Chapter 202: I Want to Sleep With You
Vera Xavier sensed something was off with Nathaniel Nathan and asked, "What is it?"
His reply made her wish she could sew her mouth shut. "Nothing. Just that I kind of want to sleep with you."
Nathaniel Nathan turned to look at her and said, "I really regret the things I promised you when we got married. But don’t worry, a man of my word is a man of my word. I won’t do anything to you tonight, but I will find a way to announce our relationship as soon as possible."
Vera Xavier gave a soft cough and didn’t speak. Nathaniel Nathan asked, "Does your silence mean you agree?"
Vera Xavier: "..."
Worried about Vera Xavier’s injury, Nathaniel Nathan took her straight to the hospital. To her relief, his hand finally moved from her waist to her shoulder as they reached the entrance, making it look like he was helping her inside.
’I really want to tell him it’s my arm that’s hurt, not my leg, so I don’t need this much support!’ she thought. ’But even if I had ten times the courage, I wouldn’t dare say that to him right now.’
After the doctor examined her, he confirmed that she had only injured the muscle and hadn’t damaged any bones or tendons. Even so, the injured area was still very painful.
The doctor was about to help her massage the bruised area when Nathaniel Nathan shot him a glare. The doctor immediately handed the medicine to Nathaniel Nathan and said with an awkward laugh, "You must be her boyfriend, right? You do it!"
Vera Xavier went behind the curtain and rolled up her sleeve. When Nathaniel Nathan saw the large, dark purple bruise on her arm, his heart ached for her. His gaze darkened. "I went too easy on that bastard today!"
Vera Xavier remembered that he had already given the guy a comminuted fracture, so she said softly, "My injury is fine. It’ll heal in a few days. Luckily, the college entrance exams are still over ten days away, so it won’t affect anything."
Nathaniel Nathan didn’t say anything and began applying the medicine for her. The pain made sweat break out on her forehead. He felt a pang of sympathy but still said, "I have to rub this in hard, or it’ll hurt even more tomorrow."
"It’s my first time, be gentle!" Vera Xavier said softly.
"I’m already being very gentle. Your skin is just too delicate," Nathaniel Nathan said.
"Don’t you know how to be tender with a lady? Is this your first time, too?" Vera Xavier asked.
"Of course. I’ve given all of my firsts to you," Nathaniel Nathan said with righteous conviction.
The older doctor on duty felt a bit embarrassed. ’Young people these days,’ he thought, ’they just say whatever they want with no filter. It’s just applying some medicine, did they have to make it sound like... that? I’m really getting old. I can’t keep up with their modern way of talking!’
Half an hour later, Nathaniel Nathan finished applying the medicine for Vera Xavier. She discovered that after the medicine was rubbed in, her arm actually didn’t hurt as much!
She thanked him from the bottom of her heart, "Thank you!"
Nathaniel Nathan gave her a sidelong glance, and she immediately corrected herself, "Look at my memory! We’re family now, there’s no need to be so formal!"
Seeing that Nathaniel Nathan’s expression had softened, she decided to tease him. "The doctor said this injury will need medicine applied several more times. How about you do it for me from now on?"
"Okay," Nathaniel Nathan agreed with surprising readiness. ’Her skin is so fair, delicate, and smooth,’ he thought. ’It feels incredible to the touch.’ He was genuinely fond of the ’perk’ that came with applying her medicine.
Vera Xavier, however, thought she had misheard. She turned to look at him and saw a hint of delight in his eyes. She was a bit baffled. ’What’s he so happy about?’
When Nathaniel Nathan walked Vera Xavier to the entrance of the residential compound, he asked, "Are you sure you want to handle the matter with Wesley Kane yourself? You really don’t need my help?"
