Chapter 767: Blood And Darkness

Chapter 767: Blood And Darkness

"Another monster!" The shout brought Clark toward the sound of screams yet again. The dwarf that was being fused together with their beast was too far gone. The whaler that had been trying to rescue them had failed and was collapsed on the ground. Out of energy.

Manmy had become numb to the events on this fourth floor of the domino dungeon. The experiments of the blood moon cultists had left behind many monsters here that were still experimenting. If anything, the experimentation and increased when the blood moon cultists had pushed down the deeper fifth floor.

They had no regard for right and wrong. Isnetad, they had continued to try to force all the captives on this floor to change their form. To become monsters as they believe the world should be full of monsters. A monster being some completed form of life between beast and tamer.

They were already up to seventeen failed rescues made so far. The process of the elf, dwarf, or human prisoners being fused with the beasts they had partnered with or even beasts forced on them had gone to unapproachable level.

The healers with the ability to purify or to cleanse the demonic energy within the demonic blood potions had been exhausted. They were doing everything that they had in them to possibly help. One of their beasts had been pushed to the point that the tamer had fallen in to a small coma.

On top of all this, there were even those that were suffering from backlashes. They had pushed themselves too far while attempting to pursue the best method to save others. Their efforts were not worthless though. Their efforts made them the heroes of this floor and this battle.

Seventy three people of different races, humans kidnapped from the two cities attacked, elves secretly stolen from their homes, and dwarves robbed from wreckage. All of them had been imprisoned with a destiny to never again have their own minds and their partners be free of pain. Now, they were safe and being brought out for this dungeon.

It was something that inspired the soldiers who had cleared this area of blood moon cultists. But the fight was not over by a long shot. The only reason that it had even paused was because of the sheer number of cages that had been on the massive fourth floor.

The beasts that lived on these floors were still small in the grand scheme of things. Especially when the beasts would get larger the deeper within this dungeon someone would go. However, the large chambers were already many times larger than what Clark had imagined they would be like.

The space was enough that the further passageways would surely have been more dangerous if this was left to be a beast owned floor and not taken over by the cultists. Simply because the beasts that could live here would have been more accustomed to their environment than the monsters just experimenting and ignoring other things for the most part.

With the perimeter prepared for any random events that might appear, Clark saw that Isa was taking the lead to the fifth floor. She had already let the winter witch meld with her using her special family technique. Being able to do so made her feel almost cruel.

Simply because she had just witnessed monsters being forced together. Witnessed their pain. Yet here she was, able to meld with her partners at will without issue. She was even able to go beyond that now…

"We are moving forward, you are sure you can handle this" Maria saw that Isa had hesitated. But seeing that Isa had nodded her head, she realized it was not a worry for what came ahead, but a worry for how many more victims they might fail to save.

"We will be saving them all. Even if saving them means putting them out of their pain." This was something everyone accepted. They knew very well that the pain the monsters were in was not what any single person deserved. Every single soldier here accepted that when they saw the experiments being run on their people.

Without anything holding them back, Isa took the first step dowards yet again. They could all feel the greater tension. Clark had prepared himself and had Shy hanging on his back with every intention to sue her shadow threads at the smallest notice.

A snarl broke the silence and Isa moved downwards. The following shout she gave as she sent a spear of ice forward was only met with a sharp squeal and more snarling. She had encountered a beast, or a monster, but the darkness that was on the fifth floor appeared to have been intentionally made.

"Torches!" The order went out as the torches were passed up to the front and thrown in to the dark lighting.

On the ground were shattered crystals that had been part of the fifth floor dungeon naturally. They had been broken intentionally to cause a dark environment. This was all done so that the cultists had an advantage. But this was supposedly their main base, so why had they done this?

The drooling map of a monster greeted them next. A spear of ice stuck in its brown furred arm. "Werewolf!"

This recognition was something that many had not expected. They thought it would be a monster, but what they did not realize was that this was exactly that.

'Werewolf minion- monster

Often confused with the beast, Lycan, sometimes referred to as its own race, the werewolf is actually a monster created by fusing certain wolf type beasts and a humanoid creature. Depending on the fused version, the werewolf minion will be stronger, faster, or smarter.

The sharp claws and the powerful jaws come from the wolf aspect, but the darkness and earth dual energy affinities allows it to blend on to the dark shadows and also be tougher. This is why they are harder to fight overall. One of the tougher monsters with powerful physical strength and lacking in magical energy attacks.

They are very loyal to the powerful alpha werewolf that they follow. Because of this, they will follow every order that they are given regardless of the dangers. Their minds are no longer theirs due to this. They have entirely been converted from who they had once been before becoming a monster…'

"Humans, elves, and dwarves. All perfect experimental subjects. My lord has promised me a pick of any who I feel would fit the pack I am creating. Those who wish to live, show me a reason." The growled out voice was like someone had scraped nails on metal. It made everyone shiver slightly.

But even worse, was that there was a large amount of darkness energy that radiated from the figure coming in to view as more torches were thrown. As fire arrows had been shot ahead to show off the massive laboratory.

'Alpha blood moon werewolf- monster

This werewolf was created by a madman who desired to become one with the silver moon wolf. By forcing his partner and himself to share blood under the direction of a demon, he fused his body and destroyed the ego of his silver moon wolf. Left behind was a shell full of instincts to kill and bathe in blood.

After three years of running wild, the tamer's mind finally resurfaced and he began gathering pack members.

The darkness energy and the blood energy are uniquely mixed together to allow for a powerful strength and even a decaying effect that is left behind when attacked by claws or bitten. It even has the chance to forcefully begin a partial fusion of wolf beast materials left behind in the saliva of the bite.

This is extremely dangerous due to the tendency to run berserk along with the fact that this monster is constantly looking for strength and blood. The best way to handle it is to gradually cut its body until the heart can be pierced to kill it entirely. This is tough though since the darkness affinity allows it to survive wounds through rotting them.

The potential to lose the blood affinity and become an undead monster if the heart is not destroyed is extremely high…'

Unsettling was all that Clark saw and read. The laboratory had many chemicals and experimental herbs. There were also bodies cut up in to pieces. Clearly the experiments had been revolving around transferring monster organs to living beings so that they could take on aspects of that monster. A worse thought than what he wanted.

However, reading the analysis on the speaking monster before him, made Clark understand the level of danger that they had come in to contact with. While other powerful monsters were being hunted by other powerful members of the universal alliance, he knew that some would be here.

This monster had a powerful affinity to darkness though. It could partially turn people in to monsters which meant it would be hard on the whalers. It could also generally go berserk and cause a slaughter. That wasn't even mentioning the minions it had around that followed its every order.

"Show us a good time. We like meals that dance well."
