Chapter 1006: Multiple Surprise Attacks

"Albert, are you done over there?" I asked Albert on the phone.

I already brought the Sus-teacher and the other ten master level mages we captured to a special prison where they won’t be able to escape. Sara and Kayla have returned to my side and I told the Principal to return back to the school until further notice.

The state that the Sus-teacher was in was not good. But he didn’t die at least. Though if the Principal used magic, he should be stronger than the Sus-teacher.

The things here were done sooner than expected. But we captured more than enough members of the cult I hope.

Since the plan was to capture the Sus-teacher after the maids’ report were taken, we did it sooner and we haven’t even received any report of someone grabbing the letter written by the maids. It’s also because I was kidnapped.

Since I was kidnapped, Albert said that we’re free to do things on our own. Because if we’re way too coordinated, there’s a chance that the cult will really stop attacking us until they have gathered all their strength. And we don’t want them to get stronger at all. So it’s best if they keep attacking us once in a while before they gathered all their power.

But what I didn’t expect was that they’re attacking us right now. That’s the news I got from Albert.

"There’s no one taking the maids’ report yet, but the Royal Capital is under attack. Seems like rather than waiting for the report, they attacked us using the knowledge they got from the maids’ talking. Though it’s good that they spread wrong knowledge about the map of the palace. But if they’re master level mages, then being wrong is not important," Albert said.

Even though the capital is under attack, he’s pretty calm about it as he explained what he assumed the cult to be thinking.

He thought that the cult must be thinking that we already knew that they made the maids into their spies. That’s why rather than taking the reports the maids wrote, it’s better for them to attack us directly. Because we should be lowering our guards thinking that the cult will take the reports.

And they were correct to think that way. Not only I was busy with things here in another city, we even brought Kayla, Wendy, and Sara here. Three of our strongest mages.

Well, they were usually in Cassau anyway. But being here is enough to make it difficult for them to go to the capital right away.

Damage must have occurred already. But Albert is pretty calm about it. So I guess the worst won’t happen.

He meant the Summoner from the master level village. Since I put the Principal on house arrest there with the other villagers and I brought him back to the capital so the Principal could learn the truth about what happened to his son, the Summoner and some other master level mages still stayed behind. They can protect Albert and the others.

"But the attack is not just in the palace. Most of our troops are focusing on evacuating the citizens. So if you’re done over there, please return as soon as possible," Albert said.

"What about Shirley?" I asked.

"She’s obviously facing most of the enemies right now. She went outside and is taking care of the enemies she found. But some still managed to enter the palace," Albert said.

"Have you heard any news from other countries?" I asked.

"I can’t contact them at the moment. They must be busy or maybe even under attack as well," Albert said.

"Okay. I’ll get Sara and Kayla to your location. Wendy will fly on her own while I will go to the other countries," I said.

"Kayla must be with you telling you the plan. That’s great. Just do as she said," Albert said.

...Did he learn to read my mind now? Or maybe it’s too easy to read.

In any case, I quickly open up a portal for Sara and Kayla to enter. It’s somewhere near the capital.

As for Wendy, Sara already contacted her. She will return after her duty at the school is over.

Then I checked other countries while telling Victoria to keep checking on her phone if there’s any news.

"Roy, the Aura user that the cult knows should be placing his familiars to various locations. Even if there’s no attack, you can just put Shelia, Graham, and Crabbe to their position," Victoria reminded me.

The places where those three familiars of mine were put were not in any danger. But just in case, I told the kings in each location that I have my familiar there.

Then I found something. Not an attack, but a preparation for an attack. In one of the smaller kingdoms in the alliance with only two master level mages.

From the look of it, the cult is thoroughly prepared to take down that kingdom.

But the people in that kingdom itself didn’t notice them at all. Those people who wanted to invade the kingdom were far enough from any detection from the master level mages in the kingdom.

It’s a small kingdom that I didn’t bother to remember its name. Even I forgot the King’s name. But at least I remember his face.

"Hey, this kingdom is being surrounded already. Get the citizens to safety," I said as soon as I found the King.

"Sir Roy? You mean we have enemies surrounding us already?" the King asked.

"I think most of them are expert level mages. About one hundred of them each on the north, northwest, west, southwest, south, southeast, east, and northeast. And for master level mages, I don’t know. But there might be a lot of them," I said.

"...We’re totally outnumbered. We only have two master level mages," the King said.

"Tatrama is also under attack, so they can’t send their reinforcement. And since two of the kingdoms already under attack, the other countries need to be careful and increase their guard so they can’t send any reinforcement as well. The good news is that I’m here. I can get reinforcement from Monsters Village," I said.

"Thank you for coming here! Please help us!" the King said.

"But I haven’t checked every country in the alliance yet. So I will get Ray and Victoria here to lead the monsters while I continue checking other countries. The mission is to protect the kingdom and survive. If the enemy started to leave, don’t chase after them. Oh, Sunglasses said that he can come here and help you plan for the battle. Do you want me to do that?" I asked the King.

And so I brought Sunglasses here. Then I also get the weretigers, centaurs, and elves. As for other monsters, they might be needed in other location.

Even then, we’re still outnumbered. I hope there won’t be too much casualties before more reinforcement coming.

Once other countries have thoroughly checked their country if there’s any potential attack from the cult, they will send reinforcement to the kingdoms that were under attack. Until then, I hope Sunglasses can protect this kingdom.

While checking other countries, Shelia, Graham, and Crabbe told me that there’s nothing happening so far. With Shelia insisted that she wanted to go to the country that is under attack as soon as possible. So I told her to be patient.

Finally, the last small kingdom I need to check. It was Rygis. With Patricia and three other master level mages protecting it.

And this country is now only realized that they’re under attack just when I arrive there. So I quickly summoned Shelia, the werewolves, and the dragons here.

And the enemy’s force is about the same as the previous attacked kingdom. We’re totally outnumbered again here.

"Yuria! Lead the citizens to safety!" I said to her.

This time, I will join the fight.

This country is no longer the country that enslaves men. So there are some men among the soldiers. But I don’t care about them.

I put on my armor and prepare to fight. Riding on Cooldra being as cool as possible.

"Can you not ride me when I’m fighting? I want to be free to do what I want during the fight," Cooldra said.

"Pretend that I’m not here. Also, I will jump when we’re close to the enemy anyway. Just don’t kill any civilians," I said.

"I know. I can tell who the enemy here is. Let’s start the massacre!" Cooldra said.

With him in the lead, the other dragons chased after him. But I stopped them and told them to spread to eight different directions.

The dragons move to the north, northwest, west, and southwest. As for the werewolves, they went to the other direction.

If it’s a battle to kill the entire enemy, then we’re way outnumbered. But this is a defensive battle. We should be okay until someone can send reinforcement.

But since I’m here to join the fight, it’s best to finish it by ourselves, right?
