Chapter 1466: He’s Going to Be a Dad

Chapter 1466: He’s Going to Be a Dad

Morgan Ashworth looked at the hospital entrance before him and immediately furrowed his brows. "Are you sure Mrs. Crawford is in the hospital?"

"Yes, Young Master, I’m sure. Mrs. Crawford came to the hospital early this morning," Eleven replied.

"Alright, let’s go in."

Morgan led a large group of people inside to find Willow Crawford. It was Willow’s second time coming to the hospital alone. He asked her to wait and go together, but she came on her own.

Could it be that she was having some health issues?

Morgan couldn’t help but let his imagination run wild; he was very worried about Willow’s health.

In the corridor, Morgan spotted Willow at a glance. She was sitting on a bench in the corridor, her face pale, her head bowed, lost in thought.

Morgan walked over, yet she didn’t even notice him.

"Willow," Morgan called out.

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Willow looked up, momentarily stunned. "Honey, why are you here?"

Morgan knelt on one knee before her, holding her small hand, which was icy cold. "Willow, why did you come to the hospital alone again? Didn’t we agree to come together?"

Willow hadn’t expected him to come looking for her, and she forced a smile. "I was afraid you were busy. It’s fine, I can manage on my own."

"So, what kind of check-up did you come for?" Morgan glanced around, noticing the operating room ahead, and couldn’t help frowning.

Afraid he would find out something, Willow quickly replied, "I just had a minor check-up. The doctor said I’ve been anemic lately and advised me to eat more iron-rich foods."

"Is that so?" Morgan wasn’t convinced.

"Of course it’s true. Let’s go home. I have something to tell you when we get back."

"What is it? Good news or bad news?"

"Of course, it’s good news."

Morgan took her small hand. "Alright, then let’s go home."

"Mm." Willow let out a silent sigh of relief.

Just then, a doctor suddenly rushed out of the office. "Willow Crawford, wait a minute!"

An uneasy feeling took hold of Willow—had the doctor actually appeared?

The doctor handed over a note. "Willow, your body is very weak right now. Be sure to take care of the pregnancy when you get home."

Pregnancy?

The word stuck with Morgan. He froze. "Pregnancy? What pregnancy?"

The doctor gave Morgan a once-over. "Are you Willow Crawford’s husband? Oh, young man, if your wife is pregnant, why wouldn’t you accompany her to the hospital?"

What?

Morgan’s gaze landed on Willow’s face, then slowly shifted downward to her flat belly. He was shocked, unable to believe it. "Doctor, are you saying my wife is pregnant?"

"Yes, your wife is pregnant. You’re going to be a father."

Oh my god.

Morgan had always wanted a child, and now, with the sudden news, he was officially declared a father. The overwhelming joy filled his chest, leaving him almost incapable of reacting.

He reached out, his long fingers edging toward Willow’s small belly. Just yesterday, he’d rested his hand there, but he hadn’t known that inside was already his and her child.

Morgan gently rested his hand on her belly. "Willow, are you really... pregnant? Is there really my child in there? Am I really becoming a father?"

Willow had decided to keep the child.

Moments ago, she lay on the cold operating table as the anesthetic was about to enter her body and the child was to be taken away. Suddenly, she sat up and fled the suffocating operating room.

She simply couldn’t give up her child.

This was her child.

This was an innocent little life.

Seeing the sparkling light in Morgan’s eyes, Willow curved her lips into a smile and softly said, "Mm, darling, I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a dad!"

She had already made up her mind to keep the child.

But she also had to save Morgan.

She couldn’t abandon Morgan or the child, so she decided to keep the baby with her and accompany him through his final journey.

"That’s wonderful! Truly wonderful!" Morgan exclaimed, lifting Willow into his arms and spinning her around in joy. "Honey, you’re amazing! How did you become pregnant? How are you so incredible!"

At that moment, Morgan was as joyful and carefree as a child.

Willow’s spirits lifted as well. She quickly added, "Darling, put me down quickly~"

"Yes, yes, you’re pregnant now. I mustn’t press on your belly." Morgan immediately set Willow down and awkwardly touched her belly.

The doctor noted, "Don’t get too excited too soon. Your wife’s body is very weak, and her pregnancy reactions are severe. Now that you’ve decided to keep this child, you have to take good care of him moving forward."

Immersed in the joy of becoming a father, Morgan didn’t pay attention to the doctor’s comment about "keeping the child." He nodded vigorously. "I know, don’t worry, I’ll do my best."

"Then that’s good." The doctor left.

Morgan still felt as if he were dreaming. He placed Willow’s small hand on his handsome face. "Willow, slap me. I want to see if I’m dreaming."

Willow was amused. She couldn’t bring herself to slap his face—who would want to damage such a handsome face?

Instead, Willow tugged hard at his ear. "Honey, does it hurt?"

Ouch.

"Honey, it hurts~"

"So, do you think you’re dreaming?"

"No, it’s real!" Morgan wrapped Willow once more in his arms, this time with great restraint and caution, as if afraid of touching her belly. "Willow, thank you. I never had a family before. After meeting you, you gave me a home."

Willow’s fair eyes immediately reddened. She didn’t know what would become of him after she and the baby were gone.

They say the one who leaves first is the lucky one, because all the pain is left to the one who stays behind.

Not only would she be leaving, but she would also be taking the baby with her, which was so cruel for him.

He had just found a family, and now that family was about to fall apart.

Willow buried her face in his warm chest. "Silly, the baby and I will always be with you, always~"

"Mm, honey, please don’t leave me. You and the baby are my life. Without you both, I wouldn’t survive..."

Willow quickly covered his mouth with her small hand to stop him from speaking. "Honey, don’t say that. Even if the baby and I leave someday, you must live well anyway. Besides, the baby and I won’t leave because with such a handsome and wonderful husband, if I go, many other women would fight over you, and I don’t want to share my husband with anyone else."

Her half-joking, playful tone made Morgan’s eyes soften with tenderness. He wrapped Willow’s small hand with his own, their fingers interlocking.

He softly said, "Honey, there will never be anyone else, never."
