Chapter 1467: Hoping for a Son
Chapter 1467: Hoping for a Son
He said there would be no one else, ever.
Willow Crawford felt selfish; she hoped Morgan Ashworth would always belong only to her, both now and in the future.
If she were to die in the future, she wanted him to forever remember her.
But he was so lonely, so isolated, if there was a girl better than her to love him, she supposed she would feel content.
Thus, Willow was so conflicted.
She let him hold her, nodding lightly, "Mm."
...
Morgan Ashworth took Willow Crawford back home, because Willow was now pregnant, Morgan was very nervous.
"Honey, none of your clothes fit anymore. I’ve had the maid replace your entire wardrobe; from now on you’ll wear maternity clothes."
"Honey, I’ve had the maid fix the house to prevent any bumps and falls, but you need to be careful and make sure you don’t get hurt."
"The doctor said you need to take care of your health. You’re very weak, so I’ve hired a professional nutritionist to look after your meals. I’ll personally supervise your eating every day."
As he spoke, Morgan looked at her tenderly, "Honey, actually, what I’m most afraid of is your health..."
"My health? What’s wrong with me? I’m fine." Willow replied.
Morgan looked at Willow’s pale little face; she had lost weight recently, and though doctors couldn’t pinpoint it, she didn’t seem completely well.
He was very worried; the baby had come too soon, her body wasn’t ready, and it caught them off guard.
He feared the baby would drain her, and he feared any accident might occur; he couldn’t bear even a hint of danger now.
Morgan touched her small hand; it remained cold, without warmth, and despite his attempts to warm her, it wasn’t working.
"Honey, I think your health isn’t good. You haven’t told your parents about the pregnancy yet, right? I’d like to visit them and openly disclose our marriage and the pregnancy, then your mother can personally take care of you, only if it’s her, I can be at ease." Morgan thought it over and shared his plan.
Willow’s heart sank; he had wanted to visit her parents countless times, but she always found reasons to stop him. She couldn’t let him go, or the matter of taking heart’s blood would be exposed.
"Honey, I’ve already said we should keep the marriage and pregnancy a secret for now; I fear my parents would worry about me too. Right now, I just want to rest and carry the baby peacefully. So, let’s wait until I reach three months, then we’ll visit my parents together." Willow continued to delay.
Morgan didn’t overthink it; he had whisked away someone’s precious gem, acted first, reported later, and now she was pregnant which frightened him.
"Alright, we’ll rest and nurture the baby, and after three months, I’ll go home with you." Morgan agreed.
Willow felt slightly relieved.
"Honey, I want to sleep for a while."
"Eat something first."
"I don’t want to eat, I’m not hungry at all, I’ll eat when I wake up." Willow said softly.
Morgan noticed her tired appearance and agreed, "Alright, sleep; I’ll stay here with you."
"Mm."
Morgan gathered all the documents and began working on the bed as Willow closed her eyes against his abdomen in a comfortable position.
The sound of paper rustling in her ear was him flipping through documents, the sound of him signing his name with the pen, and as she drifted into unconsciousness, the rustling masked their happy moments; she didn’t know how long she’d be beside him.
Right now, it felt so blissful, as if she had fallen in love with this world.
"Honey, what should we name the baby?" Morgan asked tenderly.
Willow, drowsy, smiled with closed eyes, "I’m just pregnant; the baby is still a sprout, isn’t it too early to name them?"
"It’s not too early at all. I’ve chosen a few characters, see if you like them?"
"What characters?"
"De, meaning the child will be upright and noble in character; Jie, meaning talented and exceptionally intelligent; Chen, meaning distinguished and renowned; Ye, meaning bright and promising future..."
Parental love runs deep, and choosing a name had stumped Morgan.
He thought this name was good, that name was also good, and wished he could give the child a hundred names.
But Willow noticed something was amiss; she pouted, "Honey, why are all the names you chose for a boy?"
With that, Willow snorted, "I remember asking you earlier if you wanted a boy or a girl, and your answer was diplomatic, saying you’d love either, as long as I gave birth. Why the sudden change? Are you really favoring boys that much?"
"What if the baby inside me is a girl, will you want to put her back?"
Willow had never thought Morgan biased against girls; he seemed unlikely to be that way.
Morgan quickly raised his hand to swear, "Honey, I swear I truly love both boys and girls, as long as it’s your child. But for this first one, I hope it’s a boy, because if it’s a boy, both the baby and I can protect you."
"Honey, you’re our little princess. This will never change, even as we grow old."
Willow’s heart sweetened instantly, realizing how he felt.
He already cherished her like a little princess, and having a son wouldn’t change that, just add another person to love her.
Thinking like that, Willow felt having a boy inside her was quite good.
Willow seriously thought about the name, then said, "Let’s name him Joy."
"Hmm?"
"Joy, like sunlight, I wish our son can forever embrace the sunlight."
Morgan smiled, "Alright, then it’ll be Joy."
With that, Morgan placed his big hand on Willow’s flat little abdomen, lowering his voice to whisper to their son, "Son, Dad and Mom have named you; from now on, you’ll be Little Joy, do you like this name?"
The baby inside had yet to respond.
Morgan kissed Willow’s little belly, "Alright son, Dad already heard it; you said Little Joy is a perfect name, you really like it, right?"
Yet-to-be-born Little Joy, "..."
