Chapter 167: The dance 3

Chapter 167: The dance 3

‎"Do you think, Damon’s still coming?" Ariel asked Rose as both stood over a table.

‎Rose wore a dress that looked like it was made from the scales of a reptile. The dress was crystal white, and the scales adorning it were icy blue in color, and were reflecting the light of the chandeliers above.

‎Ariel meanwhile, wore a dark gown with metallic grey accents that hugged her figure, and flowed downwards. Both the Darkfell sisters had arrived earlier, and since Rose didn’t have a partner, Ariel decided to accompany her.

‎Most young men kept eyeing the Darkfell sisters, too afraid to approach.

‎"I do not know." Rose shook her head.

‎"Sigh, let’s not think about it, even if he comes, he can’t join the Formal Dance without a partner." Ariel said. "That’s why I urged you two to partner up."

‎"My answer to that is still no."

‎"At this rate someone is going to die single." Ariel said.

‎"What do you mean by that?" Rose asked making Ariel look the other way.

‎And just in time, two people arrived in the hall and instantly took everyone’s attention.

‎Alistair strode in confidently, his arm resting on Elsa’s waist. "Oh my God, how could something this beautiful exist?" A girl chirped next to her partner.

‎"I’ll let him hold my waist anytime." Another girl said.

‎"The girl is also stunning." a boy stared.

‎The two looked straight out of a fairy tale. Alistair wore a gold suit that shone with a resplendent glint, and brought out his eyes even more, with his boots, cuffs, and tie all in black.

‎Elsa on the other hand, wore a white gown, it’s designs embroidered in gold and blue accents. She then wore a blue necklace that complemented her azure eyes and her white hair flowed down her back in waves.

‎The two looked extremely stunning together, so they obviously attracted everyone’s attention. Especially with Alistair’s reputation.

‎Fabian and Delilah met up with them, and they turned into a group of four. "The center of today’s attention have already begun gathering, sister." Ariel said. "I think you should head there, after all a Darkfell can’t be missing in centers of attention."

‎"I understand." Rose nodded, before she left Ariel there, and walked over to the group of four.

‎"Wow, Rose, your dress is stunning, where did you get it, can I get one just like this?" Delilah beamed and began throwing questions after questions.

‎"Thank you." Rose smiled slightly. "I had it made from the skin of a snake like beast I encountered during the egg challenge phase." Rose explained.

‎After defeating that ice snake in the ice caves during the egg challenge phase, Rose had promised to turn it’s skin into a dress. So while she had been wondering on what to wear during the formal dance, the snake’s skin in her storage came to her mind.

‎"Truly, it’s currently the most stunning dress on this floor." Elsa remarked with a small smile. Inwardly though, she was envious. Her dress had personally been made by Alisha Von Drake, a world renowned designer, but her dress, while stunning in its own right, wasn’t as dazzling as Rose’s.

‎"Good to see you Rose, you look stunning." Alistair gave his signature sunny smile. "Is your brother really not attending even the night party or the formal dance?" Alistair asked.

‎"That I’m not sure of, but he fully expressed his intentions on not wanting to come with the family." Rose replied.

‎"Lets leave talks about Damon, and familiarize ourselves with the other guests, the formal dance should be starting in an hour or so." Elsa said.

‎"How do we do that?" Delilah asked. "There are crown princes and princesses on this floor, and there are many other of our older siblings that mostly view us as not yet grown up, and prefer to socialize with themselves instead."

‎"I agree with that, at the moment, we’re still cubs amongst wolves." Alistair nodded. Even Rose agreed with that, most people preferred to socialize with Aldrich as he was the crown prince, and they couldn’t approach Ariel.

‎However, just as Alistair said that, Fabian’s face changed as a group of slightly older young men and women walked towards the group.

‎"You’re Alistair Von Drake right? I’m Kamden Ashton, the crown prince of the Ashton empire, nice to finally see the crown jewel of this generation in person." Kamden who was at the lead smiled as he extended a hand to Alistair.

‎"It is my pleasure, Your highness." Alistair smiled taking his hand.

‎"You are not happy to see me?" Kamden said as he turned towards Fabian.

‎"Not really," Fabian replied, and Kamden shook his head with a smirk.

‎"You partnering up with a Whetstone, father is not going to like this, and nor will the Whetstone Emperor." Kamden said. The four royal families of the human domain did not take well to mixing their bloodlines, and wouldn’t accept anything that could lead to that even remotely.

‎Fabian scowled.

‎"What I do has nothing to do with you." He said, making Kamden smile.

‎"By the way, is Damon Darkfell not attending the Gala? I heard the fallen prince had risen from his ruins." Kamden asked, but Damon’s name made almost everyone’s face change, safe for Fabian and Rose.

‎Kamden looked around, and he could guess that most of them were not on good terms with Damon seeing that mentioning his name was enough to get this sort of reaction.

‎"I don’t know, honestly. Rose said he wasn’t willing to come with them, so he might not attend," Fabian replied as he broke the silence.

‎"Oh, and here I was hoping to meet him," Kamden said.

‎"I don’t know you were so interested in my brother." A black haired man with striking grey eyes framing his face, walked over with an entourage.

‎"Aldrich Darkfell, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Kamden smiled.

‎"I overheard you talking about a Darkfell, so of course I had to come over." Aldrich also smiled.

‎ "Well, since that is the case, I should be taking my leave."

‎"It just so happens that I have a few things to discuss with you." Aldrich said, and the two along with their ’lackeys.’ left together.

‎Both of them were famous worldwide as they were present in a lot of Social Events because they were the oldest sibling, and the respective crown princes of their empires.

‎After the two left, the group of five continued their conversations.

‎---------

‎After some time, the reporters outside the Portal were standing still.

‎"Let’s wrap this up. Nobody will come now," One of them said as they looked at the time. The Formal Dance was about to begin, and the Broadcast would start.

‎"Hey, another airship is approaching," One of them pointed it out as they pulled out their camera. The rest all also did the same.

‎They were curious about who entered this late, and they were not disappointed, especially when they noticed the airship carried the Darkfell insignia.

‎The airship arrived and landed on an empty space.

‎And at the next moment, they saw a young man with striking grey eyes, and they instantly recognized him.

‎But what surprised them was in fact his partner, as they had never seen such a person in the High Society.

‎"Do you know her?" One of them spoke out.

‎"Look her hair, you idiot." Another answered. "The signature hair color of the Necron family. Could she be...."

‎They didn’t miss a chance to take all the photos, and the young man didn’t care.

‎Because, after all, their entry in the Gala would be the last thing to be mentioned everywhere.

‎"Did we really have to change clothes?" Damon muttered as he adjusted his cuffs.

‎"I thought you wanted our entrance to be grand." Anastasia replied. "Besides, I already had the costumes commissioned since the moment I decided to ask you to be my partner."

---------

Around thirty minutes ago, as the airship set course for Agin flying island, Anastasia walked up to Damon.

"We’ll have to change into new clothes." Anastasia said. "Change into these." She dropped a suit atop his head.

"What are we changing for? I assure you my outfit is perfectly fine the way it is." Damon frowned.

"Just trust me." Anastasia said. "Plus, I’ll take it as an apology for you tricking me into using my favor on what you wanted."

"Just to clarify, I don’t force you to do anything, I was just unwilling to move unless you did." Damon defended, but still took the suit, and stood up to go change.

After that, Anastasia too went to change into her own outfit. She had only let her handmaidens dress her up because they insisted, and she couldn’t say no to them.
