Chapter 754: Different Alchemy

Chapter 754: Different Alchemy

'Spindle mushroom- rare

Due to the odd shape that this brown mushroom grows in, it was named the spindle mushroom. It possessed a greater amount of earth energy along with a small amount of water energy. It is a main ingredient in a potion designed to help earth attribute beasts absorb higher quality earth energies. Due to this, it is very rare and often costs a large amount at auction.

Little skeleton rib- rare

An undead material from a smaller skeleton species. It is often lost due to the size and weakness of the small skeleton. However, it possesses enough undead energy that it can help a weaker undead beast grow.

This is considered rare because finding pieces of undead beasts that fall off naturally and still retain undead energy is a rare event. This is one reason why some people will use stealth to traverse ruins…

Healing lollipop- rare

This is a unique healing potion that was bonded with sugar. It was made by a very high class spirit chef and their partner. Due to this, it is considered a delicacy that is loved by children from rich families…

Medium sized fire crystal- rare…

Lightning gold ore - rare

The lightning gold is a golden ore that was struck by a lightning storm multiple times. This makes it an incredible conduction of lighting energy, derived from multiple other energies. Due to this, it will sell for a large amount.

It can be used for forging unique weapons that can channel the multiple energies needed to create or wield lighting. It is often used in conjunction with a beast that needs lighting. Soek will use this to create lightning rods to trap lighting energy or to even trap lightning elementals.

This is done by…'

The rewards from the hidden quest and now the quest to help the dwarves was amazing. He was sure that every single one would come in handy. The lighting gold ore seemed to stand out the most. While the other materials were not useless, they were not what he could use immediately.

The lighting gold ore could be used right now though. The dwarves were letting the group enter the main wall and in to their main base. Therefore, they would have a chance to see how the dwarven people lived. How they functioned as a people.

Although, as the group followed the dwarf that the commander had instructed to guide them, they did not expect what they saw.

It was empty.

Only about seven dwarves could be seen on the streets. The stone buildings standing nearly alone. It made the entire place feel liek it was empty. Yet, here and there would be the sounds of a mechanical golem moving around. They would be moving materials or stopping at buildings to drop off materials. They were used liek a delivery service.

"A lot of people out today. The commotion has stirred things up." The guiding dwarf made this comment which stunned the group.

"This is a lot of people out and about? The streets are so empty!" Seeing that Grace could not hold it back very well, the rest of the group accepted this and nodded. They too were wondering what the deal was.

"Yes it is. Most everyone stays within their workshops. Even the end of the world would not move them. It's very inspiring." This was just normal to the dwarf guiding them. It set a very large precedence for the ways that the dwarves acted.

The fact that they had all seen so many dwarves outside the walls and fighting was just going to show how different the soldiers were. Not that they really were. Most of them piloted their golems while they had multiple other mechanical war golems as their bound beasts.

This meant that they were still never technically outside and functioning. Just inside a different method. Stil shut off from the world in a way.

When Clark thought about what this might mean for the race as a whole, he believed the ideals that the dwarves were losing their people. They were so caught up in what they were doing that they had missed the fact that they were going to lose their lives here. The idea that they would die within their labs or forges was just an every day thing for them. Maybe even a dream of theirs.

Beyond that, it also showed how stubborn and trapped in their ways the dwarves were. While the commander and the soldiers were the protectors, they were open minded for that reason. They had to consider what they were protecting. How they could manage the safety of people like this. Therefore, they threw themselves in to their roles entirely.

The same obsession but different expressions.

"As you can see, we have a great deal of forges that are built so that our people can function to their best abilities. It takes a few years to make a golem of specific natures. There are some that have been in progress for over twenty years. One man even took a full seventy five years to produce a war archer golem. It is held in one of the largest forges in our homeland.

The best place to learn about archery golems."

"Just curious, how long do your people often live?" This was a common question. The elves were more vague since they referenced the ways that pants grew sometimes. That they could live as long as certain species of trees did.

"Most of my people will live to be two hundred years old. Not too long. Some of our creations can last for many more years than that." While this was still a long time to live, it made it feel like the dwarves and the elves were able to live many times compared to the length that humans usually lived. Yet, they also lived pretty long based on what beast they had with what energy affinity.

Moving on from this, the group followed the dwarf deeper in to the stone buildings and the nearly abandoned streets. They could see the high amount of detail in the carved stones used. Some of them even had ornate metal work added to them. Literally carved so that they fit together within one another. Something that took a lot of skill and precision.

The stone used had also been mined from the mountain plateaus that they were currently on. It made it feel that Clark was using the analysis just to get basic information that he could have guessed in the first place.

This was still not everything though. He was noticing that there were more shapes and sizes to the mechanical golems that he had already seen. There were some that used certain beast materials to replicate flying. Those mechanical golems were carrying letters and other papers through the base.

Then there were the larger golems that were modeled after other beasts. They Were moving larger materials. This made them indispensable to the base as a whole. Without them, there would be a lack in man power so to speak. The dwarves would not have their materials delivered which would stop their building and experimentations.

If the dwarves put even half the focus that they did when making the small gears in extreme detail within these golems on to another aspect of their lives, they might accomplish even greater things. It was hard to believe that they did not have alchemy focused dwarves. Let alone those that followed the obsessions of the blood moon cultists.

"I see that you are having a hard time understanding. We have many different craftsmen within our walls. Not just metal. We are just moving through the predominantly forging area now, I assure that we have high quality leather, wood, and even some other experimental crafting areas of expertise." The dwarf had confused the looks for them needing other methods of crafting to be done.

"What about alchemy or anything else?"

The guiding dwarf spoke slowly. "If you are wanting to see those crazy meme bros of our race, then you may wish to wear more armor and have a beasts that filters out poisons. The air in those places… it is not safe for even the strongest of forgemasters." nwo this was something. The alchemy herbs were that dangerous.

"They make liquid metal potions to coat the armors of other mechanical golems. Cause lighting channel end gears to exist against all odds. Even use their methods to channel herbs in to the stones that refuse to inherit the secondary elemental affinities needed to bond with metals. All of it is beyond normal."

Now this was an interesting thing that the group had never heard. Alchemy was used for healing potions. For stamina or nutrient potions. Not for something like adding liquid metals to other metals. That waa forging wasn't it?

"Maria, you want to learn all that." Ralph was already prepared to barge in to any of these workshops and have Maria learnt all. especially since he knew these sorts of dwarven secrets had to lead to even better forging results. Especially since he could tell how high quality they would be just from witnessing some of the golems he could see now.
