The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1151: Spirit of Vegetation

Chapter 1151: Spirit of Vegetation

The remaining man with a mustache looked pale as a sheet. It was hard to tell whether he was mourning his fallen companion or fearing that the same fate would soon befall him.

This time, Ling Feng didn’t let Chen Yan take action, as he felt she had been too forceful earlier and accidentally killed someone. After all, it was her first time, and she now seemed a little shaken.

So, Ling Feng turned around, glanced at the mustached man, and then unsealed his acupoints.

The man’s eyes flickered, his emotions hard to decipher—whether it was fear, anger, or a mix of both.

"You were the ones who charged at us of your own accord. You sought death—it’s no fault of ours!"

Ling Feng said with a smirk before asking, "Alright, talk now. Who are you people?"

"Don’t think you’ll pry any information out of me!"

The mustached man retorted coldly.

"Oh, really?"

Ling Feng sneered. "You’re underestimating my methods!"

As he spoke, he grabbed the man’s arm and shouted loudly, "Who sent you here?"

Just as a few words surfaced in Ling Feng’s mind, the man’s face changed dramatically, and black blood began seeping from the corner of his mouth!

"Damn it!"

Ling Feng let out an angry roar, but it was too late. The man had bitten down on poison to end his own life!

"This decisive, huh?"

Watching the man collapse to the ground, not only Ling Feng, but also Chen Yan and Ye Qian were stunned!

None of them had anticipated that this individual wasn’t afraid of death at all.

"Did you uncover anything while interrogating him?" Ye Qian asked.

"I only caught a few words: Amaterasu. No idea what that’s supposed to mean!" Ling Feng replied helplessly.

Chen Yan’s eyes lit up at that. "I know this! Amaterasu is a deity from Dongying!"

"Huh?"

Ling Feng was taken aback, then looked a little exasperated. "Are you kidding? I asked this guy who sent him, and the first thing that came to his mind was Amaterasu? Could it really be that Dongying’s deities sent him?"

"That’s impossible!"

Ye Qian and Chen Yan said in unison. Then Chen Yan added, "I think this guy must’ve been a die-hard follower of some organization tied to Amaterasu. That’s why he killed himself to protect their secrets!"

"So when I asked him, his faith was what immediately came to mind?"

Ling Feng pondered this for a moment and found it quite reasonable.

But after a second thought, he sighed bitterly and said, "Too bad he died so quickly. We still don’t know how they found this place or why they came so fast!"

"The authorities in the bureau should investigate and find out," Ye Qian said confidently.

Ling Feng nodded. "Let’s hope so."

Saying this, he crouched down and searched the two corpses. However, he found nothing of value. Clearly, these two had made thorough preparations before coming here.

With nothing turning up, Ling Feng had no choice but to incinerate the bodies using a Five Elements Fruit imbued with fire energy. A mountain breeze soon swept away the ashes.

Returning to the tower, Ling Feng extended his Divine Sense to investigate whether there was anything inside. Unfortunately, his Divine Sense couldn’t penetrate the masonry at all!

"This is strange; I can’t see what’s inside!" Ling Feng remarked.

"We can’t just demolish the tower, can we? It’s been standing here for so many years!" Chen Yan said from the side.

Ling Feng nodded. "Of course not!"

Since taking the tower apart wasn’t an option, he leaped directly to the top of the tower in one swift motion.

The tower stood over ten meters tall, wide at the base and narrow at the top. Its summit could only accommodate one person standing—no room for another.

As soon as he reached the top, Ling Feng noticed something unusual!

The top of the tower housed a sphere about the size of a basketball. It likely had color once, but years of weathering had rendered it a dull gray. It appeared to be made of stone.

The sphere was embedded in the tower’s peak, and it should have fit perfectly. However, Ling Feng could now see a wide gap, revealing that the space beneath it was hollow!

Peering into the darkness below, Ling Feng guessed his Divine Sense might finally reveal what was inside.

Indeed, once he extended his Divine Sense, the tower’s internal structure became crystal clear!

Inside was a dark green sphere, slowly rotating within the hollow space of the tower’s body.

As it rotated, it emitted bursts of energy.

Seeing this, Ling Feng’s heart suddenly skipped a beat!

Without hesitating, he immediately removed the stone sphere at the top of the tower and reached out to grab the object!

It was smooth to the touch. Then, a message echoed in Ling Feng’s mind: "Spirit of Vegetation."

"What the...!"

Ling Feng exclaimed, quickly pulling the sphere out.

Below, Ye Qian and Chen Yan both saw it and simultaneously asked, "What is that?"

"The Spirit of Vegetation! This is the reason why the plants in Mountain God Temple Village have been flowering!" Ling Feng exclaimed joyfully.

"And what exactly is it?" Chen Yan asked.

"It accelerates plant growth. With this, low winter temperatures won’t matter—we can still maintain lush greenery!" Ling Feng explained with a laugh.

"That powerful?!"

Chen Yan gasped, her eyes widening in amazement.

"Heaven must be helping us!"

Ling Feng was overjoyed. This was a godsend.

Originally, Shiliu Village’s agricultural projects had been scheduled to start next spring. But with this, they could bypass the constraints of weather and begin immediately!

However, Ling Feng didn’t intend to keep the Spirit of Vegetation for himself. It didn’t hold much personal significance for him; Wan’er would be far better suited to unlocking its potential!

Leaping back down to the ground, Ling Feng stored the object away and said to the two women, "Let’s head back. I’m guessing the village has already undergone some changes."

"With this extraordinary energy gone, there are bound to be changes!" Ye Qian nodded.

Indeed, on their way back to Mountain God Temple Village after descending the mountain, they noticed that the flowering plants had already withered!

"That tiny sphere had such a massive effect. Incredible!" Chen Yan remarked.

"The wonders of creation are beyond our understanding!" Ling Feng chuckled.

The trio continued their conversation as they returned to the village. At the entrance, Liu Fu hurriedly came to greet them. "Have you three discovered anything?" he asked.

"Village Chief Liu, we did uncover something, but it’s classified, so we can’t share it with you for now!" Ling Feng responded.

"Oh, what a pity! The flowers in the village have all wilted, and even the newly sprouting vegetables are drooping!" Liu Fu sighed regretfully.

"It was just a rare natural phenomenon. Don’t think too much about it. Everything will go back to normal soon!"

Ling Feng smiled faintly, a thought suddenly striking him.

The Spirit of Vegetation, which had been in this village, could have brought great blessings. But now that he had taken it, he couldn’t help but feel it wasn’t entirely fair to them.

So Ling Feng turned to Liu Fu and asked, "Village Chief Liu, have you heard of Shiliu Village?"

"Yes, of course! It’s about forty miles from here. It’s been quite famous lately. Why do you ask, Mr. Ling?" Liu Fu inquired.

Ling Feng grinned. "I’m from Shiliu Village. Our village is currently preparing to establish a corporate group. If your village is interested, you’re welcome to join us!"
