The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1109: Wait a Bit Longer

Chapter 1109: Wait a Bit Longer

"No, it’s nothing."

Hehua avoided Ling Feng’s gaze, biting her lip gently as she spoke.

Ling Feng could tell she was feeling shy and thought to himself, "Is it really that bad? Is she just overly reserved or overly sensitive?"

With that thought, a mischievous idea suddenly popped into his mind, so he began to massage her foot gently.

As he moved his hands, a warm energy seeped into Hehua’s meridians.

Moments later, the young girl was already panting lightly!

"So she really does have an overly sensitive body!"

Understanding the reason, Ling Feng didn’t say much and intentionally changed the subject: "The mountain must have a wealth of resources, right?"

"Huh?"

Hehua hesitated, completely unaware he was trying to divert her attention, and replied, "The mountain produces mostly medicinal herbs and various types of mushrooms."

"Really? I actually know a little about mushrooms. What’s the best kind that grows around here?" Ling Feng asked.

"There are porcini mushrooms and matsutake mushrooms; both are very expensive!" Hehua said.

"Oh, it’s likely out of season now, but if we find some later to collect and bring back, we could have a tasty treat!" Ling Feng said.

Hehua had already forgotten about her earlier embarrassment and the tingling sensation in her foot. Shaking her head, she said, "No, there are still some now, but in half a month, there won’t be anymore until next year."

"Is that so?"

Ling Feng smiled: "Then once your foot heals, you can take me to gather some mushrooms later!"

"But it’s sprained—can it really heal that fast?" Hehua asked.

Ling Feng looked up at her: "Did you forget I’m a Divine Doctor? This little injury is nothing."

"That’s true—my foot really doesn’t hurt as much anymore!" Hehua finally directed her attention back to her foot and exclaimed in surprise.

Cradling her soft foot, Ling Feng couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased, so he continued to knead it lightly before saying, "Don’t worry—soon your foot will be fine, not only allowing you to walk but to jump around as usual!"

"Thank you," Hehua said.

Ling Feng laughed: "No need to thank me. You came into the mountain with me; how could I let you go back injured?"

Neither spoke further, and the surroundings fell silent.

A moment later, Ling Feng let go of her foot: "Alright, try putting on your shoe and moving around; it’s all healed!"

"Oh, okay."

While putting on her shoe, Ling Feng thought to himself, "This girl grew up in the mountains, yet her skin is so smooth—her ankles and everything above are really fine and delicate!"

Once Hehua had put on her shoes and taken a few steps on the ground, a joyous smile immediately appeared on her face: "You’re truly a Divine Doctor—it feels as if I was never injured at all!"

"I told you, with me here, everything’s fine!" Ling Feng said with a laugh.

"Mhm!"

Hehua nodded, her face flushing slightly: "Um, I... I need to go to the bathroom."

"Go ahead, but don’t wander too far. Stay nearby, and I’ll turn my back," Ling Feng said.

Hehua’s face turned even redder, thinking to herself, "How can that be alright?"

The mere thought of him hearing anything felt overwhelmingly awkward.

Not saying a word, she turned around with a flushed face and walked further away.

Ling Feng, of course, wouldn’t use Divine Sense to spy on someone; he had no interest in such things.

Hehua walked about twenty or thirty meters before deciding this distance was sufficient. Glancing back to ensure Ling Feng was facing away, she finally removed her pants.

After finishing, she cleaned up with tissue from her pocket, but her face suddenly reddened even more!

Her cursed sensitive body—just a little foot massage earlier, and yet...

Unfortunately, being in the middle of the wilderness, she could only make do for now and thought to herself she’d change clothes once home.

With that thought, she quickly got up, put her pants back on, and returned to Ling Feng’s side.

"Brother Ling, when do you plan to head back?" Hehua asked.

"I haven’t decided yet—are you eager to return?" Ling Feng replied.

The two tacitly avoided mentioning the earlier events.

Hehua shook her head: "Not at all; I was just asking. You can return whenever you want—I’ll follow your lead."

"Alright."

Ling Feng nodded and gently pulled her down to sit beside him: "There’s something I haven’t told you. Honestly, I didn’t come here purely to explore the abandoned village; I actually have serious matters to attend to."

Not wanting to leave in a hurry, he decided to explain the general situation to Hehua, hoping she’d understand.

When Hehua finished listening, her eyes widened in shock: "Oh my goodness—you mean there are many people hiding in the mountains?"

Learning about the Xinglong Gang, she felt as though she was listening to a suspenseful tale.

Ling Feng nodded: "That’s the current hypothesis. But based on what we’ve seen so far, Hu Family Village doesn’t appear to be their base; otherwise, we’d have discovered something here."

"What do you plan on doing then?" Hehua asked.

"I still feel this place might have a connection to the Xinglong Gang, so I want to stay a bit longer," Ling Feng said.

Hehua made a small sound of acknowledgment and then softly said, "Then I’ll stay with you."

Ling Feng hesitated for a moment: "This isn’t a great spot; let’s find a more hidden place. If it gets late and we still don’t see any movement, then we’ll return—it won’t take too long anyway."

"Mhm!"

Hehua nodded firmly, feeling an immense trust in him; whatever Ling Feng said, she had no objections whatsoever!

Following Ling Feng, the two left the abandoned site of Hu Family Village and quickly reached the base of a cliff.

Here, sunlight no longer reached, making it a bit dim, although visibility wasn’t entirely lost.

Ling Feng found a flat area and, next, retrieved a moisture-proof mat from his bracelet, which he laid on the ground.

Hehua stared blankly yet again, stammering: "Is... is this magic too?"

"Yeah, impressive, isn’t it?" Ling Feng replied with a grin.

"How... how do you even do that? It defies all logic!" Hehua exclaimed in amazement.

Ling Feng chuckled: "Logic exists for humans to uncover; some things that haven’t been discovered yet naturally seem extraordinary!"

"What does that mean?"

Hehua was baffled, her expression full of confusion.

"It means our understanding of this world is still far from complete."

Ling Feng smiled and, unexpectedly, started to open up: "Take what I’m doing today, for instance. If I told you it’s all to find a Prince from the Qing Dynasty—a man who’s likely over 160 years old—you wouldn’t believe it, would you?"

"What?"

Hehua shivered and immediately looked bewildered.

Realizing he’d spoken out of turn and frightened her, Ling Feng quickly grabbed her hand: "Don’t be afraid—with me here, you’ll be fine!"

"You’re not joking, are you?" Hehua asked hesitantly.

"I’m not lying to you," Ling Feng replied earnestly.

"Oh my goodness..."

Hehua muttered, then took a deep breath: "That’s really beyond my imagination!"

"It’s okay—if you’re interested, I’ll show you some things about this world that are hard to comprehend!"

Ling Feng chuckled and comforted her with a reassuring tone.
