Chapter 312: The Zombie King (1) Advertisement
Wei Jun was having a field day. He was happy, although a little annoyed because of the number of the zombies, but happy nonetheless.
He was annoyed because, in the entire dungeon, there were a total of fifteen zombies which meant his Death Qi only increased by 150.
Still, he wasn't that much disappointed considering he'd have to kill a protagonist and he still wouldn't get that much Death Qi.
But, as someone very wise said, 'All good things must come to an end'. The very same thing happened to Wei Jun. His good day came to an end as well. And it wasn't just a simple end at all.
[Zombie King]
[Tier: S]
[Strength: 400]
[Agility: 400]
[Stamina: Infinite]
[Miasma: 3000]
'What the hell does infinite means?!!!!!!'
Wei Jun yelled but inside his head because he was too busy behind flung across the dungeon. He was thrown so far that he was a little relieved for getting so far away from that monstrosity.
However, that didn't last for long when, just as he got up, the thing was over his head. As he raised his head, the dumb-looking thing was staring at him, with its eyes like they were dead but Wei Jun could still pick up one thing from them…
'That's it?'
Wei Jun cursed and moved away but he hadn't even moved a little away when the thing was behind him once again.
[For an S rank monster, it's quite weak]
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!!!" Wei Jun yelled at the system's comment as the thing he was facing wasn't just anything. Yet, the system was saying it was weak.
[Monsters of that rank have an average of 700 in stat points]
[Almost equivalent to a grandmaster cultivator]
[Look at Morial]
[He has stats averaging 1000]
'Then how the hell did he lose to a grandmaster cultivator?'
Wei Jun argued while he ran away. The zombie was following him but with Death Qi skills activated, his agility was higher than the zombie.
[You can never compare a cultivator and a mana user]
[Especially one that knows how to negate the negative effects of mana on a cultivator]
[Or at least lessen them to an extent]
Wei Jun didn't argue. Grandmaster realm began at 640 in stat points. Since the commander that fought Morial was pretty high ranking, there was a possibility that his stats were also near Morial's.
So going by that logic, it was strange that a monster at the same rank as Morial was so weak. The zombie didn't even have more than half of Morial's stats.
[My guess is it's Miasma]
'Is it high?' Wei Jun asked as he found himself a hiding spot. He now understood the meaning of infinite stamina. He was so out of breath all the time while running yet the zombie didn't show any of such signs. Wei Jun sighed and calmed down his beating heart.
[Ridiculously so]
[It has the Miasma of Mythic rank monsters]
[And even among them, quite high-ranking ones possess this]
[I think it has eaten most of the Zombies here]
[Gaining their Miasma as well]
[But it's a waste]
'Why?' Wei Jun asked.
[Miasma is used for only two things for monsters]
[One is to maintain their existence and the other is to use their skills]
[If a zombie requires 1000 points of Miasma to maintain its existence, it doesn't need more than that]
[Because it has no skills]
[So most often, zombies or undeads]
[The ones who can't use any skills]
[Have a certain point of Miasma]
[Not one point more or less than that]
[But this is an opportunity for you]
'Why?' Wei Jun asked as he ate a stamina pill to calm his beating heart and a healing pill to heal his injuries. While he could have used the dragon's power to heal himself, he wanted to save his Qi for as long as he could because the Qi replenishment pill had a long cooldown time while the healing pill didn't.
[It has more than necessary Miasma]
[Had it had the normal amount of Miasma]
[Death Qi gains would have been normal as well]
[Twenty or thirty at most]
[But now…]
'I can only imagine.' Wei Jun completed the sentence and calmed himself down. He even erased his presence completely. While it wasn't going to help him a lot, it would at least buy him enough time to strategize his next move.
'While I appreciate the general knowledge, anything on defeating it will also tremendously help.' Wei Jun said to the system as he tried to observe his surroundings. The zombie was nowhere in sight which meant it had moved to another area of the dungeon.
[I have already told you the weaknesses of the zombies]
[Other than that, there's nothing]
'There must be something!' Wei Jun desperately said. As he stood, there was a very slim chance of him winning.
'What if I confuse him?' Wei Jun asked hopefully.
[The brain is dead]
[The portion that is alive doesn't really possess any intelligence]
[All it possesses is the instinct to kill]
[This isn't a battle of intellect, host]
[You're fighting a monster who doesn't possess any of it]
'…' Wei Jun remained silent. While the system was correct, there must be something he could do but there was nothing that came to his mind. Wei Jun was never interested in fiction so no matter what kind it was; he had never seen anything like this. Even when he was young, he never watched anything that steered away from reality.
[How's that going for you now?]
Wei Jun ignored the system's remark and focused on the battle once again. What he had and what he didn't. He needed to make use of everything.
The dark sword was still irresponsive. No matter how much he tried to equip it, it just wouldn't do so. He had no choice but to give up on it and look at some other weapons.
Luckily, there was a plethora of weapons in the shop. Not as good as the dark sword though, but enough to get him through.
[Armor of the fallen warrior]
[Tier: B]
[Effect: Defense +1000]
[Not affected by level limit]
[Durability: 100]
[Note:
With each hit, no matter how strong or weak, one point of durability will go down
At 50 durability, each hit would take two points of durability]
[Cost: 1,000,000]
While the price of the armor wasn't much, the function was also time-limited. With the way the effects were mentioned, the armor would be ineffective after 75 hits.
Still, it had the highest defense stat even more than some A tier items so Wei Jun chose it.
[Sword of the Holy Knight]
[Tier: B]
[Effect(s):
Temporarily creates a divine stat
Divine stat +100
Divine stat +500 for those who already have it
Attack power +100% to evil creatures]
[Note: For the user, the effect would be 50% due to the presence of an opposite-natured power]
[Cost: 100,000,000]
The sword Wei Jun bought at the recommendation of the system. While the stat wouldn't be much, according to the system, against the zombie, even that much would be double as effective than a normal hit.
[There is some risk if the divine power were to manifest inside your body]
[But if it remained inside the sword, then it wouldn't be much of a problem]
The price of the sword was something and it also emptied Wei Jun's inventory of any sort of money he had. Still, when he thought of the increment of the Death Qi, he deemed any other loss as unnecessary.
[There's something called the 'Holy Bomb' in the shop]
[Purchase it as well]
[While it wouldn't harm the zombie much]
[It will slow it down]
Wei Jun didn't consider it for long and looked it up. While it wasn't very expensive, the effects were also not that much. Still, Wei Jun bought ten of them because that was all the money he had.
The bombs in total cost him only a million yuan. Once he was ready, he looked around. The zombie king was about seven feet tall so if Wei Jun were to look from a high point, he'd be able to find it easily.
Not to mention it had a horrible stench so locating it would be all the more easier. Still, with how much the area smelled horrible already, Wei Jun wasn't taking any risk.
'I can only imagine why I feel so calm here…'
[This place is Death]
[You are Death]
[Well, a piece of it]
'…' Wei Jun didn't know what that meant but he didn't have the time to ask about it because…
'There it is…' Wei Jun, as expected, was easily able to find it. It was about a couple of miles away. Wei Jun could easily cross that distance but there was no need to. It was as the system said.
The zombie didn't have a brain.
So if it didn't, didn't it also mean it was stupid enough as well? Stupid enough to fall for a trap.
