"Now, bring on those stats!" John said, enjoying his drink and eagerly awaiting the results of all that training. He already had a sense of where he stood, but he tried not to look at the numbers often; instead, he focused on the process of getting them.

"Oh! I forgot about the quest rewards." John said as he quickly glanced at the list before starting again at the top.
"Yeah, you had the chance to finish it. You could have just rolled over and made love to Yu, and boom, you would have a lot more tools to play with."
"Hah, she wants to wait until after we are married now. I'm good with that. No need to rush anything. Besides, I have all these new things to master first. Like this Ki stuff. Anything you can tell me about that?"
"Sure. Ki, or Chi, is pretty much one of the ultimate powers within the Omniverse outside of Concept Magic. It uses your own life force as its energy source. It is the basis of many other skills, such as chakras, senijutsu, touki and a plethora of other techniques. Its main drawback is that it takes a long, long time to master. Not to mention, your body will fail long before you can peak it out as a normal human being, though you do have about 100 000 years or so to master it if you so choose."
"I see... 100 000? Oh, right. I forgot that the Takeyama fruit will give me a long life." John mused, "So, any hints on which world has some masters I could seek training from with it?"
"Well, The Great Cleric has a primitive form of it that most adventurers use, but that is tied to their systems. Your best bet will be in High School DXD or Warcraft, though Warcraft would pretty much require you to travel far away from where the action is to get training. I'm not sure you're in any position to just bugger off and join a monastery right now."
"And I can't go back to DXD until I get resurrection magic."
"You can, but you won't."
"I'm not letting the kid die, Alec."
"You know, there are a lot of people who would like Issei not to be around. He is such a bad protagonist that even when he grew up more, he was still looking at more boobs, talking about boobs, and worshipping boobs. I mean, Rias's whole peerage pretty much became part of his harem, and he still had others on the side."
"What?"
"Oh, right, you haven't seen the show or read the manga. His goal in life is to get stronger and become the harem king. After Rias resurrected him as a devil, it was a slow and painful path to get there, but he did."
"That little peeping tom? And Rias knows resurrection magic?"
"Well, he would become a devil. It is resurrection, albeit different from what the Paladin one you are already aware of."
"So, I could just go back there and call her, and she would come resurrect him? That easy?"
"Yep, you could. But you would probably lose any chance of joining her peerage if you did... Issei took up all of her pawn pieces, and you are rather powerful yourself right now. It would be either you or him."
John thought about it for a moment. Something made him almost angry to think that kid would have all those devils as part of his harem, which was weird, since other than the lap pillow, John had no such thoughts about them. Sure, Rias was beautiful, but he already had many beautiful women in the worlds he was visiting; it took more than looks to get him interested.
God, what am I even thinking? I have other shit to do first before I go back there anyway.
"Why tell me all this?"
"Because you already figured out a game plan, so our earlier offer is moot. No reason to hide everything from you now, and I get to tease out some feelings from you in the process. Besides, if you took Rias's virginity next, you would gain something special from that quest. She is your best candidate in all the remaining worlds. Well, there is one other, but you haven't met her yet."
"Jesus, not everything is about gaining greater power... That said, what I would like is an instructor for this Ki."
"Well, DXD is the world you want for that. So get cracking. Any questions about your rather impressive stats?"
"No. It's looking pretty damn good."
"That mana cycling you figured out is pretty broken. You will plateau eventually, as you are just a normal human, but it will help you get there faster."
Normal human? Are there other types of humans?
"John, you are in DEN. There are tons of different beings you could become. Take Xiaolin, for example. She was a normal human but became a tigerfolk in one world and upgraded to a Tamaranean in another. You have the potential to become any number of things in some of these worlds. Devil, Angel, High Human, the list goes on. For example, the devils in DXD almost have no upper limit to their power, putting them on the same level as gods in most pantheons. There are some drawbacks, but I won't get into those right now."
"I understand. How many stat points to bump me up to the next level of mana?" He asked, trying to get them back on track. He had no idea what a Tamaranean was, but it was something to ask Xiaolin the next time they had some downtime.
"To get to 150, you need to use 35 stat points, then the next step of 200 would be 56 points."
He considered it for a moment, then brushed it off for now. He would do it soon, but wanted to see if he could shatter the canon of one of these last two doors first to get a bit of a buffer of stat points before he spent his tokens to upgrade it.
"Toss all twelve of my points into my Intelligence. Then give me five rolls of eroge, please." John said. It was the only stat he couldn't train as part of his exercise routine, and would give his mana regen a boost and increase his spell power. He was still saving his gatcha tokens for a rainy day.
Plus, there was a whole host of upgrades I could buy for Suzy Q if I end up needing to use her. I could fill her full of Clan tech easily enough.
"Done!"

"What? I almost forgot I had ALS as well as Alzheimer's. I never really had too many issues with shaking limbs or anything." John said, testing out his limbs.
"Well, you usually had symptoms of both happening simultaneously. When your brain stops working, you kind of forget the rest."
"Fair enough," He replied and looked the list over again. Curiously, he stuck his tongue out and tried to lick his nose. Indeed, he could touch his nose with his tongue now.
"I want some of that next time we are on a date, hon!" Xiaolin called out from her little curtained area, causing him to bring his tongue back into his mouth. She was dressed a little more conservatively than usual, wearing a nice yellow sundress that hid her cleavage, but otherwise was just as beautiful as ever.
"You always want to play with these weird things I get from the Eroge." He replied, giving her a smile.
"Of course! It makes things spicier!"
"Did you two need a room for a bit? Or are you ready to head off to your next world?
"Actually, mind if I grab some snacks from the break room first? This Ki usage is really making me hungrier."
"Of course. It does increase your appetite. All your appetites."
"What do you mean by all?"
"Haven't you noticed yet? Wanting to have sex even more? Becoming more accepting of having a harem so you can have more women? It's because of that Quirk."
"Oh for the love of... You know what, whatever. Its bonuses are too much to set aside because of some cravings. I will just have to fight my urges even more."
"Good luck with that, John," Alec said with a laugh. "This is DEN. You're allowed to be a little greedy, you know."
"I thought I already was."
"Hardly. Go grab your snack. The Pink door will be waiting for your return."
"Got it. Let's go, dear." John said, standing up and grabbing Xiaolin.
They had a nice little reunion, with her straddling his lap and feeding him a plate of snacks. After a bit, a couple of the other DEN workers arrived in the break room and joined them at the table. One was a catfolk woman with tanned skin and long black hair on her head, ears, and tail. The other looked like a man, except his skin was blue. Apparently, they were camera operators for other DEN contestants who were having breaks right now.
After that nice little distraction, he got dressed back in his leathers and belted his sword to his waist. He left the bow in MHA, but otherwise had all his gear with him.
"Good to go?" Alec asked, still seated in his chair like he hadn't moved.
"Yep! I'll see you soon!" John said. Alec was right, he did have a plan, and unless he found a door that had a similar training opportunity for a skill he already had, he didn't plan on being in any of these last two doors for long. At least not this time around.
He stepped through the Pink door and disappeared from the DEN stage. The World Randomizer changed, flickering to display his next world.
"Oh? This should be amusing." Alec said to no one in particular, swirling his drink in his hand.
