Chapter 1039: Beam Attack
Chapter 1039: Beam Attack
’Master, I’m done here.’
’I’m also on my way!’
That’s what my familiars told me via telepathy. Graham was done with what he needed to do in the other mountain, and Shelia is already on her way to help me fight.
So I summoned Graham and Shelia at the same time. Because at this time, there are several flying monsters approaching us in high speed.
They all must be the enemy’s tamed monsters. They can fly and have engines like the previous wyvern.
As for the previous wyvern, after falling in circle, the mage jumped off of its back and fly on his own. And the wyvern couldn’t control its body. So it fell after I destroyed one of its engines.
The mage then called more of his tamed monsters. And I also got some news from Graham and Shelia. So we’re both calling our reinforcement.
"Is that him? He looks pretty strong," Shelia said.
"Graham, heal Shelia. Her wound hasn’t healed completely," I said to Graham.
She had just finished her battle with a strong opponent. And even though her wounds are already healing, they’re not completely healed yet. That’s why I asked Graham to heal her.
"The other monsters are not that strong. They just got some extra boosts from those things on their wings. Compared to the training with Pawzer, it shouldn’t be hard," Graham said.
"Be careful about that man though. He’s not only a master level mage in both wind and lightning element. His fighting skill is almost equal to the fighting skill of the monsters in the village," I said.
"Then I’ll be the vanguard!" Shelia said as she runs toward the enemy.
"...Graham, let’s support her while also defeating the other monsters," I said.
Meanwhile, the mage who is fighting Shelia right now looked confused as he looked down to the ground. To where the tortoise was.
Is he giving the tortoise some orders? And the tortoise is not obeying his orders? I guess Pawzer has already approached the tortoise then.
"You’re good! But you won’t win!" Shelia said.
"You will never defeat me!" the mage shouted.
The fight continues. The wyverns with engines were annoying. But I can use Blobbygun to destroy their engines. Graham also used his light magic to hit the engines. Though it took some time for us to defeat them. And once we defeated some, more wyverns appeared.
"HEY! COME HERE AND TRANSPORT THESE KIDS AWAY!!!"
All of a sudden, I heard the loud shout from the Kaiser Dragon. He asked me to transport some kids away?
I don’t know. But it should be related to the Kaiser Tortoise.
"Graham, I’m going down. Ride on Ray’s back so you can save your mana. And continue supporting Shelia," I said.
"Understood."
I then jumped down from Ray’s back. I could see Graham flew and landed on Ray’s back. Continuing his battle with him.
"What do you think Andro wanted you to do?" Victoria asked. She’s in her slime form falling with me.
"Something important related to the tortoise," I said.
Then I went down and transported some tortoises to the Monsters Village together with Pawzer. I’m going to ask for his explanation later. Though it seems like one of the tortoises who was bigger than the others could be the next Kaiser Tortoise.
Does it mean I have two future Kaiser monsters in the village?
Soon after, I returned back to where Graham was. He recovered a bit of mana and jumped away from Ray’s back when he noticed that I have returned.
And I can see Shelia was hit by lightning and is falling down from this height. She lost her consciousness from that lightning magic.
So I opened a portal to where Shelia is and put her on Ray’s back. Once she recovered, she will want to fight again.
"What were you doing? Why is the tortoise disobeying me?" the mage asked.
"You’re a bad guy. That’s why the tortoise disobeying you. You should know that since even the Kaiser Dragon who is not tamed or contracted with me still obey me. Simply because you’re the bad guy and I’m the good guy," I said.
"...Doesn’t matter. I will kill you all!"
But as soon as he said that, I could see another beam magic from below. It’s the Kaiser Tortoise again.
I was about to dodge, but then I realized that the beam attack is smaller than before. Not only that, it was also targeted not toward me. But toward the mage. The master of that Kaiser Tortoise.
"What?!"
When the mage noticed that beam, I used my new power. It will reach here soon. But that mage should be able to dodge it.
So I aimed Blobbygun at him while also told Graham to shoot his light magic toward the mage. Making him unable to dodge that beam.
Graham’s attack was easy to dodge. But I need that to distract the mage.
While I shoot precisely. Using my new power to see things in slow motion, I predicted his move. And when he’s about to leave the area where the beam will pass, I would shoot him. This way, he was unable to get out.
"FUCK! FUUUUUU—"
Just like that, the beam hits the mage directly. There’s no part of his body that was not hit.
But he was still quick enough to prepare barriers with his magic and also made some wyverns flew below him to reduce the damage. So he didn’t die.
But what comes out after the tortoise’s attack is over is a burnt man. He’s already dying.
"Uh... what was that?" Shelia said as she regained her consciousness.
"The Kaiser Tortoise attacked his own master," I said.
"Is it over?" Shelia asked.
"He’s not dead yet. But this way, it will be easy to capture him for interrogation. You can go back into the shell and help the others. I’ll take care of him myself. Graham, you can go as well," I said.
My familiars then left me. Leaving me with Ray and Victoria.
I approached the mage and tried to put on the Magic Restricting Collar around his neck. But he grabbed my arm to stop me.
"You don’t have enough strength in your grip, dude. Just give up," I said.
But he didn’t give up. He’s still grabbing the dagger in his other hand. And slowly, he tried to stab me with it.
There’s no strength in him anymore. I doubt he could even hear me.
So I just grabbed the knife and put it inside Blobbybag so it won’t affect my use of Aura. Then I wrapped the collar around his neck.
Then, using the last bit of his strength, he pulled out a hidden needle and tried to pierce his own neck with it. The last attempt he could make. Suicide.
But I stopped him again. The needle was another Etherstone weapon. So I put it inside the Blobbybag as well.
"You’re going to come with me like it or not. With your injuries, I doubt you can fight back. You won’t die soon as we will heal you. Not to the point where you can fight back. Just enough for you to speak," I said.
After restraining him using Blobbyrope, I opened a portal and throw him inside. With this, the most troublesome enemy is already out of this battle.
"He’s gone? Did you kill him?"
All of a sudden, Pawzer appeared and asked me. He’s stepping on air so he can fly.
"I threw him into a Magicless Area. And his injuries prevent him from fighting back. He is still the master of your friend, but he won’t be able to give your friend orders anymore. He’s free," I said.
Even though I said that his friend is free, he doesn’t look happy. He just slowly sat behind me.
"...Even if he’s free, he’s dying because of the modification. He won’t live long," he said.
Then as we descend from the sky, he told me about everything he heard from the Kaiser Tortoise.
I was right in thinking that one of the tortoises I transported was the next Kaiser Tortoise. Those tortoises are his children.
"Since he’s dying, why don’t you grant him his dying wish or something? Make him die happy," I said.
"...His wish was for his children to grow well. Of course I will help with that," Pawzer said.
"Sigh... For now, let’s get down and talk with him one last time. Let him stay with his friends in his death. At least that’s better than a lonely death," I said.
"...I guess I’ll do that," Pawzer said.
But he didn’t jump from Ray’s back at all. Still riding with me.
So I have to go down as well. And after a while, we landed on Andro’s back.
With the Kaiser Tortoise extending his neck, we’re now facing each other.
"You are the Cat and the Dragon’s friend?" the Kaiser Tortoise asked.
"Yes. My name is Roy. And in case you don’t know, the Dragon’s name is Andro. And for the Cat, I just gave him his name last month. His name is Pawzer," I said.
"Oh, cool names."
This is it! He’s someone who appreciated my naming sense! I finally found one other than those whom I gave names directly.
If only we have longer time to talk. But I guess that’s not the case. The battle is not even over yet. There are still battles inside his shell.
Isn’t it painful?
