Chapter 791: The Sweeper
Chapter 791: The Sweeper
Xu Ke backed out of the restaurant and bumped right into the Shadow Man.
"This item is something the young master instructed me to give to you." The Shadow Man handed the leather pouch to Xu Ke.
"Thank you." Xu Ke said as he took the leather pouch.
"No need to be so polite; we’re all working for the young master. It’s just a small thing to deliver something, no need for this. If you can’t handle it, you can ask me for help, but I hope you don’t disappoint the young master. Anyone who disappoints the young master won’t be let off by me." The Shadow Man warned Xu Ke.
"Heh, I think you better mind your own business, I don’t need you to handle my affairs. Just take care of yourself." Xu Ke said as he passed by the Shadow Man, patting him on the shoulder.
Claude’s list for Xu Ke only had three names, from three different women, but they all had one thing in common: they had been with Bart for a long time, long enough that Claude’s mother had not passed away at that time.
Looking at these three names and thinking about what Claude had said, it wasn’t hard to see why Claude had instructed that these people be made to suffer.
Xu Ke visited according to the names on Claude’s list, and the first one he visited was a man, half a year older than Claude, but Claude already had his own business, while this man hadn’t even completed his studies, judging by his grades, barring any surprises, he’ll continue to repeat another year unless he drops out.
But the man himself had no intention of dropping out. He drove a sports car, drank alcohol, with money in hand and a girl on his lap, enjoying his carefree life in the nightclub.
Meanwhile, his mother, an aging old woman, was wildly shopping for anything that could make her beautiful with the card Bart gave her at the mall.
"Who are you? Did any of you invite him?" the man asked impatiently, with his hand still on the woman’s voluptuous body, looking at the suddenly unfamiliar face.
"No idea, I don’t know him."
Under the dim lights of the nightclub, several people hanging out with the man shook their heads, indicating they didn’t recognize Xu Ke.
"Didn’t you hear? No one knows you, get lost. If you want to freeload at the bar, you’ve come to the wrong place." The man waved Xu Ke away impatiently, eyeing Xu Ke as if he were a beggar.
"I’m not here to freeload at the bar, I’m here to find you." Xu Ke said, fanning away the smoke that drifted before him.
"Find me? I don’t know you, get lost, don’t disturb my fun." The man licked his lip ring, eyeing Xu Ke with increasing malice, especially given that Xu Ke didn’t seem to intend to leave after hearing him out.
"Can’t understand human language, can you? I told you I don’t know you, get lost, don’t force me to hit you." The man pushed away the girl from his arms and stood up from his seat, looking down at Xu Ke.
"You little runt, don’t just look for a beating. See my fist? If you push me, I’ll land you one, and you’ll be done for." The man showed his fist, as big as a cooking pot, in front of Xu Ke.
"Oh really? I’d love to see what being punched to death feels like." Xu Ke grinned with a contemptuous smile, dazzling and flashy under the dim lights.
"Hey, buddy, what are you waiting for? Hit him, teach him a lesson, let him know who to mess with and who not to."
"Exactly, if he loses, make him crawl out like a dog, best if he barks a few times, hahaha."
Perhaps due to snorting powder, these people were exceptionally animated, their screams and heckling even drowned out the club’s speakers at times.
The man was already someone who feared nothing and now, egged on by his friends, felt even bolder. "Since you won’t leave, don’t blame me for being rude."
With that, the man swung his fist toward Xu Ke’s face.
Xu Ke stood his ground, and just as the fist was about to land, a hand flashed out like lightning, blocking it.
With a loud thud, the man’s fist didn’t land on Xu Ke but smashed into the coffee table holding the beer.
Glass shattered everywhere, cutting the man’s hand and causing blood to drip onto the floor.
"Want to try again?" Xu Ke smirked slightly as he spoke.
The pain from his hand finally registered in the man’s mind. If not for his friends around him, the man would have screamed out, regardless of his image.
"You dare hit him? Do you know who he is? If you don’t apologize now, his father won’t let you off, and you’ll be dead." A friend who had been enjoying himself with the man said angrily upon seeing the man’s injured hand.
"I’m quite aware of who he is, I came here specifically to find him." Xu Ke smiled at the speaker.
"What are you standing around for, he hit me, didn’t you see? Why are you still standing still, go hit him, I’ll take responsibility for whatever happens." The man said arrogantly.
But just as he finished speaking, immense pain swept over him again, and his cries were all the more jarring and pitiful in the nightclub.
The group who had initially intended to move paused in place, their eyes now filled with fear.
It turned out Xu Ke had somehow concealed a shard of glass in his hand, and upon hearing the man’s cries, he drove it into the man’s eyeball.
Blood flowed from the injured eye, like a tear of blood, and the man fainted from the pain, only to be revived by Xu Ke dumping ice over him.
"What do you want? Do you want money? I’ll give you however much you want, just don’t hurt me anymore."
The companions who had been having fun with the man were long gone, leaving only Xu Ke and the man in the place.
To the man, who had previously seemed feeble, Xu Ke now looked like a demon.
He knelt on the ground, ignoring the pain in his eye, repeatedly pleading with Xu Ke.
"This isn’t a good place to talk, let’s go outside and talk." Xu Ke smiled kindly at the man, effectively lowering his guard, and the man, like a tamed animal, dutifully followed Xu Ke to an alleyway.
"Where is this? Why did you bring me here?" With the surrounding growing quieter, panic began to rise in the man’s heart.
"I brought you here for a reason." Xu Ke said in a calm tone.
