The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1152: Unexpected Discovery

Chapter 1152: Unexpected Discovery

Liu Fu was taken aback, "Really?"

"Of course it’s true. I can make that decision!" Ling Feng laughed.

Liu Fu knew it was a good thing but still hesitated for a moment, then said with a bitter expression, "But our two villages are too far apart, separated by two big mountains!"

"That’s not a problem. When you encounter mountains, you build roads; when you encounter water, you build bridges!"

Ling Feng waved his hand nonchalantly and then asked, "By the way, Village Chief Liu, do we have any special products in our village?"

"Special?"

Liu Fu thought for a moment, then shook his head, "We live off the mountains here. Apart from farming, every household raises some chickens and ducks. Each family raises quite a number of poultry, relying on selling chicken and duck eggs to make some money!"

"That’s fine. Later, you can tell the villagers that if anyone is interested in raising chickens and ducks, I can help you set up a farm and enclose this mountain area for free-range farming!" Ling Feng said.

"But sales would be a problem!"

Liu Fu furrowed his brows, feeling tempted but having even more concerns.

"You don’t need to worry about that. Once our Shiliu Village Corporation is developed and combined with Ling Corporation’s sales network, I can find a market for not just your village’s chickens and ducks, but for the entire North Mountain region!" Ling Feng laughed.

Hearing this, Liu Fu’s eyes widened in excitement, immediately energized!

He then excitedly grabbed Ling Feng’s hand, "If that’s the case, you’d be a great benefactor to our Mountain God Temple Village!"

"Please don’t say that!" Ling Feng laughed.

Liu Fu shook his head, "It’s only fair, Mr. Ling. You and the two young ladies must stay for a meal before you leave!"

Faced with the old man’s enthusiasm, Ling Feng smiled, thinking that since there was no rush to leave, they might as well stay for a meal!

He then turned to look at Ye Qian and Chen Yan, smiling as he said, "Let’s stay in the village a little longer, shall we?"

"Sure!"

Both women had no objections and nodded simultaneously.

So the three of them followed Liu Fu to his home. After entering the small courtyard, the old man shouted loudly, "Wife, come out quickly; we have guests!"

"Guests again? We don’t have room at home!"

Following the voice, an old lady came out from the house.

"These three are esteemed guests, but they won’t be staying, just having a meal. Go kill a big rooster quickly!" Liu Fu said.

Hearing this, Ling Feng curiously asked, "Village Chief, are there other guests at your house?"

"Yes, a geological team came earlier, saying they were here to find mines. They’ve been staying with us for a few days now!" Liu Fu said.

Ling Feng was startled, "Looking for mines?"

He squinted his eyes and asked, "Village Chief, how many people are there?"

"Seven or eight of them, but a few left later. Four remain living at my place!" Liu Fu said.

"Oh?"

Curious, Ling Feng felt that things might not be so simple and asked, "Where are they staying?"

"The courtyard next door, which also belongs to us but has been empty for years. They moved in after they arrived!" Liu Fu said.

Ling Feng nodded, giving a signal to Ye Qian and Chen Yan, "You two help with the cooking. I’ll go for a stroll!"

Understanding his meaning, Ye Qian immediately nodded, "Okay!"

The two young women went to help, quickly charming the old couple into beaming smiles.

Ling Feng made his way next door, climbed over the dirt wall, and entered the courtyard.

The house had only three rooms and looked like it had been built three or four decades ago, appearing very old and rundown.

With a sweep of Divine Sense, Ling Feng confirmed that no one was inside, so he stepped in.

On the earth bed was a pile of neatly folded dark green military bedding. On the ground were several metal boxes, some open, containing mineral samples and tools like hammers and chisels.

Ling Feng looked around from the ground, and from the appearance, it indeed seemed like the people staying were miners.

"Could it be that I’m overthinking?"

After muttering to himself, Ling Feng turned to another room.

The bedding in this room was also neatly arranged, the floor accommodating an alcohol stove and other cooking tools, suffusing the air with a particular scent.

Ling Feng sniffed the air and then wondered, "What’s that smell? Could it be wasabi?"

Turning around, he noticed a small refrigerator on the floor, so he went over and opened it, indeed finding several tubes of wasabi paste.

Also in the fridge were some rapidly pink-colored meats, which certainly didn’t look like pork or beef.

"Fish?"

Ling Feng mumbled to himself, then paused suddenly!

"Wasabi, fish, they’re eating sashimi?"

Upon realization, Ling Feng’s first thought was about people from Dongying!

He then turned to look further, finding two bottles in a cupboard with undecipherable writing, but he knew at a glance they were in Dongying script, confirming that the people staying here were very likely the ones he suspected!

However, Liu Fu mentioned four people staying here, while he had only encountered two in the mountain. Where were the other two?

Thinking of this, Ling Feng erased any traces of his presence and left the house.

Returning to Liu Fu’s courtyard, Chen Yan and the others were already helping with the cooking. Seeing the old man chopping wood, Ling Feng walked over and said, "Village Chief, let me do it!"

"How can I let you? The two young ladies helping is already very embarrassing, and now you’re helping too!" Liu Fu said, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

Ling Feng chuckled, "I’m young; this kind of work is nothing!"

He then took the axe from Liu Fu’s hand and started chopping wood.

This work was no big deal to him, so he asked while working, "Village Chief, what do those people living next door look like? Didn’t they say where they’re from?"

"They said they’re with the provincial geological team. They don’t seem to like interacting with people much. We didn’t ask further since they don’t rely on us for meals, only a place to stay," Liu Fu explained.

Ling Feng acknowledged with an "Oh" and continued asking, "So they’ve been spending their days in the mountains and only return after dark?"

"More or less; it’s only after two in the afternoon now. They usually return around five," Liu Fu said.

"I see."

Ling Feng nodded and decided not to leave the Mountain God Temple today, planning to wait until the evening.

After chopping some wood, the meal was ready.

Though Liu Fu and his wife had already had lunch, they sat with Ling Feng on account of his presence.

The food was authentic homemade cooking, with the highlight being a freshly slaughtered and simmered big rooster.

Ling Feng ate heartily and said to the two young women, "We’ll have to stay here a bit longer today!"
