Chapter 778: Too Weak
Chapter 778: Too Weak
"Ah, more materials. I have strived for the last thirty years to ensure that as the leader of the worlds' future, that I will obtain all I need. And you say weak things like antidotes?" Maria and Clark had no idea that the behemoth monster still pulling itself from the stones had heard them.
The deep gravelly voice sounded like a twisted mix of what could only be a monster unable to speak words, and a human that had found themselves sick for years. It just wasn't natural at all.
"You won't be able to poison the world with your evil. We will purify it!" Maria was not going to let herself become intimidated by this monster. The bloody behemoth was not a monster that she could fight alone, but she trusted Clark. She knew he had not used all of his strength in some time. That he could go well beyond what she even comprehended.
"Ahh, how foolish. Do you not see the perfect form? All races on this world will be able to accept the full potential that comes with unifying with their beasts. We are all incomplete. We could have fused with our spirit beasts and we failed. That is why we live separately."
The preaching voice was not just a singular one. Clark could see that there were aspects of the bloody behemoth that were changing. Looking down at it, he saw that the dripping blood from the horns was hitting the bodies of dead beasts or dying beasts.
These beasts had been uncovered by the bloody behemoth as it had dug itself out from what could have been the twentieth floor. It was still astounding that the leader of the blood moon cultists had managed to land and fuse himself with this beast. That he had planned it all.
But what Clark was focused on right now, was the simple fact that the blood touching these beasts was pulling them in toward the bloody behenmouth. That they were being absorbed by it. That was how the bloody behemoth was getting stronger. How it was gathering its energy to alter itself even further. Why the shape was larger and also becoming more humanoid while displaying deadlier characteristics.
"The demon that we trapped years ago was always a failed experiment. Years and years of attempts to make it give up power. To make it tell us the secrets of demonic energy. All failures. Until I finally managed to make it bleed."
Clark realized that this rant was also full of madness. But as the bloody behemoth continued, he was able to see that he was in a worse situation than before. The cracks of the dungeon were slightly expanding every second. Enough to show that the collapse of this space was imminent.
"So many tried to stop progress once I had crushed the demon's body. Once I had managed to gain its blood. I used it to fuse with my spirit beast. The scholar brain was a pathetic and weak beast only good for assisting in research. storing away the useless data then sharing it back. It couldn't be used for anything.
No defense. No attack. Nothing!"
This was the same feeling many people had for beats that did not have higher strength. But having a beast like that was always good in other ways. Maria had been followed to think ehr beast was pathetic and weak. A healing beast. Something useless since there were better beats for combat.
Yet, now she had learned that people had been very wrong. There were ways to grow and lead the healing type beasts together with their tamers. So that they could fight, heal, and defend their values. It just had to do with viewpoint. With mindset. People needed to open themselves up to other potentials.
"Then when it melded with me properly, I was able to understand. My spirit beasts was here to allow me to grow my own brain. It lost its will, but we became one soul. One body! That is how all things should be. Unified.
That is why I sought out powerful beasts, you know. You saw what else came to be."
Clark was thinking about the many monsters that had been sacrificed to break this dungeon. How they had lacked their own wills. How they had just been sued in the end like the monsters without intelligence.
"You can become material so that I can better arrange the demonic blood potions. You will see what you are meant to be. Not that broken shape. You have strength, so I will make you the perfect being just like I am."
"With the demon as the core of this body. The blood will be used for making everything new. The entire world will finally become perfect. Then I will follow the elves and the dwarves to their world. Unite them with their other halves."
"Don't touch the blood and stay back." Clark was unsure what else he could do. The energy within the bloody behemoth was growing. But worse off yet, Devi and Shy had just barely managed to sneak to places where they might be able to attack as well.
He worried that they would be unable to damage the bloody behemoth. If Devi bit it, he would be drawing away soul energy from the cultist leader and also from many beasts. It might not have much effect. Then the shadow threads would surely be unable to make it move to Shy's will. She would have to control the dead beast bodies so that they could attack and allow her to remain further away.
If they could do damage at all.
The monologue from the bloody behemoth continued as he went in to more details. Details that went about expaking how he had fused small parts of beasts to a body. Watching how they had acclimated before degrading under he demon blood and demonic energy. They had been failures.
Then he experiments with using younger, older, and weaker people as the materials. Fusing them with their spirit beasts. Killing their spirit beasts and fusing them with other beasts at the same time. Finding that if they were fused with another beast, that they could kill the spirit beast which might be useless or not ideal with fusion.
But most of all, finding that fusing certain beasts could allow them to be better used for future experimentation. Being able to control their will. Being able to manipulate their actions or whatever they did in general. It was a literal bragging monologue of evil that had been committed.
Before the monster could move, Clark had allowed Crim to take the strongest form he had as armor. The celestial slime armor had the wings in a slightly more aerodynamic firm. It allowed a powerful push off the ground and Clark was able to leap further.
When his sudden movement was caught in the eyes of the bloody behemoth, he slashed at the oncoming hand used to try to grab him. The lunar storm spear slashed through the singers and caused them to fall. But before Clark could think this was a good attack, he noticed that the dangers were growing back.
"Ah, having so much material stored in this body allowed me to train the flaws. It also allows me to fuse them with others if I have the right subjects." The cult leader was proud of these achievements.
However, Clark and Maria began to notice that the blood flowing from the horns was now also flowing from the eyes. Flowing from the ears. Flowing from the nose. The bloody behemoth kept bleeding more and more.
"See this? Even this body wishes to change the wod with demonic energy and demonic blood. I will leave this dungeon and do so. Follow me little materials, you can not harm me."
The blood moon cult leader had decided to take this as a sign that he should go after the many materials gathered at the entrance of the dungeon. That Clark and Maria would most likely just follow him outside anyways. Therefore it was best to just make a more logical move. Make more monsters that would be able to show the world that there was perfection potential.
The hand that reached up dug in to the stairs as it dragged its body further. The blood dripping down on the stairs made it nearly impossible from Clark to walk behind it. He had to grab Maria and have Crim take them in to the air.
They flew behind the bloody behemoth that rushed up the stairs and tore through the cracking dungeon.
Sounds of the soldiers evacuating came to their ears, but the bloody behemoth just laughed as he was hearing the signs he wanted. Clark slashed at its back but the cultists didn't notice whatsoever. The attacks didn't even do enough damage to cause a lasting wound.
The maniacal laughter that grew only matched the blood falling to the ground. The demonic energy radiating through it more and more as the monster burst out of the dungeon in to the army surrounding it. Clark and Maria watching as the dungeon entrance crumbled. As they now faced the worst monster yet.
