Chapter 304: Chapter 305: Showdown

"Humph! She’s your precious cousin. Even if she murders me, I bet you wouldn’t do anything to her..."

This man kept professing his love for her, yet whenever he had to choose, he always picked Melanie Carpenter. Perhaps even Adrian Desmond himself didn’t realize that the woman he truly loved was Melanie Carpenter.

"You don’t need to be jealous of her. My kindness to her was purely out of respect for my uncle. However, she has completely squandered that. I’ve already given her a sum of money to fend for herself. From now on... I won’t interfere in her affairs anymore."

"I don’t believe you!"

If he could truly ignore Melanie Carpenter, he wouldn’t be Adrian Desmond.

"If you don’t believe me, come back to Abyanabad with me and see. I really won’t get involved with her again." He laughed, softly kissing her face, but she turned her face away in disgust, not letting him touch her.

"If I go back to Abyanabad with you, will I ever be able to return?" She wouldn’t fall for his trap.

"Are you that scared of returning to Abyanabad with me?"

"Yes."

"If I don’t force you to return to Abyanabad, will you marry me?" Adrian Desmond had thought it over these past few days; as long as she and their daughter didn’t leave him, it wouldn’t really matter where they stayed.

"Are you really willing to stay in Sileria City?" Sienna Johnson asked incredulously.

"Of course, I want to go back to Abyanabad, but if you don’t go, I won’t either." There were so many men around her, each one a wolf; he couldn’t bear to leave her alone here.

Sienna Johnson hesitated.

"What’s the story with Devin Desmond?" Sienna Johnson suddenly asked.

"Oh, he’s the child of Melanie Carpenter and Jule," Adrian Desmond explained.

Sienna Johnson stared at the man before her in shock. "You actually let another man cuckold you? You’re truly good to Melanie Carpenter. If Curly hadn’t been your biological child, you’d probably have killed me by now."

"That’s different!"

"Adrian Desmond, have you ever considered that the one you truly love might be Melanie Carpenter? Otherwise, why would you indulge her so much?"

Adrian Desmond’s heart turned completely cold. Wasn’t what he had done for her enough? How could this woman say such things?

"What is your heart made of? George?"

Sienna Johnson remained silent.

"What’s with that expression? You don’t suspect Devin Desmond is my son, do you?"

Sienna Johnson’s face was taut as she said, "Melanie Carpenter is your wife, and the son she bore is also a Desmond. Is it wrong for me to think this?"

Adrian Desmond’s face darkened. "You didn’t listen to a single word I just said! I told you, apart from you, I haven’t slept with any other woman. If Melanie Carpenter was pregnant, of course the child wasn’t mine!"

"Maybe you lost control when you were drunk."

"Just how much do you despise me, constantly pushing me towards other women..."

"Sixth Master is a hot commodity. Even if I don’t push, hordes of women will fight over him. I can’t compete with them, so Sixth Master, please, be so kind as to let me go. I’m busy; I don’t have time to fight with those women over you. Whoever fancies you can have you."

Adrian Desmond grabbed her breast forcefully, his touch punitive. "You heartless woman!"

"Ouch!"

"So, you do know pain? Do you have any idea what I’ve been through these past few days? I was injured, and you didn’t even come to see me once," he accused her with a look of profound grievance. "I’m your man, and your daughter’s biological father."

"Melanie Carpenter said that if I don’t stay far away from you, she’ll find someone to kill that little bastard Curly!" Sienna Johnson had to tell Adrian Desmond about this so he could deal with Melanie Carpenter. She was truly terrified of that woman—a woman who would give her life for Adrian Desmond. She feared Melanie Carpenter might actually do something terrible to her precious daughter.

"Adrian Desmond, I know you can’t bear to part with Melanie Carpenter, but I’m making things clear to you today: if Melanie Carpenter dares to lay a single finger on Curly, I won’t let either of you off!"

"Did she really say that?"

Sienna Johnson sneered, "Mrs. Desmond loves you so much; for your sake, she’s capable of anything."

Adrian Desmond’s expression turned solemn. He moved off her and stared into the distance for a moment before promising, "Rest assured, Curly is my daughter too. I love her no less than you do."

What Sienna Johnson wanted was this promise from Adrian Desmond. She didn’t forget to remind him, "Mrs. Desmond seems to be having some mental issues. I hope you’ll keep a close eye on her. Don’t let her go mad and hurt Curly."

"Stop calling her Mrs. Desmond; I keep thinking you’re talking about yourself. My Mrs. Desmond is you!" he glared fiercely at her.

Having achieved her goal, Sienna Johnson prepared to leave.

"I’m leaving. It looks like the wound on your leg has reopened. You should go back to the hospital. It wouldn’t be good if there are any lasting effects." As she spoke, she reached for the car door to get out, but Adrian Desmond leaned over and grabbed her hand, stopping her.

Her chin was suddenly seized by a large hand, forcing her to turn and meet his gaze. Her cheek throbbed with pain. Sienna Johnson frowned, seeing the bloodlust in his eyes. "Sienna Johnson, you’re driving me insane! I’m out of patience. Give me a straight answer! If I’m willing to stay in Sileria City for you, will you be with me?"

"We’ll see," Sienna Johnson answered ambiguously.

His face darkened, and he gave a mocking smile. "I’m not some lovesick fool who’ll prostrate himself at your feet! I want to hear what you really think! The truth!"

"My real thought is that I don’t know either. Let’s just take it one step at a time. Who knows? Maybe when I’m old and faded, Sixth Master will have a change of heart and want to marry several more wives..." she replied nonchalantly.

This completely infuriated Adrian Desmond. He shouted to Walter Klein, who was standing in the distance, "Walter Klein, drive!"

Walter Klein quickly extinguished the cigarette in his hand and ran over. He didn’t even dare to look back, terrified of seeing something he shouldn’t.

"Go to ’Wind and Beautiful Scenery’!"

’Wind and Beautiful Scenery’ was a high-end villa Adrian Desmond had purchased. He’d bought it because it was close to Fantasia Playground, Sileria City’s largest amusement park, which Curly adored. He acquired the nearby villa so Curly could rest there during her midday break.

When it came to doting on his daughter, if Adrian Desmond said he was second, no one would dare claim to be first.

"What are you taking me there for?"

Adrian Desmond remained silent, not answering her. Sienna Johnson watched him, her entire body on alert, wondering what on earth this man was planning.

The villa was indeed quite secluded, with few residents in the area. Fortunately, the residential complex was brightly lit, which alleviated some of the desolation.

Adrian Desmond limped, dragging a reluctant Sienna Johnson along, walking with great difficulty. His leg was injured again, dripping blood onto the ground with every step, yet he seemed oblivious to the pain, utterly unconcerned.

"Adrian Desmond, what on earth are you trying to do?"

The villa’s fingerprint-activated door opened. Inside, it was unlit and pitch-black. Like a man-eating monster, Sienna Johnson thought, as the hairs on her skin rose.
