Chapter 793 Express Delivery
Chapter 793 Express Delivery
"What kind of deep hatred is there between us that makes you have to kill me? What does something from twenty years ago have to do with me? If you want revenge, you should go after my mom, after my dad. Why are you coming after me? You’re just bullying the weak and fearing the strong," the man said in despair.
"Don’t worry, you won’t be lonely down there. I’ll find everyone you just mentioned. You just have the bad luck of being the first one I found," Xu Ke said with a slight smile, no longer torturing the man but delivering a fatal blow.
Actually, according to Claude’s plan, he should torture him more, but although this alley was secluded, it wasn’t ultimately a safe place. The man’s screams, if too loud, could bring trouble, so Xu Ke chose to let him go.
Yesterday’s spending made Hannah feel quite elated, putting her in a good mood to make breakfast early in the morning. "Son, wake up and eat, I’ve made your favorite bacon today," Hannah said, knocking on her son’s door.
After a while, there was no response from the room. Hannah sighed and shrugged. "That stinky kid, he must have gone out partying again yesterday and hasn’t come back yet."
Because her son often did this, Hannah wasn’t really surprised. She just thought the breakfast she prepared for him might have to wait until noon.
Just as Hannah sat down at the table to eat, the doorbell rang.
"Son, is that you? How come you’re back so early," Hannah said as she walked to the door, but when she opened it, she saw it wasn’t her son, but a stranger, a delivery man.
"Here’s your parcel, please sign for it," Xu Ke said, pulling down his hat and lowering his voice.
"Why’s the delivery so early today? I remember it used to be at ten o’clock," Hannah said, a bit puzzled, as she signed her name on the delivery slip.
"I’m new here and not very familiar with the area, so I came a bit early. Once I get accustomed to the surroundings, deliveries will resume as normal. Sorry for the inconvenience, ma’am," Xu Ke said politely.
Hearing Xu Ke’s reason for being early, a smile appeared on Hannah’s face. She looked at Xu Ke appreciatively. "You’re really a responsible employee." Hannah was curious about Xu Ke’s appearance but could only see his thin chin.
"Thank you for your compliment."
Hannah’s delivery consisted of two huge cardboard boxes, so heavy she couldn’t lift them. She called out to Xu Ke, who was about to leave.
"Maybe you could do me a favor and help me move them inside my house. I don’t even know what my son ordered to deserve two boxes this big."
Hannah held her forehead, looking a bit overwhelmed.
"He probably spent money recklessly again." As Hannah said this, she completely forgot about her own shopping spree at the mall yesterday.
Xu Ke smiled silently, moving the two boxes inside her house, then left.
Hannah had a curious nature. The two gigantic boxes placed in the center of her house kept her from focusing on her meal. She only had one thought: to open them and see what was inside.
Her mind was thinking, but her body acted faster. She quickly slit open one of the boxes.
Foam and ice cubes came into view.
"Could it be seafood?" Hannah thought, furrowing her brow in confusion.
As she pushed aside the foam and ice, in her view appeared a hairy, muscular leg with a familiar scar that Hannah knew well.
At that moment, Hannah felt as if something had struck her head. Her vision turned dark, and her mind buzzed.
She trembled as she picked up the two legs from the box, her face unknowingly soaked with tears.
Underneath the legs were two arms, one missing a finger.
"Son..." Hannah called softly, her voice trembling.
"My son." Hannah slowly touched the icy torso with her icy, trembling hands.
The room fell silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop, but the next moment, Hannah crawled up from the floor. In a frenzy, she quickly opened the other box, with a faint hope in her heart. But a hope was just hope, never to be reality.
The frozen, blue-tinted upper half of the man suddenly appeared before Hannah. His torso was incomplete, divided into four parts except for the head. His organs had been removed and placed to the side.
The man’s body looked like a dish, not yet cooked, but freshly cleaned, ready to be prepared.
Hannah felt the scene before her twist and sway. She couldn’t stand steadily. She reached out to hold onto something for support but caught only air, falling to the ground, her mind blank and her vision turning black. The intense shock caused her to faint.
A few minutes after she fainted, her door opened again, and Xu Ke, dressed in a delivery uniform, walked in.
He glanced at the breakfast on the table before turning his attention to Hannah.
"She fainted too quickly," Xu Ke said, looking at the boxes containing his handiwork, nodding satisfactorily. Then he packed Hannah into the box that once contained the man, packaging her like a delivery, sending her to Claude’s estate.
"Young Master, you have a parcel," the butler said respectfully to Claude.
"My parcel?"
"Yes."
"What kind of parcel is it?"
"It’s a large cardboard box," the butler answered respectfully.
"It must be related to Xu Ke. Take the box to my next room; I’ll check it out soon," Claude said, looking up.
The butler followed Claude’s instructions, moving the box to the room next to the study.
But Claude didn’t immediately return to work. The documents on his desk suddenly lost all appeal to him. Knowing the box had been moved next door, he eagerly stood up from his seat and went next door.
He had a daring hypothesis driving him, compelling him to verify it, eager to know if his guess was correct.
For safety reasons, the butler opened the box for Claude, and upon seeing the woman inside, the butler’s expression turned puzzled.
The butler never expected that the box would contain a person.
"What is it?" Claude, seeing the butler hesitate without a word or action, grew more curious about the box’s contents.
"It’s a person," the butler said honestly, stepping aside so Claude could clearly see what was within the box.
