The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 890 Missionary

Chapter 890 Missionary

Pete finished speaking and then turned to make a subtle gesture towards the person behind him.

The individual nodded, walked to an open space, and without any noticeable movement, suddenly had a huge package in hand!

Ling Feng and Li Feier were both taken aback.

"Wow, is this some kind of magic trick?" Li Feier asked with a smart, astonished look on her face.

"You could say that!"

Pete, with a look of pride, glanced at Ling Feng, "Excuse me for a moment, we’re going to set up camp."

"Sure, go ahead, we’re about to have dinner ourselves!"

Ling Feng smiled, took Li Feier by the hand, and entered the wooden hut.

After entering, he directly closed the door behind them.

Once seated, Ling Feng looked at Li Feier and Liya, "These people make no effort to hide their spatial equipment, do you think they’re showing off?"

"I don’t think so, they’re probably just testing us. How was my acting just now, uncle?" Li Feier asked with a giggly smile.

"Not bad, it should fool them," Ling Feng nodded.

After speaking, he turned to Liya, "Master Kong Kong doesn’t have any enemies, does he?"

"No!"

Liya shook her head, "My master has roamed the Golden Triangle for many years and has never had a dispute with anyone."

"That’s strange, I feel these people have impure motives. If they are here to visit the Master, why bring so many people?" Ling Feng mused.

At this point, Li Feier spoke up, "Let them do whatever. Even if they have bad intentions, we’re not afraid of them, right?"

After speaking, she picked up her bowl and chopsticks, "Let’s hurry up and eat, I’m starving!"

"Eat, eat, let’s not worry about them!"

Ling Feng laughed and also picked up his bowl and chopsticks.

After dinner, as the skies grew completely dark, Liya found an oil lamp and lit it, and the room was immediately enveloped in a warm yellow glow.

At the same time, it began to get lively outside; Pete and his men were struggling with tents and collected some firewood, then lit a large bonfire.

Ling Feng had not planned on interacting with them as long as they didn’t cause any trouble.

However, shortly after the fire was lit, a savory smell wafted over; Pete and his men were actually barbecuing!

Upon smelling this, Ling Feng was taken aback!

Turning to look at Liya, he couldn’t help but say, "Are these people doing this on purpose? To barbecue right outside a monastery!"

"It doesn’t matter. This isn’t really a provocation. My master once said that being a vegetarian is just a practice of self-discipline for monks, and he doesn’t interfere with other people’s lifestyle choices," Liya explained.

Ling Feng uttered, "The Master is truly tolerant."

No sooner had he spoken than Pete’s voice came from outside, "Mr. Ling, why stay inside on such a long night? Why not come out for some food and talk, and maybe enjoy the starry sky as well?"

Ling Feng was surprised, then smiled, "Sure, why not!"

He then stood up, looked at Li Feier and Liya, and said in a low voice, "It might be good to check it out and figure out what these people really want."

"Alright!"

With Ling Feng there, the two women had nothing to worry about, so they all stood up together.

When they pushed the door open, they saw the bright moonlight showering the earth, making the clearing on the mountainside look like it was coated in silver.

Around a dozen people were seated around the fire, feasting away on barbecued meat, beer, and an assortment of food.

On the other side, six tents were lined up neatly, already set up.

Ling Feng glanced over and then smiled, "It seems Mr. Pete is a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, prepared so thoroughly!"

"That’s right, ever since I came to the Golden Triangle, I’ve gotten used to this kind of life. To use an ancient saying from Huaxia, it’s like ’using the sky as your blanket and the ground as your mattress,’" laughed Pete.

"I didn’t expect Mr. Pete to be so knowledgeable about Huaxia culture!" Ling Feng said with a smile.

As they talked, the group reached the firepit and casually found places to sit down.

Li Fei’er and Liya sat on Ling Feng’s left and right. They had barely sat down when they felt the eyes of others on them. Li Fei’er didn’t hold back and glared straight back!

The little girl’s proud defiance caused the others to chuckle and soon they lowered their heads to eat.

Pete also sat down, looking at the three of them, and asked, "Would you like something to eat?"

"No thanks, we’ve already eaten and don’t feel like having anything right now!" Ling Feng responded with a smile.

"Meeting is fate. It’s rare to encounter each other here; let’s make friends!"

Pete, all smiles, opened a can of beer and handed it to Ling Feng.

His words were a typical Huaxia-style encouragement to drink. Ling Feng thought it was funny and thus didn’t refuse again, taking the beer.

However, Liya and Li Fei’er were adamant about not drinking alcohol, and they wouldn’t even touch the food from strangers. After all, being careful with strangers was appropriate.

Pete raised his beer, "Mr. Ling, forgive my boldness, but what brings you here to see Master Kong Kong?"

"Nothing much, Miss Liya here is a secular disciple of the Master. We’re just here for a visit!" Ling Feng said indifferently.

Pete was startled and couldn’t help but give Liya another look.

Noticing this, Ling Feng curiously asked, "And you, Mr. Pete? What business do you have with Master Kong Kong?"

"Me? I’m here to discuss a collaboration with him!" shrugged Pete.

"Collaboration?"

Ling Feng was puzzled and asked, "What kind of collaboration?"

"Master Kong Kong has great prestige in the Golden Triangle area, so I want to work with him to draw in some followers," Pete explained.

"..."

Ling Feng was a bit baffled, "Followers? What do you mean?"

"Here’s my business card. You’ll understand once you see it!"

Pete smiled, took out a business card, and passed it over.

Ling Feng took it and was immediately speechless.

The title on the card read: Roman Catholic Missionary.

"Uh, Mr. Pete, you are a Catholic believer?" Ling Feng asked, somewhat speechless.

"Yes!"

Pete nodded, "I’ve been in the Golden Triangle for two years and have been a missionary for one year!"

Ling Feng still felt speechless, looking puzzled, he asked, "But you should know that Master Kong Kong is a Buddhist. His faith is different from yours. How could he possibly help you gain followers?"

"Haha, Mr. Ling, it’s normal for you to think that way, but rest assured, I have my methods to get the Master’s help!" Pete said with a laugh.

Ling Feng thought that was simply absurd. He turned his head and saw Liya’s brow slightly furrowed, her eyes already showing a trace of displeasure.

Clearly, what Ling Feng said was also on her mind; Master Kong Kong would definitely not agree to this!

As for Pete’s claim that he had a way to make Master Kong Kong agree, it definitely wasn’t something aboveboard!

Seeing her reaction, Ling Feng’s eyes twinkled, and he looked at Pete with a smile, "May I ask what method Mr. Pete has to persuade the Master?"
