Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 346: Heal

Chapter 346: Heal

Amy kept the director protected while fighting off the mob of zombies and superpowered humans. The battle was a tough one for her because she lacked the energy to do anything and she couldn’t make much use of her physical prowess either.

She wished her brother was here at the moment to fight them, to kill them. She could do all the defending, she just needed someone to pull the trigger.

If not her brother, her dad could come to help too. Alas, she couldn’t communicate with them at the moment. Even if she could, it would take a while for them to appear.

By that, it would all be over.

The main issue here was that she was keeping the Life Nova contained. She didn’t know what his powers were so if he went out, he could create a lot of trouble.

Amy simply flicked away the plasma bullets, not even giving it a second glance. Not a single thing any of them could do there could hurt her.

The Life Nova, who has been staying at the back all this time, began moving. There was a sort of serious look on his face now as if he was in trouble.

’That wave of energy did something to him,’ she thought.

She quickly grabbed one of the zombies and threw it in his way. She did not intend to hurt him, so she could throw the zombie directly in front of the man.

The man stopped, looking over with anger.

"You’re not going anywhere," Amy said, looking directly toward him.

The man grumbled, gritting his teeth as he looked toward her. "I don’t know what it is that you are planning, but it won’t work out. You already saw how I’m unkillable."

"You were unkillable, yes," Amy said. "But I’m not so sure you are anymore."

She had the director shoot him with guns a few times and while it had hit him, he had quickly healed. He had a healing power, which she wondered if he still had.

"Hobb!" she called out. "I need you to shoot him again."

She used part of her remaining power to stir the director awake. He was slowly getting worse and worse, and she did not have enough power to keep him awake all the time.

The pain from his arm would be too much for the awake him to handle, so she had let him fall unconscious. He wouldn’t just die that way.

The director screamed in pain as he came to, feeling the heat from the severed arm burden him.

"Shoot him!" Amy ordered, grabbing two zombies at once and tossing them in the man’s direction.

The Life Nova, for being a Nova, was not physically quick or strong. And because he had the ability to heal, he hadn’t brought a shield with him either.

The director cried out in pain, but he did as told. He took the gun in his hand, ignoring the pain as much as he could, and shot.

Even in his situation, the stationary man was hit by a bullet in the chest.

The man immediately fell back, screaming in pain. He was hurt, but Amy had to wait for the rest. To her surprise, he didn’t heal. Instead, he kept squirming on the ground until one of the still-moving zombies went over to grab him.

Suddenly, the zombie shuddered, quickly turning into a husk before the man got up.

He breathed quickly, fearing the situation even more.

Amy’s eyes narrowed. ’He’s draining life from them to heal himself,’ she thought. ’That is different from the other healing he had before.’

Whatever had happened earlier had done some work.

Amy realized what must be done now. Since the man could be hurt, he could be killed she just needed to keep the zombies away from the man.

Or... the man away from the zombies.

She moved, blindingly fast. The next moment. She was holding the Life Nova in front of the director. "Shoot!"

"No!" the Life Nova only belatedly realized that he had been moved by her. "Let go of me. Let me—"

The director shot a bunch of times, hitting the man. He shook a few times before stopping to move. Then, he stirred awake.

"Oh..." he said with a surprised voice. "Haha! You stupid little girl. I was not aware there was someone with such vital energy in them."

Amy belatedly realized that he was now draining her own powers. ’Shit!’ she thought, quickly moving away.

The man turned around after landing on his feet and turned toward her. "I had given up on wanting you before, but now I really want you."

He moved toward her, unafraid. Amy stepped back, not wanting to get near. Getting near would only help him.

The director shot a few bullets just then, but the zombies quickly came toward the man, helping him heal. They also guarded him now, some moving toward the director.

Amy quickly went to rescue him, but she didn’t know what else she could do now.

"Miss... Amy..." the director’s voice came from behind her. "Heal... me..."

"I can’t," Amy said. "You know I can’t heal just the amputated region. If I heal you, all of it will return."

"Then... let it return," the director said.

Amy turned around in surprise. "You... want your arm back?" she asked.

It had been over 15 years now since the director first lost his arm. Back then, she had tried to ask him to get healed multiple times, but all of the time, he had refused, even going so far as to get angry at her for even asking it.

That had lasted for over 15 years and finally, today, he was asking for his arms back.

Amy sensed her own powers and realized she lacked what she needed to heal him while remaining within this illusion.

’Let it be,’ she thought. ’Let them see me.’

She leaned down and ripped out the director’s metal enhancement made to his amputated arm, and began healing it.
