Roman heard a tiny crack as he was hit, and knew something was broken, even with the barrier it was impossible to block this attack as it sent him flying.

Roman landed with a loud thud and tumbled a little before coming to a stop, his barrier was still holding, just barely because of his [Protection Enchantment], but the next hit would spell his defeat.

Reina knew it was game over as her horned wolf rushed towards Roman, he was still on the ground and couldn't get up so she knew she had won the fight, but then something hit her.

Reina's hawk was standing just in front of her, it wasn't big and was just for scouting so it didn't cover her entire body, and Roman sent his spell towards her head.

He had used [Conceal] but then at the end, he used his [Self Mirage] to hide both the spell circle and the spell itself from Reina but not from the crowd, and released it just before he was hit by her iron fang.

As soon as the spell hit her, she was sent flying backwards, since it was his [Stone Bullet] with his [Explosive Ember], the moment the spell hit her face, it exploded and sent her tumbling.

Unlike Roman who had protection spells over his normal barrier, Reina had none and so the spell with its power was enough to knock her unconscious as all three of her summons disappeared.

A smile formed on Roman's face as he struggled to stand up while the entire crowd still couldn't believe what had happened, Roman had cast a spell so fast that Reina didn't see it coming and it ended the battle in an instant.

The barrier was brought that next as Reina was already unconscious, she wasn't injured just a mild concussion because of the force of the attack, while Roman's bone which he thought was broken wasn't, it just needed to be put in place.

"The winner of this match Roman" the announcer couldn't even form the words properly and when she did only the students and some nobles clapped their hands.

But now there were sure, Roman wasn't a weakling, he was an S-rank capable of defeating other S-ranks.

Two healers attended to both of them, his arm was healed almost immediately and put back in place, and he felt nothing, while Reina finally woke up to find the match over.

She knew she was hit, but after that nothing, she could see Roman standing and knew she had lost the match, she had thought this was her chance.

"I still have no idea how you managed to win this fight, something did make sense" Aurelia spoke as she stepped in front of Roman.

"Not everything is supposed to make sense, you just have to go with it, go with the flow" Roman muttered with a smile.

"So we're facing each other tomorrow, it's exciting isn't it" Ava spoke as she looked at both of them.

Since the tournament was over today, the Queen stood up and everyone bowed their heads as she left the arena, then the nobles began leaving one after the other.

"I can see why you're confident, it's strange to see a male this strong" Joanna spoke.

"At least now everyone can see he's powerful, and I'm not weak" Reena muttered.

"Trying to console yourself" Lydia spoke as she bent her neck towards Reena.

"At least I didn't lose on the opening day" Reena snapped back.

"Aurelia, is Elena going to be okay?" Roman asked as Aurelia initially followed the healer to check on her.

"Yes, they say she's going to be fine, there's nothing to worry about, she'll wake up in a day or two" she spoke.

"That's good news, well then we should prepare for tomorrow, it's going to be a good day" Roman spoke and immediately the students saw Royal guards running towards the palace.

"Is something going on?"

"I'm sure it's just some important news for the Queen"

"You can call her your mother, it's strange hearing the Queen from your mouth" Ava replied to Aurelia without meeting her eyes.

Then they noticed even more movements from the guards and one of the guards dashed towards them.

"The kingdom is under attack from a horde of demons, you're to seek shelter inside the palace, move now" the guard spoke as she immediately dashed away.

'Attack...again, how long has it been since their last attack, oh shit, what if Avalon is breached, wait... Victoria and Evelyn are in the capital, that can't happen'

The girls stood there in shock still staring at themselves while Roman was already moving backwards, he was trying to distance himself so he could use his summon spell to scout the attack.

This was the Royal Palace so there was no way a demon was going to attack her, the kingdom was covered by a barrier and the Royal Palace was also covered by a barrier.

"We have to get inside right" Ava spoke as she looked at Aurelia who glanced back at her.

"Whatever you're thinking, you need to stop right now, we're going inside the palace to take cover and let actual powerful mages handle this" Reina spoke as she remembered the last time it happened.

"Where is Roman?" Clara asked as they all looked around but he was gone.

"He was just here, don't tell me he went out of the palace?" Ava spoke.

"There are guards at the gate, he wouldn't get past them" Aurelia spoke.

"You really think so, Roman would get past them" Reina spoke then they heard footsteps running behind them and all turned around to see Roman.

He had summoned his hawk and it had taken flight. Now, he just needed to get inside the shard the hawk's vision to see how big an attack this was.

"Where are you coming from?" Aurelia asked.

"Why are you girls still outside, let's go, everyone inside" Roman avoided the question entirely and changed the subject.
