We reached the second treasure chest. And Victoria opened it again without a care about getting caught in a trap.

This time, I didn’t complain. Because she can do it and it’s faster than looking for a way to get the treasure without triggering the trap.

"Another poison dart?" Victoria said as her body was stabbed by darts fired from the chest.

"Seems like normal darts to me. So, what’s inside?" I asked.

"Can’t you tell with your Divine Vision?"

"I can. But I thought you want someone to ask you that," I said.

And it’s another familiar thing for us. Something that I encountered a few times already. Etherstone.

"It’s heavy. I can’t get it out," Victoria said.

So I become the one who lifted the Etherstone. And I can’t even use Aura to lift it. I just throw it into a portal connected to the Blacksmith.

"Found it. For you," I said to the Blacksmith before closing the portal.

It’s hard to see through Etherstone with my Divine Vision. It’s because Divine Vision is still another way to use Aura.

If my Aura ability was something like Victoria’s, to have wings on my back and fly, then it will be dangerous when I make contact with Etherstone. Because my wings will disappear. So it’s good that my Aura ability is related to sight.

"We have quite a lot of that thing. What do you want to do with them?" Victoria asked.

"I don’t know. Maybe one day when we have enough, you or other girls can cover the wall with Etherstone if you want to get some privacy," I said.

Although they are already used to me able to see everything with Divine Vision, maybe they will be happier if they know that there’s a place where they can get real privacy away from my Divine Vision.

"Let’s go to the next treasure chest! So, where should we go?" Victoria asked.

"Actually, that chest is on the other side of that wall. Do you want to break that wall or walk the long way around?" I asked Victoria.

With my Divine Vision, I can see through the wall and see another treasure chest right behind the wall. If we destroy it, we can get it right away.

"What about other people in the dungeon? Now that we know that we can get Etherstone from dungeons, don’t you think that it’s possible that the cult has a lot of treasure hunters to get more Etherstone? Maybe the other people here are from the cult," Victoria said.

...That’s right! I didn’t think about that!

"Hmm... if we walk, there’s a chance of us meeting someone on the way. But either way, we will meet anyway as long as we’re all still in this dungeon. So, should we destroy the wall?" I asked.

"I’ll do it."

Victoria then offered her hand to me. I grabbed it and shared my Aura to her through our hands.

After that, she created a hammer and destroyed the wall with it.

Another reason why dungeons are dangerous is because earth mages can easily alter it. Especially when the dungeon is a cave. And if there are people inside as the earth mage altered the dungeon, they might be trapped until they die.

But the rocks, walls, and most things in the dungeons are harder to manipulate than regular soil. So earth mages sometimes have problem in a dungeon. But if it’s just destroying a wall, they can do it even if they’re advanced level mages.

And that’s what some people in this dungeon are doing. They destroyed the walls so they can move easily. So it will be easy for us to meet because of it.

Though that’s for later. Now, it’s time to open the third treasure chest of the day.

But it was disappointing because it’s only filled with magic stones. I already have a lot. And I don’t need them anymore because we have spirits helping us. But they can still be sold.

And our exploration continues. We will meet another party soon. I hope they’re not with the cult.
