Chapter 1013: Raiding a House

With the help of the monsters, we found more of their communication bases. And not only that, we also found several more of those Magicless Areas. And none of them were as big as the Magicless Area where I found the master level mages village.

Some of them were as small as a house. Maybe we can somehow artificially make those Magicless Areas one day. So I told the monsters who found those places to leave one Blobby nearby so I can go there anytime I want.

Obviously, not now. I’m still busy with looking for the main base of their communication center. Though it won’t be surprising if the people there have already escaped.

The monsters didn’t do anything special to the bases they found. Once they found those bases, they attacked and killed the people there. So it’s normal if their main base has somehow got the news that their communication bases were under attack.

As for me, I don’t think that the people in the bases I found could do that. I killed them before they could do anything. Well, it was mostly Spot or Kayla.

I also found two bases underwater. But Spot is a sea serpent. Water is his territory.

Crabbe also found some underwater bases and destroyed them. Even if they have water mages, they’re no match against multiple Crab People. Especially when they’re underwater.

And finally, after around 24 hours, we managed to locate the main base. Or at least this is where it should be.

It is a rather huge city in Tatrama. Smaller than Cassau, but bigger than Melk.

There’s also a magic academy here that was once participated in the inter-college tournament in the past. It means that there are agents in this city.

So I contacted Albert about this city. Though it’s also just a possibility. There’s also a chance that this is another of their small base.

By now, there’s no more battle. Everyone has finished the battle in their location with the help of the monsters. We killed and captured thousands of people.

But the danger is still there. We have to continue looking.

Maybe the location in this city is the correct one. The center of their communication. And they have summoner who can come and go at will.

If that summoner is a master level, then he or she could have five familiars. This might not be easy.

"I see. I will inform the agents there to get a thorough check on the city. They will take care of it. You just need to wait and see if the enemy is trying to escape. If they opened a portal, you need to try to get a Blobby into the portal," Albert said.

"Then it’s best if I join the agents to raid the place, right? Why am I waiting outside?" I asked.

"Your identity still needs to be hidden from the cult. And if you wear armor into the city, everyone will know that you’re the Aura user. How about you enter the city while being invisible with Spot and wait near the location," Albert suggested.

"I’ll do that then," I said.

But before I go, I returned the monsters back to the Monsters World. Even those who are not here. They can rest since it has been a while day after the battle.

I entered the city and try to use magic detection to detect the magic signal coming from the magical devices they used to communicate with each other. Seems like there are still several bases that we failed to find as I can sense two devices were operating.

I followed the trace of those signal and found them. It’s an ordinary house with ordinary couple living in it. Or at least that’s what it looks like from the outside.

From the inside, there are more than just a couple of people. There are about ten of them.

Since they were never been seen before, I guess they did use portal for transportation. That’s why when I asked an agent nearby, they told me that the house is lived by only two people.

"So that’s the place. Then we will raid it once we gathered enough people," the agent said.

"Good luck," I said.

While he and the other agents raid the place, I will not only see the raid. But also the surrounding area to see if there are any suspicious people nearby.

They will send their strongest mages who are in this city. While the rest will check the surrounding area for suspicious people.

How can we find a suspicious people here? From their expression and their action after the agents started raiding the place.

If they’re either too calm or panicked, then they are suspicious. At least that’s the criteria of being suspicious people.

Ordinary people will be confused when some people from the country attacked an ordinary house. But unordinary people will either be calm or panicked.

Soon after that, some people dressed as the guard of the city came. Since we no longer need to secretly fight anymore, we can go all out.

Everyone stared at how several people dressed as guards walking together to a certain location. And then it finally happened.

Without any notice, they entered the house and arrested the people there.

"Do not resist! We have permission to kill everyone on sight!"

The people are curious about what happened. But the guards ignored them.

I’d like to focus on the surrounding area. But first, I need to see the reaction of the people inside the house.

They exchanged look before they nodded at each other. And soon after, those who are wind mages broke the window and flew to escape from the house. But the guards already prepared for them retreating so they got caught quickly.

Some of the onlookers were confused as there were supposed to be only two people living in that house. But there were three people flying out of the window.

And the others inside are ready to move as well. One of them is a summoner as expected. And a portal is open now.

I quickly aimed my rifle there. I’m sure that someone will find out if I shoot into the portal. So I waited.

The guards started fighting them. And the enemy also sends some people to stop those guards.

The summoner and two other people entered the portal. Now is my chance.

I shoot a Blobbybullet into the portal. But that’s not my real target.

My real target is one of the people who is fighting the guard. It seems like they’re equal. But the guard is actually holding back.

I shot the guy and the Victobullet hit his shoe. Then Victoria attached herself to the man’s shoe. And the guard pretended to use a rather powerful blow to throw the guy back to the portal.

The guy fell near the portal. And the guy’s quick thinking told him to enter the portal that has started to get smaller instead of engaging in battle.

The previous Blobby I shot inside the portal was destroyed by something. But Victoria that got attached to the guy’s shoe was still there. Now I can go there to surprise them.

’Victoria, once you think it’s safe, remove yourself from that guy and move to a safe location where I can open a portal next time,’ I said to Victoria telepathically.

She will be okay. Now, it’s time to grab the suspicious onlookers.

Some agents have secretly moved and captured those people without anyone knowing. But I can still see some suspicious people nearby.

The agents and the guards are busy. So I need to take care of it myself.

Those onlookers were from nearby houses or inns. They watched what happened from the window or even balcony. They are way too calm to be ordinary people.

Not all of them might be a member of the cult. So I can’t just kill them.

But it was easy as none of them are a challenge to me who is an Aura Master and a master level summoner.

Just like that, we took care of the base here. But we still have a lot of things to investigate.

Meanwhile, down there on the street, the guards and agents have captured or killed most of the suspicious people. And the guard announced something.

"You are all guilty of being involved with the Evil God Cult! We will take you for questioning!"

That’s not an announcement for the cult members. But for the people here why we did all of this.

Some of them became aware of what’s happening. And most of them actually angry after they heard what the guards announced. Seems like even here, they treated the cult as their mortal enemies.

That’s good. No one will ask the guards any question then since they even saw more people lived in the house than just the couple.
