Chapter 347: Triangle
Chapter 347: Triangle
Amy grabbed Hobb’s arm, first healing the burnt flesh, then healing everything else. The metal components inside of him popped out one by one, as the flesh regrew.
The Life Nova saw that and was surprised. "You can regrow other’s flesh?" he asked, surprised, he had never seen such an amazing healing skill in his life. The only times when he did see healing this good was when a Nova was hurt.
There were quite a few Novas, especially ones with Elemental powers, that could regrow their body using those elements.
Emilia Fireheart could heal through fire, Garren could heal through lightning, and Raven Darkwing could heal through shadow.
But this was the first time when he saw someone with a healing power that healed someone else. He wanted this if he could have it.
Amy all of the free energy inside of her into the hand and it still didn’t heal entirely. She had known this beforehand, so as much as she hated the thought of doing this, she had to do it, one way or another.
She took a deep breath and truly used up all of her energy.
The bright red color in her hair bled away, leaving behind dark lustrous locks that seemed darker than the abyss itself. Her body morphed slightly, becoming slightly younger than in her late 20s she looked.
Now, she looked no older than a 20-year-old. Not just that, her skin also became much fairer, and even seemed to shine a little under the dull light.
Hobb slowly gained their sanity back as his arm healed, but his thoughts were on the person who stood before him. A figure that seemed to come straight out of mythology itself. A Goddess no doubt.
Amy had been the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, but the figure she had now was one that made her the most beautiful woman in all of existence.
Hobb felt his heart beat faster and faster, feeling attracted toward her. But there was no sense of want in that attraction, just a want to do anything she asked for no matter what she asked for.
"What... what are you?" he asked, barely able to move past her appearance, forcing his heart to not move at her sight.
Amy grimaced, but even while grimacing, she was the most beautiful woman in all of existence. "Do you understand what is happening right now?" she asked.
"We’re fighting the Life Nova," the director said, looking at the man in the distance. "And he can heal from taking life from others, huh?"
"His passive ability to heal himself is gone," Amy explained. "So he only has his active abilities now." She looked at the man was seemed infatuated with her face right now, unable to ignore the emotion he was feeling.
"Let’s get this over with then," Hobb said, pointing the gun directly at the Life Nova and shooting him dead in the forehead.
The Life Nova recoiled back, falling to the ground, but he wasn’t dead yet. "Come to me, my servants," he said, and the zombies moved toward him.
"That is not going to work," Hobb said, quickly forming a triangle with his flat palm and thumbs joined at the tips. He looked through the hole, seeing the man on the ground.
How long had it been since he last used his powers? The last time he had used this was when he was sent to kill the Nova of a certain cult, only to find out that the Nova was nothing more than an 11-year-old kid.
He had defeated that Nova easily with his powers, but couldn’t bring himself to kill the child. He didn’t want a child to die for no reason.
A child who did not know any better.
He had thought the child could learn to do better if given proper teaching. And to show that he was not a threat, he had stopped using his power in the child.
That was the day he had lost his arm. However, that was also the day the young Nova learned that there were others who cared about him for more than just his powers.
They didn’t think of him as someone who was almighty, but just a kid who needed someone he could rely upon. And as a reminder for that kid to always remember to be human with others and never go on the path of what all other Novas did, he had refused to get his arm healed for the past 15 years.
’I don’t need to do this anymore,’ he thought. ’That stupid kid has grown enough already.’
Hobb looked through the triangle formed within his palms and saw the Life Nova through it. The last person to look through it 15 years ago had been a Nova.
And the first person to be seen through it was a Nova as well. It was quite ironic.
The zombies rushed toward the Nova, quickly laying next to him for him to grab, but even as he did, he couldn’t feel anything happening to him.
There was no life he could feel draining from others into him. In fact, he was quickly losing his own life.
"No... this can’t..." the Life Nova lost his life so quickly that he couldn’t even get all the words out.
Amy watched the Life Nova die so... easily and wondered why she had to struggle for all that time. She looked toward Hobb. "You should have gotten your arm long ago," she said. "That power of yours to stop someone from using their powers is too strong to have been kept away."
Hobb didn’t look toward her and nodded slowly. "I just needed an idiot to not feel scared around me, I guess. And he needed a reminder too."
Amy sighed and nodded. "At least you got your powers now. It will be helpful. There are people still fighting outside. That guy you call an idiot is struggling to kill someone. You should go help him."
"Oh..." Hobb said, standing up. "Let’s go get this over with then."
