Chapter 1104: Signing the Contract
Chapter 1104: Signing the Contract
With Zhao Sanquan and He Ping’an taking the lead, the other hesitant villagers had no more reservations and quickly joined in, soon unanimously agreeing.
Ling Feng chuckled and loudly said to the crowd, "Everyone, rest assured. Everything I’ve promised will come true. Later, I’ll draft a contract, and we’ll proceed according to it!"
"It doesn’t matter. We trust you. We can’t understand contracts anyway; they’re pointless!" He Ping’an said dismissively.
Ling Feng smiled. "That won’t do. The contract is proof for profit sharing. Without it, I won’t give out any money when the time comes!"
That one line amused everyone. They thought to themselves that when the time comes, they’d better safeguard the contract properly, and couldn’t afford to lose it.
Then Ling Feng turned to Hu Dalin. "Village Chief Hu, I’m not familiar with this area. I’ll leave the task of finding machinery to clear the site to you!"
"No worries. I know the excavator owner’s number. One call, and I can get the machinery!" Hu Dalin said confidently, patting his chest.
"Hmm, also, the communication here isn’t great. I’ll have to figure out a solution for that later. I’ll handle this matter myself."
Ling Feng made a comment and then said to everyone, "Alright, everyone can head back for now. Once the contracts are ready, I’ll go around and sign with each of you individually!"
Yesterday’s spur-of-the-moment idea was now getting implemented. The efficiency was truly remarkable.
But there was no other way—Ling Feng was wealthy now. They say money can make anything happen, so setting up a farming and cultivation project shouldn’t be a problem.
Returning to Nine Heavens, Ling Feng teleported to the Ling Corporation building and went upstairs to find Mo Jiaolan.
After explaining everything, Mo Jiaolan gave a wry smile. "Well, well, are you on a business trip, or are you inspecting a project?"
"A bit of both!"
Ling Feng chuckled and continued, "I don’t need you to handle the finances, but you’ll have to help me draft the contract!"
"Alright, I’ll take care of that. What about the remaining tasks? You’re repairing roads, installing phone lines, and building a farming site. Can you manage all of that alone?" Mo Jiaolan asked.
"Uh, it should be fine, right? Unless... would you help me?" Ling Feng asked.
Mo Jiaolan shook her head. "I don’t have the time. Maybe you could ask Yuhe; she might be available!"
"Really? Has her work at the hot springs been completed?" Ling Feng asked.
"Pretty much. The renovations seem done, and they’re just waiting to open in a few days," Mo Jiaolan said.
Ling Feng nodded. "Alright, then I’ll give her a call now!"
As he finished speaking, Chen Yuhe pushed the door open and came in. "I’m absolutely exhausted!"
Saying that, she spotted Ling Feng but didn’t seem surprised. She kicked off her high heels and flopped onto the sofa.
Seeing her like this, Ling Feng asked curiously, "What have you been up to?"
"Dealing with the hot spring project. I worked myself ragged, but finally, I can take a break!" Chen Yuhe said carelessly as she lay on the sofa, her long legs crossed.
"Uh, then you should take a good rest. Looks like you’re truly worn out!" Ling Feng said with a wry smile.
"What is it? You didn’t come looking for me about something, did you?" Chen Yuhe asked.
"I did have something, but never mind," Ling Feng replied.
Chen Yuhe sat up immediately. "Don’t be like that! What is it? Tell me!"
Ling Feng hesitated to speak, but Mo Jiaolan interjected. "You’d better just tell her. Her curiosity’s been piqued. If you keep quiet, she’ll feel even worse!"
"Alright!"
Ling Feng reluctantly shared the details about his project with Chen Yuhe.
After hearing it, she widened her eyes. "You’re setting up an agriculture project deep in those mountains?"
"Yeah. You haven’t tasted it before, have you? I’ve got some fire-cured ham here that’s been aging for three years. You and Jiaolan should have a try!"
Ling Feng said, taking out a few slices of ham.
The two women didn’t hold back—each grabbed a slice and popped it into their mouths. Their eyes lit up instantly!
Seeing their reactions, Ling Feng mischievously smiled and asked, "So? Tasty, isn’t it? Forgot to tell you, this is raw meat, not even processed!"
"..."
Both women froze for a moment. Then Chen Yuhe exclaimed, "If it tastes this good raw, wouldn’t it be heavenly when cooked?"
"Probably. Anyway, I found it absolutely delightful—unbelievably delicious!" Ling Feng laughed.
"I’ve heard of aged hams from the Yunnan-Guizhou region before, and I’ve even procured them in the past. But why does this one taste so much better?" Mo Jiaolan asked.
Ling Feng chuckled. "Maybe it’s Zhao San’s unique curing method. Anyway, the old guy’s going to be my technical advisor from now on, and ham curing will be his responsibility!"
"That recipe is a treasure. You’d better take good care of him!" Chen Yuhe immediately said.
"Don’t worry. Although I’ve just met the old man, we’ve built a good rapport—I’m sure it’ll be fine!" Ling Feng assured.
Chen Yuhe’s eyes sparkled, and then she said, "Since that’s the case, I’ll come and help you out!"
"No need. You’re already exhausted. You should take some time to rest," Ling Feng said with concern.
But Chen Yuhe smiled and replied, "It’s fine. Although I’m tired, I’m genuinely intrigued by that village. I really want to check it out!"
"Uh, are you sure? I’d feel terrible if you overexert yourself," Ling Feng said.
"Don’t worry about me. I’ll be just fine!" Chen Yuhe grinned.
Eventually, after Mo Jiaolan drafted the contract and made several copies, Ling Feng took the documents and left with Chen Yuhe.
The two didn’t linger at Nine Heavens, teleporting directly to Little Lian’s house.
Upon arrival, Chen Yuhe glanced around the room and asked, "This is a woman’s bedroom, isn’t it?"
"Huh? How do you know?" Ling Feng asked.
"The scent in the room—it gave me the feeling. Am I right?" Chen Yuhe asked.
"You’re right. It’s indeed a woman’s room," Ling Feng admitted.
Chen Yuhe gave an "oh" and then asked, "So, where is she?"
"She’s at Nine Heavens. I’ll explain this to you gradually," Ling Feng said with an awkward smile.
Seeing his expression, Chen Yuhe’s eyes flickered as if she understood something.
But she didn’t ask further and followed Ling Feng out of Little Lian’s house.
Next was the signing process facilitated by Hu Dalin, going door-to-door.
Since each household had different land areas, the specifics weren’t pre-printed. Everything had to be noted down while signing, which took some time. By the time they reached He Ping’an’s home at the west end of the village, the sky was already growing dark.
Entering the house, they saw the beautiful Hehua, and Chen Yuhe froze in surprise again!
She then turned to look at Ling Feng, her gaze becoming somewhat peculiar.
Ling Feng realized she was overthinking but couldn’t explain with everyone around, so he could only smile wryly.
After finishing the signing process, the He Ping’an couple insisted on inviting them to dinner, but Ling Feng politely declined.
He understood that their gesture was out of respect for him. Precisely because of this, staying for dinner would prompt them to prepare an extravagant meal, which would be too troublesome!
The two strolled away under the moonlight. After they had gone far, Hehua’s mother sighed lightly and said, "Old He, your scheme didn’t work!"
