Chapter 1014: They Live a Nomadic Life

Chapter 1014: They Live a Nomadic Life

’Victoria, can you hear me?’

Victoria is somewhere else. I don’t know her exact location but I can feel her.

I threw her into a portal where the members of the cult were retreating. Well, not into a portal directly. But attached her to someone who entered the portal.

I’m pretty sure that she can hear my telepathic message. But she didn’t answer. This means that even though she could hear me, she’s in no position to answer.

I don’t think anyone noticed her over there. Because if she had been caught, she would contact me right away and asked me to summon her or just open a portal to grab her. But she didn’t.

This means that she’s safe right now. But she’s not in a location where it’s safe to make a contact with me even via telepathy.

Maybe there are just too many people there. And if she moves, they will notice. So she just has to wait until it’s safe to contact me.

Meanwhile, I need to take care of things on my end. Helping the countries that were under attack while also hoping that I can find more of the cult’s communication bases. Though I think they might have escaped already from their base after not getting any order from the main base.

I contacted Albert that Victoria is in somewhere where the previous cult members were retreated to. I don’t know where it is, but it might be where a lot of members of the cult were staying.

So once we get some news from Victoria, we might have to go there for battle right away. That’s why Albert and other kings will contact some powerful mages, all of them are master level, to help me with the fight. Leaving only a few behind for security purpose.

And so I brought Kayla, Sara, Jewel, Candy, Wendy, Kron, and the other master level mages to Monsters Village. So I can transport them to where Victoria is together with the monsters.

Shirley wanted to join. But her presence in the capital will help to ease the citizens’ worry after the previous attack. So she couldn’t come.

Then there’s also the Principal of the school where Wendy and I visited before. He also said that he wanted to join. But when he faced an ordinary master level mage who had just reached that level, he lost quickly. So he realized once again how weak he was and he will only be a hindrance if he comes.

Everyone is ready. We just need to wait for Victoria to send a signal. But we don’t know when.

"Shelia, Graham, Crabbe, and even Ray. You can roam around wherever you like and tell me if there’s anything you find suspicious. Do not engage in battle if you find the enemy. Just tell me where you are," I said.

Those four are my familiars. If Victoria sends the signal that we can go there, I can just summon them without having to open up a portal.

"Then I’ll go to Earth!" Shelia said.

"I’ll go to the sea," Crabbe said before jumping into the lake in the village that is connected to the sea.

"I’ll stay here and wait," Graham said. As expected of him.

As for Ray, he didn’t answer me and just run into the sky. He might not be able to talk, but he can still send a signal using telepathy if he ever in distress.

The rest, we just waited in the village. We don’t know how long we have to wait, but this might be our biggest mission so far.

It’s a shame that Angela is not here with us. I hope she will reach master level soon.

Crabbe found a rather powerful monster in the sea. I told him that he shouldn’t engage in battle, but he asked me to fight since he said that the monster could enter the village because it’s rather close. Must have been swimming from another part of the sea then.

I told him that he can fight it if he’s confidence that he could win. And he replied positively.

As for Ray, he can outrun almost anyone. So even if there’s an enemy chasing after him, I don’t need to worry.

But for Shelia, there’s nothing I can do. She’s already engaging in battle. But the good news is that it’s just some random monsters. Not strong ones.

Well, I already expected that from her. At least I know that if she ever finds anyone suspicious, she will contact me. If she just finds monsters, she won’t contact me.

Finally, the day after Victoria left, she contacted me.

’Roy, I’m here. It’s safe now so you can come here. Alone if possible so you can check the area first,’ Victoria said.

I told the others to wait in the village before I left. Then I opened a portal to a desert where Victoria was.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"A desert. The exact location, I don’t know. Maybe it’s the desert that we crossed in the past together with Celestine when we’re going to Consenza for the first time," Victoria said.

We did go through the desert. And it was Celestine who used her earth magic so we can surf through the desert easily.

But whether this is that desert or somewhere else, I don’t know. Maybe this is in Monsters World.

"Victoria, what about those cult members?" I asked.

"They’re living a nomadic life. They moved around and made a camp here. And after they got found out yesterday, they moved to over there. Just to be safe, I waited one hour until they left to contact you. If we move fast, we can reach them," Victoria said.

"They live nomadic life, huh? Keep moving around? Then I don’t think that the Evil God and that Death Mage from before will be there," I said.

"Probably. But it doesn’t mean that they don’t have anything related to the Evil God. I’m sure they have something. Maybe even another summoner with familiar close to the Evil God like the previous Archbishop who cut off your hand," Victoria said.

There’s also that door-like monster that is probably the Archbishop’s familiar. If we kill the Archbishop, then the contract should be gone. But the Evil God and the people around him must be strong enough to face that door monster. And it will be another summoner who makes a contract with that door monster.

That’s also one reason why we kept the Archbishop alive. We didn’t gain enough information from him. But just making that door monster stay as his familiar should be good enough as hindrance for the cult.

Though if they can breed that kind of monster, then what we did is pointless.

In this desert, I checked everything with my Divine Vision. Then opened a portal to the Monsters Village to get Spot here. I also told the others to get ready.

I found the cult members. They’re moving so fast. The weakest among them is expert level mages. But they rode horses and other tamed monsters to move quickly in the desert. Still no match against Spot’s speed though.

"Will we attack now?" Spot asked.

"I just told Albert about this. And he asked the other Kings and the Strategist if they have any suggestion. They just said to keep following them until they stopped completely. They must be going somewhere for a reason," I said.

"Then we still won’t fight. How many of them are there?" Spot asked me.

"...About ten thousand of them," I said.

"No. It should be more. Because about half of them moved first before the rest who rode monsters. So there could be twenty thousand," Victoria said.

"Then we’re totally outnumbered. Well, there’s nothing different than usual though. The ones who moved first must be wind mages. Spot, do not remove your invisibility at all," I said.

"Understood. I think this battle will take long to conclude. I hate desert. The air is so dry. I don’t think the Crab People and we serpents will be able to use a hundred percent of our power in this fight if you decided to fight in the desert," Spot said.

"I guess that’s true. Maybe I should open a portal to the bottom of the sea as a greeting before the battle," I said.

I still have some Blobbies at the deepest part of the sea. The pressure is no joke as it could kill anyone.

Opening that portal, I can make a lake from the sea water. That way, the sea monsters can fight well.

I followed the cult members and after it turned dark, they stopped. But I don’t think that it’s their final stop.

"Spot, let’s stop here. We should be far from their detection if they have master level earth mage. We will rest here. Do you want me to return you back to the village?" I asked.

"Please. It’s so dry here," Spot said.

"Then I will ask for your help again tomorrow. Rest well," I said.

Where will they go? Will it be somewhere close to the Evil God? I hope that’s the case.
