The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1115 Envious, right?

Chapter 1115 Envious, right?

The more Hu Dalin thought about it, the more he felt the direction he was heading led to that same place.

When everyone arrived close to the spot, Ling Feng actually let out a sigh of relief.

It was indeed the grave that had been robbed previously!

Because there were so many people this time, everyone approached the site. They saw a pitch-black entrance, with the loose dirt Ling Feng had previously filled in now completely cleared away and scattered outside.

Judging by the marks, it really looked like something had pushed the dirt out from within the grave!

The group stared in silence at the scene before them. They looked at one another, unsure of what to make of it.

Ling Feng squinted his eyes, pondered for a moment, then asked, "Old Hu, is this your family’s grave?"

"Yes, it’s my ancestor’s grave. It’s been here for over a hundred years!" Hu Dalin replied.

Ling Feng was speechless. He then continued to ask, "Does your family have any distant relatives or such?"

"Yes, why do you ask?" Hu Dalin said.

"Oh, nothing, just wondering!"

Suddenly, Ling Feng figured something out. People who had died over a hundred years ago would likely have a vast lineage by now, possibly growing into a clan with hundreds of descendants.

A large family like that probably wouldn’t lack a few bad apples—that wouldn’t be surprising!

After saying this, he looked back at the group. "Everyone, don’t panic. I’ll go down and take a look to see what’s going on!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he jumped down into the hole!

The others, including Hu Dalin, didn’t even have time to react before Ling Feng had disappeared from view!

The group exchanged glances, none of them daring to say a word.

In their hearts, they couldn’t help but marvel at Ling Feng’s nerve. His guts were something else!

This was a grave, after all. Jumping in without a second thought—wasn’t he afraid something unclean might be inside?

While the others remained outside in awe, Ling Feng had already made his way through the tunnel and into the tomb.

What he saw left him somewhat speechless.

The corpse he had thrown in earlier was now nowhere to be seen. The coffin ahead had decayed, its splintered remains scattered all across the ground.

And where the corpse should have been—there was nothing but an empty space!

"Damn it, could it really have been a corpse transformation?"

Ling Feng muttered to himself, thinking he should’ve checked it out earlier. Now he was at a loss, unsure whether there had ever been a corpse here to begin with!

But none of that mattered now. At the very least, the body of that guy killed by his accomplice had vanished!

The only explanation was that it somehow came back to life, dug through the soil, and made its escape!

Even worse, it might not have been alone—the person buried here for over a hundred years could’ve emerged with it!

The thought sent a chill down Ling Feng’s spine!

He realized the gravity of the situation. If there really had been a corpse transformation, and the undead hadn’t ventured far, then the villagers of Shankou Village were in grave danger!

With this realization, Ling Feng turned and exited the tomb.

When the group saw Ling Feng emerge, they immediately gathered around him. "How is it?" they asked.

"When you all go back, tell your families immediately that starting today, no one is to wander into the mountains or go out at night. Once it gets dark, stay indoors!" Ling Feng said sternly.

"Huh? What’s going on?" the crowd asked, confused.

"I can only say this for now: there’s a high chance a corpse transformation has occurred. A zombie might have crawled out!" Ling Feng explained.

"Hiss!"

Everyone gasped. The more timid among them even felt their legs turn to jelly on the spot!

Hu Dalin panicked even more—first, as the Village Chief, he was responsible for the safety of every villager; second, the thought of his ancestor undergoing a corpse transformation was almost too much for him to bear.

He suddenly dropped to his knees with a thud, clinging to Ling Feng’s leg. "Mr. Ling, please! You must help Shankou Village and the Hu Family!"

Ling Feng glanced at him. "I understand your concern. Don’t worry, I’ll handle this matter properly!"

He didn’t mention anything about the grave’s owner and their past dealings with Hu Tiesheng because there were too many people around. He planned to inquire when the timing was more private.

Afterward, the group left the hillside and returned to the village.

Before teleporting to Nine Heavens, Ling Feng made a special stop at Hehua’s house.

He hadn’t spotted her family earlier, so he wanted to notify them personally.

The family of three froze after hearing his warning.

Then He Ping’an cautiously asked, "Um, Mr. Ling, with something like this happening, do you think the village will be alright?"

"It’s hard to say for now. I’ll bring a friend over to inspect things later. Don’t worry, Uncle He—I’ll see this through to the end!"

"That’s great! With you here, Mr. Ling, nothing bad will happen to our village!" He Ping’an breathed a sigh of relief.

The mother-and-daughter pair quietly listened on the side, too frightened to offer any opinions. They silently decided that they wouldn’t leave the house for anything—not even to use the toilet at night!

After updating Hehua’s family, Ling Feng quickly returned to Little Lian’s home and teleported to Nine Heavens from there.

By coincidence, Ye Qian was there. Ling Feng immediately said, "Perfect timing! Saves me the trouble of heading to Longyuan to find you!"

"What’s wrong? Is there something you need?" Ye Qian asked.

"We’ve encountered something strange. Come take a look with me!"

Ling Feng said this, then noticed Yang Guang nearby. He chuckled and added, "And you! Looks like you’ve put on a bit of weight lately!"

"No, I haven’t! I’m still growing!" Yang Guang protested.

Though she was just a little girl, it was clear she didn’t like being teased about her weight—an instinct seemingly innate in all females!

Ling Feng smiled and said no more, turning to leave with both of them in tow.

Just then, Chen Yan called out and caught up with them. "I want to come too!"

"Huh? Why do you want to come?"

Ling Feng looked at the rookie from the security bureau with some confusion.

"Just to take a look around. My hometown isn’t in the mountains, but it’s a couple hundred kilometers from there!" Chen Yan explained.

"What does that have to do with anything? Are you planning a family visit?" Ling Feng asked.

"No, I just want to tag along. Honestly, when it comes to understanding the local customs, none of you know the area better than I do!" Chen Yan pouted.

"Er..."

Ling Feng was at a loss for words. He looked at her and said, "If you’re just looking to join in the fun, admit it outright. If I needed someone familiar with the local customs, I’d just ask one of the villagers. Why would I need you?"

"Alright, fine—I just want to tag along!"

Chen Yan admitted cheerfully with a nod.

"That’s more like it!"

Chen Han laughed and said, "Let’s go then!"

Just as they were about to leave, Little Lian stepped forward. "Um, can I come back to visit too?"

"Of course, no problem. Missing home, are we?" Ling Feng immediately changed his tone, speaking to her with a warm smile.

Chen Yan stomped her foot in frustration! It was clear he was treating her differently!

Right on cue, Yang Guang turned to Chen Yan and said, "What’s the matter? Jealous? If you’ve got the guts, go give Uncle Ling a child, too!"

"You!"

Already annoyed, Chen Yan felt her anger boil over at Yang Guang’s comment. She raised a hand, ready to strike!
