Chapter 1015: A Mountain that is not a Mountain
Chapter 1015: A Mountain that is not a Mountain
The next day, I continued to follow the caravan. These people seem to be used in traveling in the desert. Who knows how long they have been hiding there?
Albert, Kayla, and the others called me a few times to ask me where I am. But I can only say that we’re in the Monsters World.
I did not know where we were before. But after I asked Victoria to check where her clones were, she sensed that there were more of her clones in the moon after I fly a bit to the space. Which means this is the Monsters World since most of her clones were with the people on Earth.
We should have sent four groups to travel this Monsters World. They haven’t met any other human being. Only one of them found the remains of human’s trace. And that was the base that I destroyed in the past.
That’s why we still can’t tell if this desert is in the north, east, south, or west of the village. But at least we know that this is in Monsters World.
There are several deserts on Earth. So if we’re on Earth, the others might be able to find out where we are and reinforcement can arrive instead of just getting me or Lina to use portal. But unfortunately, this is the Monsters World So we can only fight with what we have.
They move in the desert very fast to one direction ever since yesterday. It means that this desert is so big. I wonder where they’re going to.
I asked the four groups that explored this Monsters World. I gathered them all last night when the cult members were resting. And we drew a map started from the Monsters Village.
None of them have crossed any desert. So it’s hard to tell where we are.
But whatever the case, we will fight. That’s our mission.
"Look at that mountain! Is that where they’re going?" Victoria pointed at a huge mountain in front of us.
Rather than mountain, it should be a dune. Well, maybe it’s a mountain.
We can see that mountain directly with our eyes even if I don’t use Divine Vision. But even when I use Divine Vision to see it, I could only see the mountain became bigger. It means that even with my Divine Vision, my sight still can’t reach that far.
That mountain is much bigger than the Spirit Mountain. And the Spirit Mountain is already so big.
Even after the cult members traveled for another day, they still haven’t reached that mountain.
And tonight again, I summoned the four groups that traveled this world.
"It’s dark, but there’s a really huge mountain over there. Does any one of you ever see a huge mountain? It’s even bigger than the Spirit Mountain," I said as I pointed at where the huge mountain was.
Three of them shook their head. But one of them thinks that we’re near his position.
"Our group is the one that travels to the south. And we encountered a rather kind tribe of angels on our journey. They told us the story of how they used to live in a huge mountain in the desert. Until a group of monsters from various species attacked and they had no choice but to leave. Maybe it’s that mountain. I need to go further south to confirm it," he said.
"You can continue your journey however you want. I’ll go check that mountain tonight while the caravan is stopped. Let’s go to your place," I said.
Then I returned the other three men to their group and followed this man to his group.
The caravan shouldn’t be moving until the sun is up. So it’s fine to leave a Blobby far from where the cult members are resting and return there before the sun is up.
Though when I transported to where the group that moves to the south rested, it’s still afternoon. The sun hasn’t set yet.
"South is that way. We will also go that way tomorrow with our own pace," I said.
"Okay. What about the kind angels? Do you remember where they were? I want to see if Graham and the other angels can recruit them," I said.
After that, I got Graham and few other angels here and told them about the kind angels. If they are kind, they might help us with healing rather than fighting. Because it seems like right now, we have more angels willing to fight rather than stay behind to heal.
"Then I will try to recruit them. What if they don’t want to join us?" Graham asked.
"Let them be. Just tell them that if they encounter any human, don’t trust them. It’s to make sure that they will not join the enemy," I said.
Graham and the angels he brought left first to where these agents met the kind angels.
The agents told me that they had tried to recruit them. But the angels didn’t even want to listen when the agents told them about some conflict. Seems like those kind angels only want to live in peace.
But if it’s Graham who recruits them, an archangel, then the result might be different. Though Graham is not a pure archangel. Only half.
Now, it’s time to see the mountain.
Riding on Spot still invisible, we fly through the sky quickly to reach where the kind angels used to live. The huge mountain.
"I don’t think it’s the same mountain. Moving south doesn’t really change the time zone. We should be moving east," Victoria said.
It was dark in the desert before. But now, the sun is just about to set. So there’s some time difference between the two locations.
"But those caravans were moving west, right? Maybe it’s the same place. Spot, fly as fast as you can," I said.
Even after telling him to move as fast as possible, it took us three hours to be able to see the mountain. But that mountain is not anywhere near a desert.
"I guess this is not the mountain they were going for. But let’s be careful and check the mountain. Those agents said the kind angels were attacked by various monsters. Maybe they’re the tamed monsters of the cult’s tamers," I said
"So what will you do if that’s the case?" Victoria asked.
"Mark the place with Blobbies, then tell the agents about it. They will investigate it themselves. If this is really another base of the cult, then we will fight them in the future. For now, let’s put a Blobby in a safe place," I said.
After I marked some places with Blobbies, I rode Spot again and check the mountain from the sky. And there really are humans there. With a lot of tamed monsters probably.
But it didn’t end there. Far away from here, I see in the distance that there’s a familiar huge mountain. Bigger than this one. That should be where the cult members we followed were going.
"Then if we want to attack this place, we might need to attack the other place at once. How many people are there in this mountain?" Victoria asked.
"A lot. Probably more than a hundred thousand of them. Then there’s also that other mountain. The worst part is that we still don’t know if the Evil God is here or not," I said.
As we were about to return, I saw two mages flying from the other mountain to here. I told Spot to fly higher to avoid them.
Seems like they didn’t notice us at all. That’s good.
Those two mages landed in the mountain. They must be the messengers between these two mountains. Or just responsible for transporting something between the two mountain.
"I think that’s enough. Let’s go back. It should be dawn soon and the caravan will move again," I said.
I didn’t bring Spot back because the desert is dry. I will bring him with me again after a bit of rest for Spot.
In the morning, after breakfast, the caravan moved again. And they’re going to the huge mountain in the desert.
"How could there be a mountain in a desert and not a dune? There must be something in that mountain."
After a few days, we finally reached where I can see the mountain better.
"It’s really huge. Roy, where are you looking at?" Victoria asked.
While Spot and Victoria looked at the huge mountain in front of them, I looked below.
That is not a mountain. That is the back of a giant monster. And I can barely see the feet of the monster.
"This is crazy. The size of this monster is comparable to Andro. It’s a giant... something. Perhaps a turtle? Whatever it is, if we need to fight the cult here, we will need Andro’s help," I said.
When I look closer at the mountain, I finally see the inside. And it’s a living being. A monster. Just like Andro.
If I had never meet Andro, I would be confused. But since I have met him, I know that the red water flowing inside the mountain is actually the blood of the monster. Flowing in the monster’s vein.
"Let’s retreat. It’s impossible for us to face them without Andro," I said.
And Andro’s lifespan is nearing its end. So if we want his help, we have to do it fast.
