Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 224: Negatives

Chapter 224: Negatives

The four looked at each other, with Aleone even smiling when she heard those words.

Harvesh turned toward the group and spoke up. "You probably should have figured out that he was keeping us all on a leash by making us this he was a different person for each of us."

"Now that the secret is out, how long do you think it will be before we figure out that we do not need you?" Aleone asked.

"We can just get rid of you as the boss and can go on to become leaders of gangs with no one above our head," the one nicknamed Demonspawn said. "That sounds like an enjoyable time."

The Gunblazer said nothing, but he too seemed to be of the same mind by the way he looked at Nova and the others.

Nova smiled. "You are not wrong," she said. "In fact, I also doubted that this meeting would work with all of you here."

"So, what will you plan to be doing?" Aleone asked.

"What will I be doing?" Nova said. "Nothing."

The four looked at her with a strange look on their face. "Didn’t you become a boss for something? Are you just going to give up like that?"

"Give up?" Nova chuckled a bit. "What would I ever give up? You guys must think I’m afraid of you or something." She shook her head with a sigh.

The Demonspawn looked around with a confused look before turning toward Nova. "Didn’t you just say you will be doing nothing?" he asked.

"I did," Nova said.

"So?" he asked.

"So?" Nova asked back. "Just because I said that I will be doing nothing, doesn’t mean that I haven’t done anything already."

She raised her fist and clenched it.

Suddenly, thin metal wire wrapped around everyone’s waist and chest, strapping them to the chair. They all freaked out immediately and tried to move.

The big man called the Demonspawn started glowing slightly red. His body turned hot with his clothes burning off on the upper half.

Nova looked at him and smiled. "Don’t bother. That thing has a melting point of 6700 degrees. Your body will never reach that point," she said.

Aleone moved, muttering something to herself before touching the wire at her waist. Suddenly, the wire at the waist grew by dozens of times the size, becoming large enough that she could more out of it if she wanted to.

She then muttered something to touch the wire at the chest as well. If she could get rid of it, she could probably pull the guns as well.

However, before she could do anything, the large metal wires landed back on her body, constricting her once more. Only this time, they were dozens of times the weight as well and were super heavy.

She struggled to even breathe for a few seconds before Nova gave her some freedom.

Nova turned to look at the Gunblazer, who sat there doing nothing. "Is it because you do not have any powers that you don’t do anything?" she asked.

The man looked at her and sighed. He nodded. "If I can’t use my guns, I’m useless," he said.

"Well, that’s honesty is something really," she said and finally turned toward Harvest. He hadn’t moved at all, despite being quite vocal about disobeying her.

"I thought you would be the first to try and attack," she said, looking at him. "What happened?"

Harvest grimaced at the question and couldn’t help but give an annoyed smile. "I thought of using my powers, but..." he turned toward Stanely. "I had a gut feeling that I would be killed by this young man before I could even use them."

Stanley stared at the man with a weird look on his face. ’Can he see the future?’ he thought. They hadn’t talked about anyone’s power here, so he wasn’t aware.

"John here is my new best friend," Nova said, putting her arm around him. "Don’t try to fight him you guys, he will kill you all before you can even do anything. He’s that powerful."

Stanley looked at her weirdly. Why would she say that?

"Anyway, back on topic," Nova said. "Now, I assume it is obvious that I will remain the boss of the four of you, isn’t it?"

The four looked at each other and nodded. "You are the boss for now," Harvesh said.

"Good," she said and got more comfortable. She loosened the grip of her metal wires around each one and looked toward Aleone. "Would you mind reducing those back to how they were?"

"I can’t," Aleone said. "I don’t have that capability."

"How long will it take to revert back then?" Nova asked.

"About 2 days maybe," she said. "Nothing has lasted in a large state more than 3 days."

"Oh?" Nova said. "I guess I’ll have to haul it around for a few days then. "John, can you get that for me?"

Stanley nodded and walked up to Aleone. The woman leaned back looking at Stanley with a curious expression as to what he was going to do with the wire.

When he simply grabbed it and picked it up as if it was nothing, she was more than surprised. She couldn’t believe just how strong he was.

The others looked at him with a bit of shock as well, seeing someone so lean carry something so large, which was obviously metal.

Nova didn’t look at Stanley at all and looked at the other four. "So, to start off the meeting, let me give you all good news that I’m sure will make you all ecstatic."

The four of them looked at her with curious eyes.

"I..." Nova paused for dramatic effects and spoke again. "I will be your boss for a month. 2 months at best."

"Huh?" Harvesh was the first to react. "What do you mean?"

"What I said," Nova said.

"Boss, for just a month?" Aleone asked.

"Maybe even less if luck would have it," she said.

"Less?" the others looked at her with a shocked expression. They found it a little difficult to believe.

Not for no reason either.

"Can we ask why?" The Gunblazer asked.

"Sure," Nova said. "I don’t really have an answer though for now. All I can tell you is there is a reason I’m trying to make the gang out there. And when I succeed, I will leave you all alone."

The four looked at her with a tiny hint of suspicion. "Will you give the authority back to Cooper when you’re done?" Aleone asked.

"Do you want me to?" Nova asked.

The four shook their head immediately.

"Thought so," Nova said. "Besides, I don’t think it would really matter if there is a boss or not. Since you know you are under them, you can kill that person at any time and take over."

Demonspawn shrugged a little. "This sounds a little too good to be true," he said. "There should be something here that you’re hiding."

"There are only 2 negatives I can think of in this exchange."

"First, the gang will have to come together. You cannot be 4 different gangs at all," Nova said.

"No, that’s not possible."

"I’m not working with these bastards."

"There is no way any of our subordinates will accept this."

"That’s a recipe for chaos that you do not want at all."

Nova watched them bicker for a few seconds and waited for them to finish talking over each other. When they were done, she spoke again.

"I can see that you hate the idea of merging," she said, looking at them all.

Each one of them nodded as if that was indeed true. Everyone there hated the idea of having to work with each other. They would rather shoot themselves in the face.

"I understand your concerns, but... when did I ever say I was going to merge the 4 of you?" she asked.

The four leaders paused for a second. "What?" they couldn’t help but ask with a confused expression.

"But..." Harvesh spoke up. "Did you not just say that you wanted the gangs to be one, and not four?"

Nova sighed. "If you had let me finish instead of jumping the gun, you would’ve realized that I was talking about the name of the gangs."

"I will need you all to call yourself the Blue Oasis from now on," she said.

"Even that is a little..." The four didn’t find that name as good either.

"Very well, then what about just adding the name to your gang names?" she asked. "Yorfa of the Blue Oasis. Flintlockers of the Blue Oasis. Demonspawns of the Blue Oasis. And finally, Gunblazers of the Blue Oasis."

The four nodded to themselves when they heard that. That wasn’t as bad as they thought it would’ve been.

"Not bad," Aleone said. "I am fine with that change. Change is to be expected with an heirarchy change and this seems to be one that no one would hate."

"I am fine with that too," Gunblazer said.

The other two nodded as well.

Nova smiled. "It will only be the names. I will let you handle the rest of the operations you already handle on your own. No need to come together in that sense," she said.

They were more than happy with that. Not having to deal with the others was a blessing after all.

"So, that’s the first change," Harvesh said. "What’s the second negative change that you want to make?"

Everyone turned to Nova, waiting for her to speak.

"The next challenge?" she asked with a smile. "There’s obviously only one."

"We are going to wage war against the other 3 remaining gangs and make the Low belong only to the Blue Oasis."
