Chapter 213 213 Strange Figure

"Why are you girls still outside, let's go, everyone inside" Roman avoided the question entirely and changed the subject.

"We wanted to know where..."

"Before we go inside I should summon my hawk, I can share its vision so I can see what's happening outside without getting my summon in danger" Reina spoke.

"Ohh, what are you waiting for then, do it" Ava replied.

Reina placed her hands on the ground and a magic circle appeared from which her hawk emerged, it quickly took flight and now the girls were ready to go inside.

Since they had separate rooms, Roman planned to retreat to his room alone and spy on the enemy,. He also wanted to see how Victoria and Evelyn would fight, as he knew they had already responded to the battle.

But as they went inside, the girls saw him walking towards his room and Ava grabbed him.

"Where are you going, you're staying with us" Ava spoke and the rest of the girls were with her.

Roman didn't have any reason to be alone especially when the kingdom was under attack so he followed the girls to their room.

All of them settled down and sat beside Reina as she closed both of her eyes and watched the battle, her hawk hadn't reached the other side so they waited for her.

While Roman sat at the other side of the room close to the window, his knees were up and he wrapped his hands around to create a cushion for his head and lay his head on his knees.

To the girls, it looked like Roman was thinking or worrying about the current situation, but instead, he had begun to share his vision with his summon.

[Hawk Eyes]

This skill allowed the user to share his vision with his summon, it was mainly used for scouting since the user would have to cover his eyes and view the world through the hawk eyes.

Roman immediately found himself close to the wall, but there was something wrong, there wasn't a horde of demons or any mages at all.

'Shit, you're circling the wrong side of the wall' Roman muttered in his mind, not that the hawk could understand but he instructed it to move away.

Roman still didn't fully understand how summons work, it doesn't really make much sense that a creature who wanted to kill you would suddenly become loyal if you bested it in a battle and perform some kind of bonding magic, but it's magic so he didn't care much.

The hawk began moving towards the other side of the wall when something or rather someone caught his eye, a figure outside the kingdom casually walking towards the wall.

He knew this wasn't a coincidence, if it were a mage they wouldn't be outside, and if it were a normal individual, they wouldn't be that calm when demons were just at the other side of the wall, so it was most likely an enemy.

His hawk which was initially returning to the other side of the wall began circling over that particular area and as Roman suspected the figure just placed their hand on the wall and stood there.

'Who the heck is that, and what are they doing, I have no way of alerting anyone, and I can't get a closer look, I can't risk putting my summon in harm's way'

Roman was still in thought when suddenly the figure moved its head and her eyes met Roman's hawk, with his hawk vision he could see her face clearly, she looked like a completely normal human being, there was no way she could be a demon.

But the way she looked at his hawk was so strange, it felt like she was looking at Roman who was inside the palace.

'I thought it was something interesting staring at me, so this kingdom has male mages'

A voice spoke directly in Roman's ears.

"WHAT THE HELL!!" Roman jumped up from the bed he sat down, his heart beating out of his chest, the figure spoke in his ear, and he knew immediately he was a male.

"Roman is something wrong?" Aurelia asked as all the girls turned towards him except Reina who was still connected to her hawk.

Roman couldn't believe what had just happened, there was no way that person was human, a human could never do something like that, and that meant she was part of the attackers and had just come to inspect something.

"The barrier?" Roman mumbled as he sat back down.

'If there are demons like her with the ability to change their appearance to human-like, then she analyzed the barrier so they would be able to pass through and start their destruction from within'

Roman closed both of his eyes and instantly shared his hawk's vision again, but his hawk was already close to the other side of the wall where the actual battle was going on.

Even if he were to direct his hawk, he knew the female he saw wouldn't be there anymore, and most of all, that last encounter was scary, she was somehow able to talk to him through his summon, so he had no idea what other things she could do through his summon.

"Is it just me, or doesn't it seem like Roman is doing the exact thing Reina is doing" Ava spoke as she stared at him.

He didn't explain what happened so the girls' focus was still on him as both of his eyes were closed, and it seemed like he was absent-minded, it also didn't help that he couldn't hear their conversation as he was too busy looking at the horde of demons approaching.

"Now that you say that, but Roman isn't a summoner, he uses flames, there's no way he can be..." Aurelia muttered and stopped midway.

"Did you figure out something?" Clara asked.

"No, I just thought of something else...is there any update from Reina" Aurelia spoke as she left Roman and walked towards Reina.
