Chapter 1123: Seeking Medical Advice
Chapter 1123: Seeking Medical Advice
Under the blanket of night, a figure swiftly departed from Shankou Village.
Within minutes, Ling Feng arrived at Tang Family Village.
Using the impressions left during the day, he quickly located Tang Xiaoqian’s home.
Seeing the house illuminated but blocked by curtains, Ling Feng chuckled to himself, thinking, "Is she waiting for me already?"
Just as he entered the courtyard, the big black dog lunged at him from the shadows. But upon catching a whiff of Ling Feng’s scent, it immediately turned tail and bolted away!
Ling Feng chuckled again, "Smart dog!"
Brimming with excitement, he stepped forward, intending to suddenly burst in and give Tang Xiaoqian a surprise attack.
However, just as his hand touched the door, he heard voices—two people speaking inside!
It was clear that the speakers were two women: one was Tang Xiaoqian, and the other was unfamiliar.
Using his Divine Sense, Ling Feng swept through the space and saw the other person clearly, freezing momentarily in surprise.
The woman wore thin, gold-rimmed glasses and sported a ponytail, radiating youthful energy.
Yet, her aura carried a scholarly elegance, giving off an air of refinement—clearly not someone from the village. Ling Feng couldn’t help but pause in confusion.
He thought, "What’s going on here? We agreed to meet tonight, but why did Tang Xiaoqian bring someone else along?"
A dubious thought popped into his head, but he quickly dismissed it—there was no way that could be the case.
Tang Xiaoqian wasn’t the type to be that open-minded.
Just then, the woman spoke: "Xiaoqian, why hasn’t that person arrived yet?"
"Don’t worry. He said he’d come, so he will definitely show up!" Tang Xiaoqian replied.
"But it’s getting pretty late, isn’t it?" the girl said with hesitation coloring her expression.
"It’s not too late; maybe something held him up. But since he promised to come check on me, he’ll definitely appear!" Tang Xiaoqian reassured.
Ling Feng immediately understood—she’d used her injury as an excuse to fabricate a reason for his visit and explain it to the girl.
But why would she do that?
Pondering this, Ling Feng didn’t delay further. He cleared his throat and asked, "Sis, are you home?"
"Here!"
Hearing his voice, Tang Xiaoqian quickly ran out from the inner room.
Opening the door, she grinned and greeted him, "Why did you take so long to get here?"
Ling Feng chuckled, "Something came up and delayed me a little."
Entering the house, he noticed the girl and paused deliberately before asking, "And who might this be?"
"This is Mu Lingling, a teacher from our school!"
Tang Xiaoqian introduced her briefly, then added, "Mu is a good friend of mine. She heard I got injured today and came to check on me!"
"Ah, I see now!"
Ling Feng smiled, nodded toward Mu Lingling, and said, "Hello, Teacher Mu!"
"Hello, Mister Ling!"
As this was their first meeting, shaking hands didn’t seem entirely appropriate, so neither extended their hand.
Looking at Ling Feng, Mu Lingling remarked, "Mister Ling, you’re so young."
"Really? You’re quite young yourself, becoming a teacher at such an early age," Ling Feng replied with a smile.
"Lingling is a recent university graduate doing volunteer teaching," Tang Xiaoqian quickly interjected.
Ling Feng nodded in realization, expressing admiration, "That’s truly commendable. Teacher Mu has a lot of heart!"
"Please don’t say that; I’m simply trying to do my part," Mu Lingling replied with a laugh.
"Alright, alright, you two can stop complimenting each other now!"
Tang Xiaoqian interrupted, then turned to Ling Feng and said, "She came looking for you tonight for a particular reason!"
Ling Feng thought to himself, "Finally, we’re getting to the point," and asked, "What is it?"
"I heard Mister Ling has remarkable medical skills. I was hoping you could help me—I’ve been suffering from a chronic ailment that’s tormented me for years," Mu Lingling explained.
"Is that so?"
Ling Feng smiled, now understanding.
He then continued, "Teacher Mu, where exactly are you feeling unwell?"
Mu Lingling’s cheeks flushed slightly as she nodded, "It’s my waist. I’m not sure when it began, but suddenly some rash-like spots appeared. I’ve seen countless doctors and tried all sorts of creams and oral medicines, but nothing has helped!"
Ling Feng let out an "Oh," thinking to himself, "Why shy about that? It’s just the waist, not something overly sensitive!"
Unexpectedly, Mu Lingling continued, "Now, it’s spread to my upper body. I’m afraid if this keeps up, something severe might happen. Mister Ling, do you think you can help me?"
Ling Feng responded with another "Oh" and said, "Let me examine it first!"
"Alright."
Mu Lingling nodded, her face turning even redder.
At that moment, Ling Feng suddenly realized that checking her would mean she’d have to take off her clothes—while not fully exposed, she’d at least be down to her undergarments.
Mu Lingling had agreed but hesitated. Tang Xiaoqian chimed in, "Come on, Lingling, what are you shy about? Ling Feng is a doctor. In the eyes of a doctor, there’s only illness, not gender!"
Ling Feng thought her words were perfectly on point—better than what he could come up with!
He nodded, "Xiaoqian’s right, Teacher Mu. Don’t overthink—let me see how serious the condition is first."
"Alright then."
Though visibly bashful, Mu Lingling began unbuttoning her shirt.
She then removed her top, revealing a simple black bra.
The contrast of her snow-white skin against the dark undergarment was strikingly beautiful.
Yet the skin from her bra line down to her waist was covered in red blotches filled with tiny bumps!
Although Ling Feng didn’t have a fear of clusters, the sight still made his skin crawl.
Frowning slightly, Ling Feng asked, "How long has it been in this state?"
"At least six months!" Mu Lingling answered.
"Alright, give me your hand. I’ll check if there are any toxins in your system," Ling Feng instructed.
Mu Lingling extended her delicate hand, her ivory skin smooth and flawless.
Ling Feng couldn’t help but lament inwardly, "Such perfect skin ruined by this condition—unfair indeed!"
Taking her pulse, Ling Feng focused intently, while Tang Xiaoqian and Mu Lingling watched him with hopeful eyes.
Moments later, Ling Feng opened his eyes and said, "Your physical condition is perfectly normal—no issues at all. That’s quite strange!"
"Some doctors said I have damp toxin, but I’ve tried countless moisture-clearing remedies to no avail—it’s been so frustrating!" Mu Lingling explained.
Ling Feng thought to himself, "Looking at the surface, it does resemble damp toxin. But her body contains no excess moisture, so that can be ruled out."
If the cause wasn’t internal, then what else could it be?
After deliberating, Ling Feng concluded it must be external factors. He asked, "Half a year ago, where were you?"
"I was still at school," Mu Lingling replied.
"Did anything unusual happen around that time?" Ling Feng asked.
Mu Lingling froze momentarily, then stammered, "Mister Ling... are you suggesting I’m cursed or possessed?"
