Chapter 1038: The Kaiser Tortoise’s Last Wish
Chapter 1038: The Kaiser Tortoise’s Last Wish
Roy and the mage he fought were already flying so far above. But the battle didn’t just happen over there.
Andro and the Kaiser Tortoise also faced each other. But unknown to Andro, the Kaiser Tortoise was totally aware of what he’s doing.
Andro thought that the Kaiser Tortoise has been totally under the control of his master. But the Kaiser Tortoise still managed to hold a bit of his consciousness.
Even then, the Kaiser Tortoise was not able to disobey the order of his master. So he had no choice but to fight Andro.
’Dragon! Don’t kill me yet! I have something that I need to do! Shit! If only I can relay a message for a moment to him, then I don’t mind being killed,’ the Kaiser Tortoise thought.
He was totally aware of the one whom he was fighting. The Kaiser monsters knew each other. But most of the time, they never crossed each other’s line. They never fight at all.
That’s why the Kaiser Tortoise was confused to why Andro, the Kaiser Dragon, was fighting him. But when he saw that someone fought his master, he realized that Andro’s companion was the one who is fighting the one who tamed him.
He felt it in his back that there are huge battles inside. Ever since the inside of his shell was modified, it was painful for him every time someone walked or even just moved slightly. And now that there’s a battle under the shell, he felt how painful it is.
He’s enduring the pain. And that took everything he could muster. That’s why even though he wanted to talk with Andro about something, he couldn’t do it. And his master also forced him to get rid of Andro.
The Kaiser monsters don’t really get along with each other. But they’re not enemies. So they never really fought.
The Kaiser Dragon just flies in the sky. The Kaiser Tortoise just sleeps in a desert. And the Kaiser Whale is deep in the ocean and rarely would come out.
So those three only meet once in a while. It was even rarer for the tortoise to meet the whale. But it happened once in a while when the tortoise extended his neck so far from the desert as he looked at the ocean, while the whale surfaced near the land.
The only connection they have with each other was Andro. It’s because he can fly anywhere. So Andro was usually used by the other two Kaiser monsters to relay messages to each other. Only if Andro could find them.
Even with his mental strength as a monster that has been living for thousands of years, he couldn’t disobey his master’s order.
His body has been destroyed and remade by the companions of his master. He is enduring the attack from the Kaiser Dragon. And there’s also this thing that he has to do which takes most of his mental strength.
His brain has to be triggered with something stronger so he can use the last bit of his mental strength to fight against his master’s order.
And that’s when Roy brought his master away in the sky. Roy was riding on Ray’s back and the mage was riding on an engine powered wyvern. They flew so high and fast.
And that’s enough time for something to trigger the Kaiser Tortoise’s mind. The werecheetah, Pawzer. The monster that Andro and the other Kaiser monsters called as the Cat.
With his extreme vision, as soon as he saw that the mage who made him so afraid were taken away by Roy, he uses his extreme speed and run toward the tortoise’s head as the Kaiser Tortoise was about to shoot another blast magic toward Andro.
"Tortoise! Hey, Tortoise! Wake up! It’s me, your friend! The Cat!" Pawzer said.
The Kaiser Tortoise paused for a bit. But he didn’t try to stop his attack.
"Move, Cat! I’ll shoot him once more. Let’s see if this will wake him up," Andro said.
While the Kaiser Tortoise was hesitating, Andro shoot his breath attack toward the head of the Kaiser Tortoise.
It’s not as hard as his shell. But Kaiser monsters are all strong naturally. So even when Andro used his full power, the Kaiser Tortoise didn’t die even though his head was hit directly. But it’s still more than enough to give some damage.
That attack shook his brain and recovered the Kaiser’s Tortoise’s mental strength for a bit.
"Cat... and Dragon as well. I have something I need to tell you before I lost my mind again," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
"Just endure it. The guy fighting your master is strong. He will surely defeat your master," Andro said as he lowered his altitude so he can talk to the Kaiser Dragon easily.
"It doesn’t matter even if I’m freed. I have been destroyed. My body won’t be able to endure it for long even if I’m free from that guy’s control. I will die sooner or later anyway," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
"...I see. I guess that’s how it will end up. As your friend, I will kill you," Pawzer said.
"And from how you said it, it seems like you won’t just die because of how they have been treating you. It’s something else, right? Tortoise, you already have a descendant who will be the next Kaiser Tortoise?" Andro asked.
"You’re right, Dragon. And from how our fight went, I guess you also have the next Kaiser Dragon born already," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
"Right. I told that guy over there that I don’t mind dying. But he said that I should endure it a bit longer. Though for you, I don’t think that’s the case," Andro said.
"If your wish is for us to protect the next Kaiser Tortoise, we can do it. There’s a village of monsters that the guy who is fighting your master created. The next Kaiser Dragon is living there as well," Pawzer said.
"...Can I trust him?" the Kaiser Tortoise asked.
"At least he’s stronger than me already," Pawzer said.
"If he uses everything, I think he could be stronger than me as well. Don’t worry. If we both tell him about the next Kaiser Tortoise, he will help. If you’re worried about the next Kaiser Tortoise to be tamed just like you, you don’t have to worry as well. Any monsters that have been tamed or contracted in that village did so because of mutual agreement," Andro said.
The Kaiser Tortoise stopped a bit before continued talking.
"I can’t trust someone I haven’t talked to. But the two of you have trusted him. I will trust you two. I swallowed my son. He’s in my stomach. I had to do it or that guy will try to tame my son as well. I can control my own digestive system so I made sure that he won’t be digested," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
"Then I will hit your stomach as strong as possible so you can vomit him out of there. It might not take long, but you should still be able to talk with your son for a bit," Pawzer said.
"Wait!"
Before the Kaiser Tortoise could stop him, Pawzer is already below his stomach. Then using his power, he made a fist and punched the stomach of the Kaiser Tortoise.
Pawzer didn’t hold back his strength at all. And soon enough, after Pawzer returned back to the head of the tortoise, the Kaiser Tortoise vomited out five tortoises. One of them is bigger than the others. That’s the next Kaiser Tortoise.
All the vomited out tortoises were hiding their limbs in their shell. And as soon as they were out, they quickly let out their limbs. And the next Kaiser Tortoise quickly talked to his father.
"Father! I heard everything from the inside! Thank you for protecting us!" the future Kaiser Tortoise said.
"My children. Follow these two... friends of your father. They will protect you until you can fight on your own," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
"...I never thought that there would be this many. Dragon, can you put them on your back?" Pawzer asked Andro.
"They will be found soon after. Wait here for a moment."
Andro then took a deep breath. It’s as if he’s going to shoot another breath attack. But that’s not the case.
"HEY! COME HERE AND TRANSPORT THESE KIDS AWAY!!!"
Andro’s shout was so loud it made everyone inside the Kaiser Tortoise’s shell vibrated.
That shout was for Roy. And soon enough, Roy alone falls from the sky and landed next to Pawzer.
He looks around. And before Pawzer could say anything, he opened a portal back to Monsters Village.
"Pawzer, you go with them. I will seek for your explanation after this battle is over," Roy said.
The tortoises looked at Roy with hostility. It’s because humans are the reason that their father was suffering.
"My children, you can decide whether you can trust him or not later. But the Dragon and the Cat are my friends. I trust them. And they trust him. For now, please go to safety," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
The tortoises then had no choice but to enter the portal. Then as the last and the biggest tortoise among the five entered, he looked at his father for one last time.
"I’m sorry that I can’t watch you grow. Be well."
With his farewell message, Roy closed the portal. Now the five tortoises are safe in the village.
"I still have a bit of strength left. Then there’s something I can do," the Kaiser Tortoise said.
