The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1122: Can’t Let Go

Chapter 1122: Can’t Let Go

"Ah!"

Tang Xiaoqian let out a startled cry, instinctively crouching down to pick up the bowl.

But the sharp edges of the broken pieces immediately cut her fair fingers.

She cried out again in surprise.

Ling Feng noticed her bleeding finger and quickly grabbed her hand, then stuffed her finger into his mouth!

"Ah..."

Feeling the warmth of his mouth, Tang Xiaoqian’s body trembled, nearly losing her balance. She quickly leaned against Ling Feng for support!

Ling Feng didn’t think too deeply about it; he just knew that saliva could help stop bleeding. He simply wanted to help!

But the softness of her body pressed against his chest took him by surprise!

Hearing the faint murmurs from her, Ling Feng inwardly chuckled—how could she be so sensitive? It was just a little finger-sucking; was it really that big of a deal?

The room fell silent, and Ling Feng didn’t let go of her finger even though the bleeding had already stopped. It was as if he’d forgotten about it.

Feeling Tang Xiaoqian’s body grow softer and her breathing become increasingly erratic, Ling Feng couldn’t help but tighten his hold around her waist.

Moments later, Tang Xiaoqian buried her head in Ling Feng’s chest and whispered softly, "If you don’t mind... I’m willing..."

This was exactly the line Ling Feng had been waiting for. He immediately released her finger, then cupped Tang Xiaoqian’s face in his hands.

Her face was already flushed red, her breathing quick and shallow—clearly, she was emotionally stirred.

Seeing this, Ling Feng couldn’t hold back anymore. He lowered his head and kissed her!

Tang Xiaoqian gave a jolt, then struggled slightly and said, "Wait!"

"What is it?" Ling Feng asked.

"Close the curtains first..." Tang Xiaoqian said.

After all, it was broad daylight—what if someone from the house came in and saw this?

Ling Feng suddenly realized, quickly moving to close the curtains.

But he wasn’t familiar with how the curtains were hung. After tugging a couple times without success, he grew increasingly anxious. Just at that moment, the phone rang!

Ling Feng thought it might be Pete calling, but when he pulled the phone out to check, he found the caller was actually Lin Xue!

"There’s phone signal here?"

Ling Feng muttered, quickly answering the call, "What’s up?"

"Good thing I could reach you. Get back here quickly—there’s a major development!" Lin Xue said.

"Got it, I’ll be right there!"

Hearing the urgency in her voice, Ling Feng immediately understood it was serious. He hung up the phone and looked apologetically at Tang Xiaoqian. "Sis, I have to go!"

"Is it something urgent?" Tang Xiaoqian asked.

"Yeah, there’s something important I need to deal with," Ling Feng replied with an embarrassed smile.

Though a bit disheartened, Tang Xiaoqian suddenly felt a strange sense of relief and nodded, saying, "Alright, go take care of it."

Unable to resist, she added, "Anyway, you know where I live now—you can come anytime."

Seeing her shy expression, Ling Feng smiled, reached out, and held her hand. "How about I come over tonight?"

"..."

Tang Xiaoqian’s body trembled as she shyly lowered her head, unable to contain her embarrassment.

Sometimes silence speaks louder than words. Though she didn’t respond, Ling Feng knew that was her tacit approval. Only then did he take his leave, stepping out the door.

Outside the village, Ling Feng leapt forward, racing back to Shankou Village as fast as he could.

After some swift maneuvering, he soon arrived at Longyuan.

Zhang He and Lin Xue were already waiting for him. As soon as Ling Feng entered, Zhang He immediately said, "Come check this out—look at the latest statistics!"

Ling Feng stepped closer, glancing down at the computer screen. "What’s this?"

"These are the locations within the mountain region where similar incidents have occurred. Do you notice anything unusual?" Zhang He asked.

"It’s a circle. What’s its area?" Ling Feng inquired.

"Roughly a thousand square kilometers!" Zhang He replied.

"Holy shit!"

Ling Feng’s eyes widened in shock.

"It’s massive. Based on reliable intel, most of these graves suddenly went empty. And most of the deceased were once soldiers under Hu Tiesheng. After retiring from service, they returned to their hometowns for farming," Zhang He explained.

Ling Feng nodded, then pointed to the center of the red dots on the map. "Could this area be Hu Family Village?"

"Nope!"

Zhang He shook his head. "Hu Family Village is here."

He pointed to a spot. Ling Feng looked and asked, "How far apart are they?"

"About thirty kilometers!" Zhang He replied.

"Looks like I’ll need to check out that location. With the red dots forming a circle around it, could this mean something?" Ling Feng hypothesized.

"Exactly. That’s what we’re thinking, too. But don’t rush it—Director Han has already requested reconnaissance satellite deployment. Once we have detailed scans, it’ll save you the trouble of searching aimlessly!" Zhang He advised.

Lin Xue nodded in agreement. "That way, you won’t waste time looking for the exact spot."

"Then let’s get the satellite moving!" Ling Feng said.

Zhang He shot him a glare. "You think it’s that simple?"

"Isn’t it? Just shift the satellite’s lens slightly to focus on this area, and done, right?" Ling Feng said matter-of-factly.

Lin Xue chuckled wryly. "You’re oversimplifying it. Changing a satellite’s trajectory is very complex; one adjustment costs at least several million! For larger-scale redeployments, the cost can even exceed tens of millions!"

"Uh..."

Ling Feng was speechless upon hearing this, reluctantly saying, "Alright, I’ll wait, then."

"Don’t worry. At the earliest, results could come out tomorrow. Take this time to rest!" Zhang He advised.

Ling Feng rolled his eyes. Damn, these people always ruined his plans. Rest? He had something else in mind for tonight!

Of course, he couldn’t say this in front of Lin Xue. Otherwise, she’d definitely give him an earful. Ling Feng nodded. "Fine, I’ll wait back in the village."

"Once we have updates, I’ll either call you or bring the data to you directly," Lin Xue said.

"Alright!"

Ling Feng nodded and turned to leave Longyuan.

Returning to Shankou Village, Ling Feng wafted around, staying at Little Lian’s house without venturing elsewhere.

His mind was preoccupied with Tang Xiaoqian; he had no motivation to do anything else.

He didn’t even know why, but Tang Xiaoqian was the first woman to leave him utterly captivated.

Maybe it was the bowl of noodles, or perhaps a budding desire to take care of this widow—Ling Feng couldn’t figure out his own feelings.

As night fell, when Chen Yuhe returned, she spoke before Ling Feng could say a word: "I’m not staying here tonight!"

Ling Feng froze, thinking this couldn’t have worked out better!

But he still pretended to ask, "Why?"

"Hmph, two days in a row—enough is enough! I need a break!" Chen Yuhe said unhappily.

"Heh, was I too much for you?" Ling Feng teased with a wicked grin.

Chen Yuhe, of course, refused to answer and shot him a glare before teleporting away!

As soon as she left, Ling Feng rubbed his hands together eagerly. "The time has come. Xiaoqian, here I come!"
