Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 792 The First One

Chapter 792 The First One

The more Xu Ke behaved like this, the more the man became frightened, "I can give you any amount of money you want. Please let me go, don’t kill me."

It must be said that sometimes a person’s ability to sense danger is quite strong, it’s just that the man realized it a bit too late.

"I don’t want money; I just want your life." Xu Ke approached the man with a smile.

"Don’t come any closer. If you come any closer, I’ll call for help," the man said, retreating and watching Xu Ke warily.

"Go ahead, shout. There’s no one around here, and even if there were, I could guarantee to kill you and get away before they arrive. If you don’t believe me, you can try." Xu Ke said, smiling.

Xu Ke’s smile was like a gentle breeze, like the bright moon, but in the man’s eyes, Xu Ke was like a demon crawling out of Hell, making people tremble with fear.

"Why are you against me? I don’t remember offending you. Can’t you just let me go? My father is Bart, the Bart of the Calvin Family. I am his son. If you kill me, you’ll have trouble too." The man started to threaten Xu Ke, hoping to provoke leniency with such a tactic.

"I know who you are. I know you’re Bart’s son; I also know you’re Bart’s first son. Moreover, I know your mother once carried you into the doors of the Calvin Family." Xu Ke’s expression remained unchanged despite the man’s words.

"So who sent you? Yes, I am his first son, but he doesn’t like me at all. I am absolutely no competition to you now. Why can’t you let me be a playboy? My mother and I have already hidden here. Why can’t you leave us alone?" The man’s voice quivered as he asked.

He had nowhere left to retreat. Xu Ke had forced him into a corner, and behind him was the cold wall.

"I know you have no competitiveness left, and I know you’ve been banished by Bart. But, I am not here today because of that. I am here because the debt you owe has to be repaid. This debt has let you live in freedom for twenty years, long enough." Xu Ke tilted his head and said, looking at the man.

"What debt? What twenty years? If this debt really is that old, it’s not mine. I’m only twenty years old this year; years ago, I was probably still an embryo. What could I have possibly done?" The man tried his best to explain.

"The debt from twenty years ago was owed by your mother, but you share the blame for it. If it weren’t for your presence, she wouldn’t have died so early. If she hadn’t died early, none of today would have happened. As we Chinese say, this is called karma; the seeds you sowed then have now borne fruit."

Xu Ke’s slender fingers rested on the man’s neck, and as the man trembled, he suddenly tightened his grip.

Suddenly deprived of air, the man instinctively struggled, his eye sockets reopening wounds from his violent actions, causing fresh blood to flow from his eyes to his chin, finally dripping onto Xu Ke’s hand and splashing into tiny blood flowers.

Due to the lack of air, the man’s face turned flushed, and his lips even turned purple. He kept rolling his eyes. Just when he was about to perish, Xu Ke released his grip.

The man collapsed to the ground, clutching his neck, air once again flowing into his lungs, causing him to cough ceaselessly, his eyes welling up with tears, and his mouth tasting of iron.

The man had barely caught his breath when Xu Ke once again lifted him by his collar.

"How does it feel to suffocate? Fun? Should we try it again?" Xu Ke gently asked.

The man, hearing Xu Ke’s question, shook his head frantically.

"No, let me go. I don’t want to die; I’m still young. Please, let me go," the man hoarsely pleaded, placing his hands in front of his chest in a prayer gesture, hoping to get help from God to make the demon before him spare him and stay away for good.

"You’re so excited; it seems you really like this game. Although I’m not particularly interested, since you like it so much, I’ll play with you once more." Xu Ke’s face showed slight annoyance and indulgence as he firmly placed his hand back on the man’s neck, slowly tightening.

The feeling of suffocation returned once more. This time, Xu Ke didn’t exert much effort, and the man began rolling his eyes, white foam forming at the corners of his mouth, looking as if he was truly beyond saving. Yet Xu Ke showed no sign of loosening his grip.

Soon the man’s struggle ceased, his limbs hung limply, but still, Xu Ke did not release his hold. He silently counted to ten in his heart before letting go of the man’s neck.

The man slid to the ground along the wall, his eyes shut tight, his chest no longer rising and falling, appearing lifeless.

"Stop pretending. I’ve seen plenty of corpses. Your pretending-to-be-dead act is too low-level, the lowest among everyone I’ve met. Get up, or don’t blame me for cutting off one of your fingers."

Lying on the ground, the man’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, but soon he regained his calm, as if truly dead.

"You don’t think I’m joking, do you? Seeing is believing."

Xu Ke’s light laughter echoed clearly in the empty alley.

Without giving the man on the ground any time to react, a finger was separated from his hand, blood gushing from the wound.

The man on the ground wailed, instinctively struggling up from the ground, clutching his hand where a finger had been severed.

"Why stop pretending? Wouldn’t it have been fine if you got up earlier? Why lie there pretending to be dead? Losing a finger finally made you behave; was it necessary?" Xu Ke asked, smiling without humor, looking at the man.

"Are you saying you’re not planning on sparing me no matter what?" The man clutched his hand, sweating and blood on his face, looking like a demon crawling out of Hell.

"That’s right. I never planned on sparing you from the start. Are you only realizing that now?" Xu Ke asked in confusion.

"You’re ruthless. Since that’s the case, don’t blame me for fighting you." The man staggered up from the ground, launching himself like a cannonball at Xu Ke.

Xu Ke shifted slightly, causing the man to miss and lose his footing, crashing back to the ground.

Just because a person has the courage to stand up once doesn’t mean they have the courage to do so again.

The man lay on the ground, gasping like an old bull on the brink of death.

"Get up and continue, is this all you’ve got?" Xu Ke walked to the man’s side, nudging him with his foot in the waist, his voice slightly cold.
