The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1116: Premeditation

Chapter 1116: Premeditation

Yang Guang was quick-witted and knew that speaking like this wouldn’t end well for him, so he darted behind Ling Feng in a flash!

Then he stuck his tongue out at Chen Yan: "Bleh bleh bleh!"

"Uncle, look at her! She’s bullying me!" Chen Yan exclaimed helplessly.

Ling Feng didn’t know what to say either, so he tried to smooth things over: "Anyway, once we’re in the village, don’t wander off, everyone. Be careful!"

"It’s fine. It’s broad daylight. Zombies always hide in dark, sunless places and definitely won’t come out!" Ye Qian said.

"Oh? You’re already sure they’re zombies?" Ling Feng asked.

"Yes! If something rises from a grave, there can only be one explanation—it’s a corpse turning into a zombie. I’m guessing that ancestor of Hu Dalin’s was the first to transform, then bit the tomb robber’s corpse, and now they’re both zombies!" Ye Qian nodded as she explained.

"Alright, let’s move out. We’ll do our best to find the zombies tonight!"

After saying that, Ling Feng led the group to the Teleportation Array.

With a sudden flash of light, the group arrived at Little Lian’s house.

"Wow, Sister Lian, this is your house? The wooden building is amazing!" Chen Yan exclaimed.

The rest of the group looked curious too, as it was their first time seeing architecture like this.

"Since it’s daytime and there’s nothing urgent, everyone can move around freely! Ye Qian, come with me!" Ling Feng said.

"Alright!"

Ye Qian nodded and followed Ling Feng.

But aside from Little Lian, both Chen Yan and Yang Guang tagged along too.

Seeing this, Ling Feng asked, "You’re coming along too?"

"Of course! Doesn’t it make sense to check out the grave first and then have fun later?" Chen Yan replied.

Ling Feng chuckled: "Alright then."

Then he turned to Little Lian and said, "Sister Lian, you don’t need to come along. The place over there has strong Evil Qi; it’s not good for your health!"

"Got it. I’ll go check on the progress of the construction project," Little Lian nodded.

She already knew about Ling Feng’s investment in the area and believed her hometown was about to undergo dramatic changes. She’d been thinking about it nonstop for the past two days.

The group headed out but split up shortly after. Ling Feng’s group quickly arrived at the southern slope.

At the entrance to the burial chamber, Ye Qian glanced at it before jumping down and entering the tomb.

Ling Feng jumped down too, but Yang Guang and Chen Yan stayed on the side, not moving an inch.

"What’s the matter? Don’t you want to come in and take a look?" Ling Feng asked.

"Uh, no thanks. What’s there to see inside? It’s gross!" Yang Guang replied.

"Oh, really? I think you might be scared, huh?"

Ling Feng smiled knowingly. He could tell from her expression that this girl was definitely nervous!

Of course, Yang Guang refused to admit it. She pouted and said, "Who’s scared? I just like things clean, that’s all!"

Ling Feng didn’t press further. He just smiled and entered the tomb.

Ye Qian had produced a compass and was carefully observing the surroundings. Ling Feng waited quietly beside her without interrupting.

"There really were two zombies in this area," Ye Qian said.

"Was the corpse transformation natural, or triggered by outside factors?" Ling Feng asked.

"It’s hard to say. But I’ve detected traces of Evil Qi left behind by the two zombies!" Ye Qian replied.

Ling Feng nodded: "Alright, let’s head back out for now and see if Yang Guang can spot anything related to feng shui."

"Okay."

The two left the burial chamber, and Ling Feng immediately asked Yang Guang.

She shook her head and replied, "Impossible. The feng shui here is excellent—it’s supposed to protect descendants, not produce zombies!"

"So that means someone deliberately incited the corpse transformation. Could the tomb robber have caused it while breaking in?" Ling Feng speculated.

"That’s also unlikely. Logically speaking, after a hundred years, the corpse would’ve decomposed to nothing but fragments of bone. How could it transform into a zombie?" Yang Guang explained.

Ling Feng frowned: "Could it be that the body was preserved when the person died?"

"That’s possible. But why would someone do that?" Yang Guang asked.

"To wait for this exact moment," Chen Yan chimed in.

Everyone turned their gaze to her. Chen Yan shrugged her shoulders: "What? Isn’t it possible that this was planned all along?"

"Prepared a hundred years ago?"

Ling Feng furrowed his brows, finding the possibility shocking—but not implausible!

What kind of person would craft such a grand scheme, meticulously plotting a hundred years in advance to ensure zombies emerged at this moment?

Suddenly, an idea hit him. He raised his head and said to the group: "It’s really possible!"

Ling Feng then revealed the identity of the tomb’s owner to everyone.

After listening, Chen Yan’s theory gained even more weight: "See? If my guess is correct, similar incidents might be occurring elsewhere. Hu Tiesheng is likely gathering his old followers!"

"Uh..."

Ling Feng was blown away by the boldness of Chen Yan’s deduction.

But undeniably, her analysis seemed reasonable—perhaps even probable!

He nodded: "Alright, we’ll figure it out soon enough!"

Ling Feng turned to leave, and Yang Guang immediately caught up, asking, "Uncle, how are you planning to confirm this?"

"Gather information. If similar occurrences are reported in other villages, the locals are bound to contact the police," Ling Feng replied.

The group descended the mountain. Chen Yan and the others went to the construction site to check things out, while Ling Feng teleported back to Nine Heavens.

From there, he transferred to Longyuan and the first person he saw was Zhang He, dressed in his police uniform.

"Hey, a rare guest! How’s the trip going?" Zhang He asked, grinning.

"Pretty good. I’ve got something I need the department’s help with."

Ling Feng wasted no time explaining the situation and his request.

"That’s no problem. I’ll send out a notice right away!"

Zhang He nodded and led him to the office.

Noticing that Chen Ping wasn’t around, Ling Feng asked curiously, "Where’s Director Chen?"

"He’s on vacation. For now, I’m handling things here," Zhang He replied.

"No way! He’s on vacation at a time like this?"

Ling Feng looked stunned and a bit speechless.

Zhang He glanced at him: "What’s the matter? He’s human too. After working here for a full year, can’t he take a break?"

"That’s not what I meant. So, when can I take a vacation?" Ling Feng asked.

"Oh, stop whining. Have you been busier completing tasks than you’ve been lounging around? And you want a vacation?"

Zhang He gave him the side-eye before continuing: "You’re not in a rush, right? So shall we chat for a while?"

"No way, hurry up with it!"

Ling Feng sighed helplessly and stopped talking.

After Zhang He sent out the notice, he looked up and said, "The responses from various areas might come in at different speeds. You’ll need to wait for a bit."

Ling Feng nodded: "Alright, I’ve got nothing urgent right now. Guess I’ll wait then!"

About an hour later, reports from police departments and stations around Shennongjia started showing up on Zhang He’s computer. Surprisingly, cases similar to Hu Dalin’s were appearing in quite a few places!
