Chapter 777: Twentieth Floor Beast

Chapter 777: Twentieth Floor Beast

'Emergency quest: dungeon escape

Requirements:

Escape the dungeon no matter what

Defeat the current blood moon cultist leader

Rewards:

??????.'

The change in the quest was the least of Clark's worries. He was certain that whatever was going to happen would bring him a lot of extra trouble and work. Especially since he could see the changes in the dungeon already.

The massive amount of dangers when it came to the collapsed terrain already proved that nothing good could be happening. The mountains of stone that were now the twentieth floor would be hard for them to navigate. Getting to the staircase that was somehow still intact and moving through broken floors, broken space, was the priority.

It made no sense to him how this was all possible. He was sure that they would have perished if anything else had gone wrong. However, it was the fact that the monsters used to accomplish this had used space, decaying dark energy, and other more mysterious energies to break the floors in a specific way.

The space between the two floors being broken had caused the collapse and domino effect. It was almost ironic since this was called the domino dungeon.

Regardless, the beasts on each floor had also fallen. Their large size collapsing under the stones that also fell. The odds that most were dead along with their floors would mean that these beasts might be extinct as this dungeon collapsed. They had nowhere to go and no way to survive everything that would happen.

Therefore, because of the blood moon cultists fleeing deeper in to the dungeon, they had managed to destroy every single floor which was a unique habitat for the beasts living there. It made Clark angrier by the second. The more that he thought about it, the worse he felt about how they had lost everything, including their lives.

But the reasoning behind why the cultists had done this could be worse.

They had been fleeing the army that had finally cornered them. The three races uniting and going after them was surely not part of their plans. They would not have made such bold moves to enter the dungeon they had been slowly experimenting within. They would not have pushed down to the deeper floors.

They would certainly not broken the dungeon so that they could get down to the deepest floor possible.

"Where are the others!?" Maria knew that the others would have fallen. But then she looked up and realized that they would still be on the untouched floors. Only the floors that were below the rest of the group had been affected. That meant that she and Clark were the only two that were down here with whatever beasts and blood moon cultists had come down.

"They should be evacuating the others. They wouldn't just come after us without thinking. Ella would stop everyone so that they could focus on evacuating the soldiers and the victims." knowing that this would have been the focus on the group made Clark feel that he and Maria had a better chance of expacing. Not because they didn't  need to worry about others, but because they could move faster alone.

Before they could say anything else or take more of the surroundings in, they felt the ground shift.

The fact that they were only bruised and slightly cut up from the falling rock was already a blessing. But whatever beasts had been crushed were not completely dead. The movements and shaking of the stones was spoof of this.

The cracks above them were also growing. Signs that the dungeon was still being damaged the longer that it was even in existence. The only reason that it hadn't completely collapsed were the insect floors. The one that Clark and Maria were on, the twentieth, being one of them.

This gave the space that the dungeon occupied some semblance of solidity as it slowly cracked and broke. Not that this would be able to last long. Clark could vaguely sense the absence, yet alps chaos, of the energies that made up whatever surrounded the dungeon.

Knowing this wasn't that advantageous though. They had to make their way out if here if that information would ever be useful. Not that a small portion of his mind focused on it and wondered how amazing it would be to grasp space energy.

The shaking intensified as a large hand broke out of the stone. A beast crushed within its grip. "It's crushing a steel muscle barbarian. That's a beast related to the giants. Not the giant race, but the elemental energy giants." The analysis told Clark that the steel muscle barbarian was exceptionally hard to hurt with force.

Specifically because of the powerful skin and muscles that acted as defenses with its metal energy.

'Bloody earth behemoth- monster

Having been forcefully fused with the leader of the blood moon cultists, this monster consists of a blood moon cultists who replaced their blood with a demon's blood and the earthen behemoth, one of the largest beasts that live on the planet.

Due to this, it is exceptionally powerful while using incredibly potent earth energy. It is also more humanoid than behemoth compared to what form it had been in before. It is able to use the earth energy as a defense mechanism while needing to consume large amounts of earth energy.

If it is to consume enough earth. It can even create small mountains. The same can be said for its appetite. However, the influence of the madness within the blood moon cultists' leader have left the monster created to be more violent and abusive with the demonic energy that it has used as a core.

While the demon perished, it had been used for many years of experimentation. This causes the blood used for this transformation to be the last of its being. It also means that the next attempt would be to drag another demon in to the world…'

Clark felt sick learning even more and more about all this. There were so many issues with all this. The reasons that the blood moon cultists had done all this was to become some perfect being. This dungeon was ideal for the insane ideology.

Naturally, the leader would abuse whatever they could to make their perfect world. But they had been forced in to a corner and were made to use drastic means to achieve strength to make that happen. Right now, the worst was happening. They had fused with the most powerful beast within the dungeon.

Not only was this way out of the spectrum of what other monsters that they had fought, this was enough to make it clear that there would be immense casualties if this monster escaped the dungeon.

There were certainly still cultists out in secret bases somewhere. That wasn't a thing that was hidden at all. Instead, it was something that would be seen in much greater numbers and worries if this monster were to make it to the surface. Not enough people could fight this monster.

That meant that the cultists that were in hiding would become more active. That those who were prepared to leave behind the good values due whatever reasons might follow this monstrosity as a leader because of the power. They had to stop it here.

"Maria, get out of here and just leave behind some poisons for me to use." Clark was ready to put it all on the line here. He was facing an opponent that he needed to defeat. It could easily climb out of this dungeon and in to the world.

"You are the dumbest idiot I have ever met if you think that I am leaving you to face that thing alone." Maria was watching as the blood earth behemoth was climbing out of the stones. Its body was only becoming larger. The earth horns dripping blood were definitely more intimidating than what they could have been before it became this monster.

"And you are out of your mind if I am keeping you here to fight that. Especially since we are going to use all the energy I have to handle it." Clark glared at Maria for a moment. He was sure that he had to get her to leave. He was prepared to risk it all too if he needed. He did not want to watch her die here.

"Ahhhh, true power. How sweet it is."

The rumbling voice proved an even greater threat than what either of them had wished for right now. The fact that the intelligence had remained within the monster's mind meant that the behemoth had not taken any control. It had been completely taken over by the leader of the blood moon cultists.

"That's not getting any better." Clark prepared the lunar dragon spear while he saw that the blood dripping from the bloody earth behemoth's body caused the stone it touched to steam slightly. Nothing about this was getting better, only worse and worse the longer that they sat there.

"I need to make an antidote to that if I can." Maria saw that she had to tap in to the alchemy knowledge she had. It was the only way. Meanwhile, Clark realized he might have to go beyond his limits to survive this. To keep Maria safe.
