The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1110: Unexpected Guest

Chapter 1110: Unexpected Guest

In the following hours, Ling Feng explained to Hehua about the Security Bureau, Superpower Users, and the classification of realm levels.

He talked for nearly two hours; Hehua was initially dumbfounded, then gradually began understanding things she’d never heard before, and by the end, she was thoroughly overwhelmed.

But she also knew Ling Feng wouldn’t lie to her. Everything he said had to be true—otherwise, how could anyone move so swiftly when they entered the mountain earlier?

After processing this, Hehua glanced at Ling Feng and murmured, "I never imagined the outside world could be like this!"

"Indeed, I was just like you; I knew little about this world," Ling Feng replied with a smile.

Night fell quickly in the mountains. By now, the sun was already leaning westward, and sunlight had vanished from the valley. It wouldn’t take long for the sky to turn completely dark.

Ling Feng hesitated for a moment. His intuition told him that staying put would eventually reveal something, but with Hehua alongside him, he turned and asked, "It’s getting late—do you want to head home now?"

"No, I’ll listen to you. If you want to return, we’ll go back. If not, I’ll wait here with you," Hehua replied.

"Oh, thank you!"

Feeling touched, Ling Feng couldn’t resist patting her head.

To Hehua, this subconscious action seemed incredibly affectionate. Her face flushed immediately, and she quickly lowered her head, not daring to let Ling Feng see.

A while later, as the sky dimmed and the valley transitioned into nighttime, voices suddenly came from the distance!

Ling Feng initially thought he was imagining things. But when he swept his Divine Sense, he immediately confirmed—someone was indeed approaching!

From the valley’s entrance, an old man and a youth were walking toward them.

Both wore coarse cloth garments, had straw hats slung over their backs, and carried shoulder pouches. In their hands, each held a long sword!

The sight brought to mind wandering swordsmen from martial arts films.

It was ironic—this was modern society, after all. Ling Feng didn’t expect to encounter such people.

Given the surrounding environment, it truly felt as though they’d stepped into another era!

By this time, the pair had entered the valley. The youth said, "Master, we’ve finally arrived at the spot, right?"

"Yes, this is the place. Find somewhere to set up a cooking pot," the elderly man replied.

The youth frowned. "Cook? For what? Let’s hurry up and find the thing, then head back. Are we really staying here tonight?"

"Don’t rush; things won’t go so smoothly. Like I said, we’re staying in the mountains for a while," the elder countered.

"This crappy place where even birds won’t land—who’d want to stay here?" The youth grumbled impatiently.

The old man said nothing, merely casting a glance at him, his eyes filled with fondness.

Ling Feng observed this and thought, What’s this duo up to? What are they here looking for?

"Brother Ling, is someone here?"

The valley was very quiet, so Hehua had also heard faint traces of conversation. She asked softly.

"Mm, don’t worry. We’re not sure what this pair came for yet. Let’s keep watching," Ling Feng said.

Hehua paused, then questioned, "How do you know it’s a pair of people?"

"Heh, I saw them," Ling Feng replied with a grin, withholding the detail about his Divine Sense.

At that moment, a soft, trembling body leaned against him. Glancing back, Ling Feng noticed Hehua shivering slightly and quickly asked, "Are you feeling cold?"

"A little," Hehua nodded.

She was wearing thin autumn clothes, which weren’t warm enough. Now that night had descended, the temperature had dropped several degrees, making her feel chilly.

Ling Feng promptly retrieved a thicker piece of clothing from his bracelet.

It was something Lin Xue had left behind during last winter’s heavy snow.

Hehua wasn’t surprised anymore. As she put it on, a faint scent lingered, prompting her to ask, "This is that elder sister’s coat, isn’t it?"

Ling Feng was momentarily stunned before realizing she was referring to Chen Yuhe. He didn’t explain further and instead smiled, saying, "Yes."

Hehua simply replied, "Oh," and didn’t inquire further.

Ling Feng’s attention shifted entirely to the elder and youth. By now, the two had settled near Hu Family Village’s old site, finding a flat area to sit down. The elder was already constructing an earthen stove on the ground.

Meanwhile, the youth stood idle nearby, restlessly looking around.

Ling Feng grew increasingly curious but hesitated to approach them and strike up a conversation. He mused that it might be better to wait; after all, their identities were unclear—who knew if they were friend or foe? Better to observe first!

The youth spoke again: "Master, it’s freezing here. Are we seriously sleeping out in the open tonight?"

"When traveling, you must adapt to your surroundings," the elder replied leisurely while lighting a fire.

"Easy for you to say! You might not fear the cold, but I can’t stand it!"

Impatiently, the youth declared, "Nope! I’m finding a mountain cave! No way I’m sleeping in the open with you!"

He turned and walked off. The elderly man didn’t stop him, but shook his head with a resigned smile.

Ling Feng shook his head too, thinking, What kind of disciple is this? Such disrespect toward his master!

No discipline at all!

The youth was now searching along the mountain wall for a cave.

Ling Feng had already scanned the area with his Divine Sense and knew there were no suitable spots for shelter. Watching the youth was a pointless endeavor.

Seeing the youth moving closer to their position, Ling Feng reasoned there was no need to avoid him. Turning to Hehua, he said, "Looks like we’ll have to chat with them!"

"Mm."

Hehua tensed slightly but nodded with pursed lips.

Ling Feng noticed her nervousness and grabbed her small, icy hands. Guiding a bit of Spiritual Power into her, he warmed her body before pulling her up.

Leading her, they slowly approached the youth.

The youth was still looking around when he suddenly spotted two figures. He jumped and immediately drew his longsword, shouting, "Who’s there!"

"Just passing by!"

Ling Feng replied casually, moving closer.

In the dim light, things were hard to see, but the youth’s face showed wariness. He pointed the sword toward Ling Feng and demanded, "Passing by? What kind of pass-throughs happen in deserted mountains? Who are you really?"

"We’re from a village outside the mountains. We came in to collect herbs but got lost, so we’re resting here for now," Ling Feng explained.

As the two were conversing, a shadow flashed and rapidly approached—it was the elderly man.

His actions surprised Ling Feng, Whoa! That’s some quick movement—this old man’s definitely skilled!

The elder’s piercing gaze swept over Ling Feng before he remarked, "Young man, the Spiritual Power you possess is no ordinary villager’s!"
