Chapter 297: Chapter 298: Love Rival’s Proposal (2)

Adrian Desmond had initially intended to act magnanimous, hoping to win Sienna Johnson’s favor, but he still couldn’t bring himself to trust leaving the two of them alone together.

He got out of bed. As he put weight on his injured leg, the pain was excruciating, but he ignored it, limping to the door and pressing his ear against it to eavesdrop.

And what did he hear? His romantic rival proposing... Adrian immediately seethed, wanting to storm out, but he forced himself to wait and hear how the woman would respond.

If she dared to accept... haha... Adrian gritted his teeth.

"Brother..." Sienna called out.

"Baby, I don’t want to be your brother anymore." Noah Phillips looked firmly at Sienna Johnson, his gaze so intense it seemed to melt her heart. How could she not be moved by such a wonderful man? But... how could the Phillips Family ever accept a woman with a child? Besides, she had sworn before her father’s spirit to marry a man into her family; how could she go back on her word?

Reason triumphed over emotion. Sienna resolved to stick with her original decision: they were just like brother and sister. She was willing to do anything for Noah, but she would never be his lover, his wife...

"Brother?"

"Baby, I can’t trust anyone else with you. I don’t want you to ever encounter a man like Kenneth Brown again." Noah suddenly grabbed Sienna’s hand. A jolt went through Sienna; her mind felt like a complete muddle, more chaotic than ever.

"Baby, you promised to be my bride, remember? Have you forgotten?"

"..."

"You may have forgotten, but I haven’t. All these years, I’ve remembered. I searched for you for so many years... year after year, never giving up. When you fainted in Bluzell City, I was the one who saved you. Baby, you see? Our bond is so deep; we are destined to be together.

Baby, marry me, please? I swear I’ll make you happy."

Noah had lost his usual composure; his tone was urgent, his expression tense, clearly terrified that Sienna would reject him.

His palms were slick with sweat; this confession had taken all his courage.

Sienna stood there, dumbfounded and stunned. She knew Noah had feelings for her. For years, he hadn’t breached that unspoken boundary, and she had been content to feign ignorance. Now that everything was out in the open, Sienna didn’t know how to face it.

She looked up at the man before her. He was her type. No, rather, he was Noah, her little Drew, so of course, she liked him... It was just that...

"Brother, I don’t..."

"Don’t reject me now. Go home and think about it carefully. A lifetime is so long; you have to find someone you like. Otherwise, facing someone you don’t like for a lifetime would be so sad and full of regret... I want to be with you. Having you by my side would make my life complete and happy."

Noah’s words were incredibly moving; Sienna had to admit she was touched.

That woman was taking her time to answer. Adrian didn’t believe it was because she was afraid of hurting Noah’s pride and found it hard to refuse him. Sienna was moved. That woman was moved. He had done so much for her, spoken so many sweet words, yet she remained indifferent. He had almost believed her heart was made of stone. But then Noah confessed, and this woman wavered.

Adrian, consumed by jealousy, felt like he was drowning in it.

"Noah, I..." she began with difficulty. Before she could finish her sentence, BANG! The door to the adjacent hospital room was violently thrown open. Adrian stood there barefoot, his leg wrapped in bandages, glaring at her with a hostile expression. "Sienna Johnson, if you dare accept him, I’ll kill him right now!"

Adrian’s eyes were practically shooting fire. He felt that if he were to die one day, there would be only one cause: being angered to death by this woman, Sienna Johnson.

"You’re injured! The doctor said you shouldn’t get out of bed!" Sienna exclaimed, her heart clenching with worry as she saw his state, and she reflexively chided him.

"How could I not come out? If I hadn’t, you’d be about to cuckold me! Look at that lovesick expression on your face! You’re thrilled, aren’t you, huh? You want to marry him, don’t you?"

"Adrian Desmond, shut up!" Sienna’s face flushed red. She felt utterly humiliated by how despicably Adrian portrayed her.

"I’m not dead yet! And you, stop acting like a slut, seducing men all day!" Adrian, driven mad with anger by Sienna, roared at her.

Sienna looked extremely upset and turned to leave, but Adrian grabbed her tightly. "Where are you going?"

"Adrian Desmond, let me go!"

"Let go? Only if I’m dead!"

"Then go die!"

"And I’ll drag you down with me!"

He kissed her lips fiercely, ignoring her struggles and resistance. He was desperate to declare his ownership, to tell those men who coveted her that she belonged to him, Adrian Desmond—from head to toe, every single strand of her hair was his.

Kissing another man in front of Noah made Sienna feel incredibly uncomfortable. It was like being caught by her father while being intimate with her boyfriend. Sienna sharply bent her knee and kicked him in the groin, finally stopping the man’s crazed actions.

"Are you insane?"

Adrian chuckled. "Be careful. If you broke it, your sexual pleasure for the rest of your life would be gone."

"Get lost!"

Barefoot, he limped forward and said to Noah, "Get out of here right now! Remember my words—she is Adrian Desmond’s woman! Get rid of your delusional fantasies! Or else, I’ll make you pay!"

As he spoke, blood started to seep from his freshly bandaged leg again.

Noah looked at the crude, overbearing man before him, his brow deeply furrowed. This man was even more of a bastard than Kenneth Brown. How could his baby be with someone like this?

"Your wound is bleeding again! Get back to bed, quickly," Sienna urged, her eyes darting to his injured leg.

Adrian, however, looked utterly unconcerned. He glared at his rival with hostility and, seeing him still standing there, snapped, "You, get lost!"

"A fair lady is a gentleman’s worthy pursuit! I love Baby, and I want to marry her. I’ve liked her since we were very young, and I believe she likes me too.

It’s just that many external factors have made her hesitant.

I also thought that as long as she was happy, I would be willing to let her find happiness, even with someone else.

But I’ve realized that it’s more practical for me to give her happiness than to let another man do it.

I don’t want her to meet another Kenneth Brown!"

"Don’t you dare compare me to that scumbag! You think you can make her happy? Who the hell do you think you are to say that?"

"You’re worse than Kenneth Brown! At least he wouldn’t force her. When you kissed her, did you even ask if she was willing? How are you any different from a thug with behavior like that?"

"She’s my wife! Do I need to ask my own wife for permission to kiss her?"

Adrian hated it when people told him what to do. Noah was seriously irking him, and Adrian was the type to resort to his fists when annoyed.

"Are you leaving or not?"
