"Ack! The hell?!?" John shouted, suddenly being pelted with dozens of literal oranges as soon as he materialized into DEN. Some hit him hard enough to start juicing themselves against his body, forcing him to cover his critical bits for their safety.
"Welcome back, John," Alec said once the barrage of fruits had ended.
"Yeah. Some welcome back that was. What in the hell was that for?"
"Just trying to get you back into the right mindset. You seemed too calm and collected for returning from a world." He replied, his smug grin spreading even further across his face.
"Can you blame me? I had just woken up with two of the women I have fallen in love with in my arms and the third beginning to have sex with me, ready for my eventual return. Why wouldn't I be calm and collected?"
"Because now you get to head into yet another unknown world and have to learn everything all over again."
"God, don't remind me. Is there any way we can just, I don't know, make this an eight-door show instead?"
"We are actually considering making the shows five doors instead. Ten seems to be way too many for our contestants to follow. Do you even remember what you were doing in High School of the Dead?"
"Ah... crap, I was in the middle of getting hit with a shotgun blast, I think. We were gathering survivors... and found Rei's mother."
"Correct! Well, maybe it won't be so bad for you. Still, our concept changes won't take effect for your time here. Sorry."
"Ah, whatever. What in the hell was with that world, and why was my actual sister my sister there!" He said, taking a towel from the table beside him and wiping the sticky juices from his body.
And why am I in a housecoat again? Oh, my leathers are over there... god, why the oranges?
"For the latter, well, there is a group of gods in that multiverse who do something similar to DEN, except their goal is to make new gods to replace them. It is a bit of a sad story, as they are all sick with a disease that has started to eat away at their divinity and their minds. Your sister has been growing stronger for years now under their watch and is well on her way to attaining divinity herself." Alec said, pouring John a mug of Westria and floating it over to him.
John took it and sat down, then drank half the glass in one go while digesting Alec's words. He could feel the magical drink soothing his irritation immediately; everything that was happening within that world was being pushed to the back of his mind, not forgotten but put on the back burner for now. It was a damn good drink.
So my sister really is on her own journey. I was hoping we got the chance to catch up before I left, but it can wait until the next time I'm there.
"For the former, it is an Alternate Universe of an anime called My Hero Academia. Midoriya is the protagonist of the original story, but in this story, the Takeyama's lore became more prominent."
"Alternate Universe? So is it a story of a story or something?"
"Something like that. Basically, the canon follows the original story beats, but has this whole other world happening behind it. Honestly, it wasn't well articulated what actually happened in this alternate universe, so we treat a lot of it as more of a side quest rather than part of the main story."
"Side quest? Wait, did I even break the show's canon? I didn't really feel it dragging on me much."
"I guess we will have to see. Any further questions?"
"Which was my New World Bonus, the cabbie? Or the dragon lady who fed me that fruit?" He asked. It had to be one of them, though he suspected it was the cabbie.
"The Undying Cabbie. He was a minor character from a silly webtoon, and the director thought it would be amusing to see a version of him in action. He charges a lot, but he will always take you to where you need to be and keep you safe from harm while in his care."
"I see... and who is the dragon lady? And why does she think I know her father?"
Alec frowned for a moment, his head bobbing around a little as he considered how much to tell him. "Let's just call her... a bonus quest. We had nothing to do with her, if that is what you're asking, but her arrival in one of your worlds seems to be a stroke of luck. If you can find a way to help her out, I'm sure we can find some suitable reward for you. As for her father, yes, you know him, and no, I won't tell you who he is."
"Always helpful. Let's go over how I did." John said, then watched as the display beside him began showing his progress in My Hero Academia.

"And how was I supposed to know that there was a magical, mind-reading, super sword in a world of superheroes and no magic? In what world would you think I, or anyone else for that matter, would even consider something like that?"
"It's fine. Here, let me just sum this stuff up." Alec said, then he started messing around with the information being displayed on the screen. "Hah, other than that first day, you did like every side quest possible and barely interacted with the actual canon. Did you know that you didn't actually completely break the canon until you killed Stain?"
"How would I have known that? I have never even heard of this cartoon before, let alone this Alternate Universe version of it. Wait, is that what the AU means for the DxD world? Is it different as well?"
"Yep, but I won't tell you what has changed. That is for the audience to figure out. Remember, this show is for them. You're just the lucky guy who gets to travel around and live out these stories."
"Right. How could I forget that every time I have an intimate moment, there are hundreds of eyes watching us?" He replied a little sarcastically.
"If it makes you feel any better, they are not just idly watching you all day. Their view frequently shifts to other people in these worlds to show them how the story has been changed by your choices. You have a surprising amount of privacy considering we could literally watch the whole omniverse at the same time if we so choose."
"I would say you need a hobby, but I suppose this is the hobby."
"Exactly. Now, this is a little mucked up, but I think I got everything." Alec said. The screen beside him started listing off stuff again, albeit slightly differently.

Stop being greedy. You got both Ki and Mana Cycling, not to mention that Sage Quirk you started with. This single world pushed you well beyond anything you were back on Earth as a younger man.
"He was the other lead antagonist. Really, killing him would change the story significantly, but All For One had time to find another broken-minded minion to be his stooge, and many canon events would still have happened, just a bit differently. As for the time he died, AFO hadn't jammed him full of overpowered Quirks yet, nor the original copy of AFO, so he wasn't as critical yet as he would become later."
"A copy of AFO? Is that the bad guys' Quirk? Is his name and Quirk the same? And it's the opposite of One For All? Why? You know what, don't answer that, I really don't want to know. The hero names were silly enough; I don't need further explanation for villain names."

That is more than enough." He said, then leaned back in his chair and took another sip of his drink. "Now, bring on those stats!"
