Chapter 166: The dance 2
Chapter 166: The dance 2
It was night of the third and final day of the Gala. The Ivos Gala showcased the unity of the Human domain to the world, but in reality, it was a place where enmities would start over the auctioned items.
"Make sure to talk to the people I told you about," some parents told their kids.
Even if they attended the Gala, it didn’t mean that they were strong enough to stand against the higher tiered noble families, much less the royal Families.
That’s why most of these families would have their children make connections with the young generation of the higher tiered noble families, in order to ensure that the future of their families remained ’bright’.
Soon the guests arrived at their own reserved sections, as the time for the High society Families to arrive began.
The majestic castle where the night party would be held consisted of a Main Hall which was large enough for multiple events to happen at the same time. The Main Hall had a big screen placed there so that the Host could say a few words.
After the Formal Dance ends, the host would display the last 10 items of the auction which they held off displaying yesterday for suspense.
As the guests entered the Main Hall, there was another entrance but it was for the First Floor of the Main Hall.
All the adults would stay on the Second Floor that connected to the First Hall with a massive staircase in the middle.
Even children who were below the age of 14 would stay with their parents as the First Floor was only there for young man and women above the age of fourteen.
Soon many young men and women, mostly in pairs, started to enter the First Floor, where a sitting arrangement was also set up for them.
As the First Floor was reserved for young people, it wasn’t hard to see them observing each other openly. Unlike the adults, who didn’t reveal their intentions openly, these young people were still a bit immature in that regard. Even though they’d been trained for that by their families, they still had to be polished by the cunning high society.
One by one, the Noble Families started entering, with several eyes falling on the people that were entering now.
Each of them exuded a powerful aura, and their confidence showed that they were aware of their positions and how much power they held.
The first three Houses to enter were from Remea, and as they entered, the entire Main Hall turned vibrant red, reflecting the color of the Royal Family’s insignia.
Sevas Necron, the emperor of the Necron empire stood at the forefront. Accompanying him were Silvus Stormbreaker, the head of House Stormbreaker, and Helios Lancaster, the head of the tier 3 House in the Remea continent.
Behind them were their families trailing behind them.
Next were the Houses of the Vorde Continent, with the Darkfell Family entering first. Amon Darkfell stood at the front, and by his side was his Empress. Behind them was Bola Tinubu, the head of House Tinubu, a particularly unsightly man who looked out of place amongst... everyone present. And then there were, the Whitemores, and the Williams.
The houses of the other two continents also arrived at the second floor along with many other smaller houses. The second floor was so large and divided into many sections that it was difficult to see one person from one end to the other.
Meanwhile, as the adults settled with the smaller children on the second floor, the young men and women began arriving on the first floor in pairs of two, each with his/her partner.
Everyone was surprised to see Fabian Ashton and Delilah Whetstone entering together.
"Wow, they look so gorgeous," a girl said to her partner, who was also stunned while looking at Delilah. Both the two entered arm in arm, wearing matching outfits.
Fabian was wearing a white suit, with light blue cuffs, while Delilah donned a white dress, accentuated by a sapphire necklace.
The next two to enter were Calum and Sasha. Calum looked like he’d rather be anywhere but here, while Sasha had her signature smile on her lips.
The next to enter were two individuals, one was Hannah Hargreaves, the granddaughter of Alexa Hargreaves, the chairwoman of the Aetherial association. And accompanying her was a handsome young man who had soft blue hair and hazel eyes.
"Brother?" Delilah muttered looking at the young man. The young man as if hearing her turned and waved at her with a small smile.
"Can you believe it, my brother actually managed to convince someone to come to the gala with him." Delilah turned to Fabian, who looked like he couldn’t care less.
"How dumb must she be?" Delilah added. She couldn’t stomach the fact that there was a girl out there who her brother could convince to go to the gala with him.
After them, more young men and women kept arriving in pairs one after the other.

Meanwhile, on the second floor, all the adults were out there mingling with one another, building better relations. All the adults except for the Alpha ranked beings who were on the third floor, were doing the same.
"There she is, the ice monarch," a woman commented, observing Yvonne who sat on an empty table.
Another woman who looked about the same if not slightly older than Yvonne also joined the table and took an empty seat next to Yvonne.
"What is on your mind, Your majesty." The woman asked, her amber eyes scanning Yvonne’s expressionless face.
Yvonne calmly turned to the woman.
"You’ve been an Empress for what, three decades, and you’re still this much nosy." Yvonne said.
"Well, I can be as nosy as I want when I’m talking with my friend can’t I? So, what is on your mind?" The woman asked smiling. This woman was Fiona Ashton, the empress of the Ashton Empire. Fiona and Yvonne had been friends since their school days in the Astral Mystic Institute, but a divide happened when they married their respective spouses. They had only met around two times since then.
"I just have the sudden urge to kill someone." Yvonne replied.
"Who is it?" Fiona whispered. "Is it Alisha Von Drake? God knows, that woman has been getting on my nerves."
The two continued to converse, but their conversations paused as Alisha herself walked towards them together with another woman.
"How do you like the event, Your Majesties? I took great joy in designing everything myself."
"I do not have enough words to describe it’s magnificence, lady Drake." Fiona shook her head with a smile. "And I’m sure Yvonne thinks the same as well."
The woman accompanying Alisha who looked to be in her late thirties turned to Yvonne. "How are you doing, Your Majesty? We parted on not particularly good terms last time, and have not had the chance to meet ever since." She said in a faux concerned tone.
"I’m doing quite fine, thank you. And yes, we haven’t had the chance to meet ever since that day." Yvonne nodded. But Fiona didn’t miss the subtle body language of her friend. This woman was Gina Whetstone, the wife of the hard of the Whetstone family, and Elsa’s mother.
"I also heard that your son has been called back to the family." Gina said carefully.
"So what if he has?" Yvonne’s expression turned from expressionless to chilling cold. "Know your place." She warned.
"I meant no disrespect, Your Majesty." Gina said awkwardly after being reprimanded.
Soon, Yvonne felt a probe at her mental barriers, but ignored the probe and allowed it access.
’I take it this is the woman you’re having the urge to kill, isn’t it?’ Fiona’s voice echoed in her mind.
’You’re quite right. I wish I could erase her this instant.’ Yvonne affirmed.
’You know the two of them coming together is a power play right?’ Fiona continued.
Yvonne knew that too, the two had come to showcase their fragile alliance, or rather the relationship between Alistair and Elsa. Alisha wanted to show Yvonne that her son won over Yvonne’s.
’Yes I do. But what do they hope to prove? I know her daughter isn’t and will never be worthy of my son, nor is Alisha’s son better than my son.’ Yvonne replied.
’Hehe, a mother will always believe her child is the best, regardless of their shortcomings. I’m curious about something though, if you believe her daughter is unworthy of your son, why did you try to get them engaged?’ Fiona asked.
’I have... my reasons.’ Yvonne said.
"We’ll be taking our leave, hope you enjoy the rest of the Gala, Your Majesty."Alisha said and Gina smiled mockingly as both she and Alisha turned away.
’I will end this woman today itself, Whatever it takes.’ Yvonne vowed to herself.
