Chapter 298: Chapter 299: You Love Me in Your Heart Too

Sienna, who had recovered her memory, knew Adrian’s temperament well. If Noah didn’t leave, Adrian would lose his patience and resort to violence; he had no patience for wasting time on idle talk.

Although Adrian was currently injured, the refined and elegant Noah was no match for the fierce and ferocious man before him.

"Brother, you should leave first. I’ll call you later."

Noah didn’t move; he just stared at Adrian. If Sienna hadn’t known that they were rivals in love, she would have thought sparks were flying between them.

This was a struggle between two males for a female. To win the female, the wolf-like Adrian would show no mercy. Even injured, this man’s lethality should not be underestimated.

Adrian had killed people before!

"Brother, I beg you, please leave." Adrian wouldn’t listen to her, so Sienna could only try to persuade Noah.

"But he..."

"He won’t hurt me."

Adrian, not bothering to look at the annoying man any longer, glared at Noah one last time before forcibly pulling Sienna into the hospital room.

The door to the room closed, and Adrian’s face darkened as he stared at Sienna, as if she had murdered his whole family.

"You don’t have to act that way towards Noah. It’s impossible between us." Sienna made her stance clear to Adrian.

Hearing Sienna’s assurance, Adrian’s expression finally returned to normal. He warned her, "Remember whose woman you are! Don’t go around hitting on men and flirting everywhere."

Sienna’s chest heaved with anger as she couldn’t help but retort, "Adrian, can you stop being so disgusting? When have I ever gone around hitting on men?"

"Not yet?! What about Xavier Young when you were with me? You two were kissing, and I caught you in the act. You still want to deny it? After coming here, you were already discussing marriage with Kenneth Brown, and then there’s Arnold Cooper, Noah Phillips... Sienna, you’re really something."

Accusing her baselessly, Sienna’s head throbbed. Talking to this man is a complete waste of breath, she thought.

"Fine, I was hitting on men, so what?" she challenged him.

"Sienna, you’re asking for death!"

"We may have been together for a while, but we never married. I’m still single. Who I want to be with is none of your business! I haven’t hit on any married men or destroyed any families, so even the law can’t touch me!"

"..."

"And you, Sixth Master? Shouldn’t you be in Abyanabad with Melanie Carpenter? What are you doing here?"

"You really remember everything now?" He thought he was dreaming that she remembered him. But it wasn’t a dream. This woman truly remembered.

"Yes! I remember everything!" Sienna gazed at Adrian, her eyes filled with intense hatred. "I remember how the Sixth Master ruthlessly treated me, how I bitterly begged you not to marry Melanie, yet you still married her."

"..."

"Sixth Master, since you’re so reluctant to leave Melanie Carpenter, why did you come looking for me? Aren’t you afraid of breaking your beloved’s heart?"

"You are my beloved!"

Sienna sneered. "Sixth Master, you must be joking. I can’t bear the title of your beloved. You shouldn’t say such things around others either, or they might misunderstand. Especially Mrs. Desmond. If she starts with her crying, scene-making, and suicide attempts again, you’d be heartbroken, Sixth Master."

Sienna was referencing Melanie’s previous suicide attempt. It was because of that incident Adrian had been forced to marry Melanie.

Adrian felt like his lungs would explode. He had eagerly awaited Sienna’s recovery of her memories. Yet, now that she had, she was even colder towards him, her words like thorns, piercing him all over.

He slowly moved back to the hospital bed and sat down. Waving Sienna over, he said when she didn’t move, "Melanie and I are already divorced. I promise you, I’ll only marry you. Since you remember everything, come back to Abyanabad with me in a few days."

"..."

"There’s nothing good here: the air is bad, the environment is poor, traffic is congested, and the food isn’t safe... Abyanabad is better."

Although Adrian was of Chinese descent, he had been born and raised in Abyanabad. He deeply considered it his hometown and embodied the local character. Therefore, he saw nothing wrong with polygamy. His compromise to have only one wife was simply because Sienna had protested so vehemently.

"Since you find Sileria City so terrible, Sixth Master, you should head back soon."

"What about you?"

"Of course, I’m staying in Sileria City! No matter how bad Sileria City is, it’s my home. There’s a saying here: ’A golden nest or a silver nest isn’t as good as your own doghouse.’ Sixth Master, when you decide to leave, I’ll bring Curly to see you off."

Adrian ground his teeth, the sound grating. He desperately wanted to bite the woman before him. He narrowed his eyes at the infuriating woman. "I already said I’ll only marry you. What are you still fussing about?"

Sienna rubbed her temples. "Adrian, haven’t you caused enough trouble for one night? Getting so drunk you nearly caused a death. Do you really think you’re acting like a mature, stable adult?"

Seeing she wouldn’t come closer, Adrian stood up again and limped over to her. "What? You think I’m immature? Why don’t you say something about that Noah Phillips, then? He confessed to you knowing you’re my wife! Damn it, are you all treating me like I’m dead?"

"..."

"I know you still care about me. If you really hated me, you would’ve just left me in that alley to bleed out and die. But look, you couldn’t bear to let me die."

"Adrian, even if it were a stranger, I would have saved them."

Adrian’s mood darkened instantly. He clenched his jaw. "It’s been a long time since I’ve fought, and I was drunk. I carelessly let those bastards get the upper hand... Are you okay? Were you scared?"

He then pulled her over to inspect her. Relieved to find the blood on her wasn’t her own, and seeing no other injuries besides the bruise on her wrist—her skin smooth, delicate, and fair—he finally relaxed.

Sienna knew Adrian’s brutality all too well. Back in Abyanabad, he would often return home injured. Even if she were sound asleep, and even after he had cleaned himself up, the lingering scent of blood would jolt her awake in panic.

Actually, I’ve had many opportunities to kill this man, Sienna mused. In the Himakati jungle, for instance, or just last night... If only I could have been ruthless enough to let him bleed to death...

Adrian saw a flicker of ruthlessness cross Sienna’s face, and a chill went down his spine. What is she thinking? Is she really considering letting me bleed to death?
