Spirit Taming

Chapter 766: Prisoners

Chapter 766: Prisoners

Once Reese had mentioned something, Clark was able to pick up on it too. He had been focused on the surroundings that they had found themselves in. but as they moved down the stairs to the fourth floor, he felt that the spiritual energy was very chaotic. Like something had failed to control its own energy.

The sudden scream that broke the air was enough to push Ralph, Brad, and Reese ahead even more. They were certain that they were finding something ahead that they didn't want to see. But they could not turn back. They had come so far. Become so powerful. Just to turn away from a scream for help?

No.

That was not who they were and not the life they lived. That was why they rushed down the stairs to see something horrendous.

'Earth spirit octopus- monster

This is a monster that has barely changed forms when it was created. Instead, it was able to gain intelligence from the human aspect of its fusion. The earth spirit octopus is a normally intelligent beast that uses spiritual energy to enable it to absorb more earth energy. That is how it is able to create eight tentacles of earth that connect to its soft body.

These monsters have a very large curiosity and will often go wherever they can to experiment and explore. This makes them a very troublesome monster since they do not have the same limitations that most moral beings have.

Using their earth control, they can extend their tentacles to attack more easily or to defend more easily. Their only weakness is their main body where their spiritual energy is normally stored. They can also cooperate with one another to be able to lift, move, and interact with larger things using their spiritual and earth energy…'

It wasn't the earth spirit octopus that was scary. It wasn't what was causing issues or screams. No, it was what the earth spirit octopus was doing.

Five of them surrounded a cage where they were forcing a trapped elf to swallow a vial of potion. The beast in the cage with her was also held by the earth tentacles and being forced to swallow a vial of potion. The results were a violent reaction of spiritual energy that radiated from the two of them.

"The bond between that elf and her beast is breaking down! We need to get someone with a light related beast to repel the demonic energy within the potion right now if we want to save her!" Clark barely skimmed the analysis of the woman and her feline beast. He knew they needed action over everything else right now.

Reese could see the spiritual energy moving under the brown earth covered skin of the main body of the monsters forcing this experiment on the terrified elf. He could also see where the earth connected to the body of the monster he knew he had to kill immediately.

"Reese, use the new sword and take out the two on the left!" Brad made sure that Reese had the attack prepared while he put his weight behind his shield. He and his possessed armanent were able to use their skills to push themselves harder without risk of damage than before.

Naturally, he showed this off by smashing one of the unsuspecting earth spirit octopuses in to the wall and crushing its weaker body.

Reese on the other hand dashed ahead. Any opponent would see that he was not wielding his spirit steel sword beast. That was where they would make the false assumption that he was going to fight with hand to hand combat. Or that he was just a fool.

But what they would not know, was that when the additional sword had been given to him, it had reacted spectacularly.

Instead of just simply being used as a sword that he and his partner could control, his sword had resonated with the unique ten fold spiritual metal used. The unique runes and spiritual energy able to be stored within the sword reacted without a single flow. It was the perfect catalyst to use every bit of prepared spirit and metal energy that the spirit steel sword had been holding on to.

Everyone had been there to witness the spirit steel sword take a hold of more than a few spiritual and metal energy crystals. Even a few slivers and scrap pieces of spirit steel or ten fold steel were absorbed to ensure that their process went smoothly.

Now, what Clark and the others were watching was not just a spirit steel sword. No, they were witnessing a special beast that could absorb multiple swords that it altered and used as extensions of its main sword body. The goal would be eventually to be exactly what Reese and his partner had wished.

Something that even Clark had not seen as a potential with the analysis until the conditions had been met.

'Dual Sword Spirit steel emperor- legendary

This is a beast that uses metal and spiritual energy to perfectly fuse together to create sword aura. Having shed the light affinity it is still somewhat familiar with entirely, it has purified its form. It has also taken on the finely crafted alternate body which it split part of its consciousness in to.

N by doing so, it has extended its ability to manipulate itself and the other sword as one being. This also allows it to fight on various fronts while sharing spiritual energy with its tamer. The tamer can also channel the metal and spiritual energy to attack with a sword aura blade without holding either sword. However, when holding the original sword body, sword aura strength is tripled.

As the growth of spirit and metal energy continues, as long as another sword of equal or greater quality is offered, then there's a chance to gain another separate body. The maximum this species of beast can reach would be the seven sword spirit steel emperor. The top potential for any beast using sword aura with their partner.

Because of the unique nature of this…'

There was so much information about the beast that Clark had felt he would need a lot more time to review it. He has written everything down, but believed he would see more as the seven swords were reached. But that was a journey that could take years. For now, he rested easy knowing that Reese was able to fight much better now than before.

Reese raised a hand and slashed downward as if he was using a sword. The immediate force of sword auras slashing through the main body of the first earth spirit octopus caused it to not even realize it had died as it fell in to pieces.

The next burst of sword aura came from the sword hiding above him. It had slashed down and shattered the bars on the cage trapping the feline beast and the elf woman. Their pain screams still causing the air within the large chamber to become heavy with worry as more soldiers rushed in.

The last sword unsheathed itself from the scabbard on Reese's waist. The sword aura on it as the main body was much more powerful. The blue spirit marks that covered it were only made more brilliant by the unique silver shimmer of metal energy fusing with the spiritual energy. Before the other earth octopus could rationalize it, it had fallen to pieces right next to the first.

"Light healer related beasts! Get here now!"

Ralph had taken the role of rescuer while the other two fought. He was laying the thrashing beast and woman on the ground. The feline beast was losing fur at a terrifying rate while the elf appeared to become more gaunt and pale.

As an elven healer threw himself to the ground with his partner next to him, he began to channel the light purifying energy he could in to the women. His partner, the sunlight slug, was slowly covering her body in a yellow sunlight energy which was purifying the demonic energy. It wasn't working fast enough though.

The two were clearly getting weaker and weaker which prompted three more healers to join in. They worked together smoothly while those nearby held their breath. The process felt like an eternity had passed before the cries of pain subsided. Both beast and elf vomited a dark substance with some blood mixed in before the healers lost their worry lines.

"We have stabilized her. We will begin healing her internal organs. Please secure a retreat for us." Ralph heard every word and grabbed the nearest soldiers to escort the woman out. This was the very first person they rescued, and judging from the other cages nearby, it would not be the last. That was as long as they could handle the remaining earth spirit octopuses.

"Fight for their freedom! Destroy their evil experiments! Rescue every single prisoner without any quarter for mercy!" Both the elf and dwarf shouted out as they witnessed the humans not even taking a moment to think. They had already followed their emotions and ran to battle. This human quality made both feel that they had a long way to grow as races.
