Chapter 751: Victory And Allies
Chapter 751: Victory And Allies
"You humans are suicidal! My fighters are telling me that you went in to battle without any defense!? Some human with only their beast in armor form fighting with an odd spear. Then this human that showed up in our camp during battle! You could have been killed."
The way that the commander now thought of humans was very twisted. He could feel that they were completely crazy in all essence. Especially since they were able to rush in to battle against monsters and join the dwarves like it was nothing. It didn't make any logical sense whatsoever.
"I could say we are a bit crazy." Clark didn't feel this was far off the mark. Especially since he was looking at things from the opposite side of things. Not many people would be willing to put it all on the line to rush in to battle.
There was also the fact that the rest of the group Clark had told the dwarves about were at the mining city ruins healing the dwarves. They were fighting the monsters down there too. Between there and here, the wounded were many and there would be many needing healing when the elves got there.
"I know you came here for a reason, but this is no time to be building alliances and focusing on whatever it is you wish to do. We have nothing left to do right now."
"That's exactly why we need to be here. The blood moon cult made those monsters. It put that blood monster inside that centipede monster to control it. That's how it was controlled. It was sent here to turn you all in to monsters and allow them to take over the dungeon that connects to your home. The elves and humans were also attacked."
Clark began sharing the current events with what had happened. How many cities had been attacked by the cultists. How they had kidnapped the innocent people and then used them to attempt a takeover of the elven city.
The number of deaths alone were higher than what anyone would want to think about. Note adding on the attacks of the dwarves and how they had easily known the location for the mining city along with the base, it made it very clear. The blood moon cultists had not been as ideal as anyone thought during these years of peace.
They had taken dwarves, humans, and elves from their cities in to their cult. Ensured that they were the perfect spies before they became monsters. From that, they had managed to create so much suffering from everything. So much pain. Now, they had to ban together so that the cultists would not be causing any more damage than theta had already done.
"You think that there is a larger base around here, don't you." the commander had begun to notice how Clark thought. He had a battle in tuition that had grown through years and years of defending a city. That was why he had been put in charge in the first place.
Unlike the natural dwarven focus on forging or crafting, the commander had focused on battle. strategy, tactics, whatever anyone wanted to call it, he was the expected here. From all that, he had made the best defenses he could make his people create. But here they sat, the walls broken, his defenses broken as well. He also had the worry that there would be more coming.
The cultists were known to be persistent.
Looking at it this way, proved that there would be more too. The blood moon cult had spent years regrowing to this size. Creating monsters with enough power to have killed everything if the humans had not come to cause a revolution.
The only methods that would have saved their base would have ended everyone's lives. That would have been a loss for the commander. He could not have that as his legacy. Letting their dungeons and base be open to invaders would show that they had nothing left. That they are weak and that the did not deserve the title of defenders.
"Approaching forces from the cliff side!" the shout came to the commander. He leaped to move to the wall before Devi sent Clark a mental message that the group was here with allies.
"Dwarf Commander, those are my group and the reinforcements. The elves came when we called. They are part of our alliance. They want the same revenge as you." Clark knew that the elves could not spare many warriors because they had to defend their lands from the damage done by the blood moon cultists. But they still sent some.
"The elves should have sent healers too. They have powerful natural healers that should be helping our healer regain your people's health. Many were sure to be injured." Clark spoke softly as he moved to look at what the commander was looking at.
What shocked Clark, were the many injured being carried. Over a hundred elves marched carrying different dwarves on sliding sleds made from fabrics and metal wreckage. They had gone out of their way to strap them in and carry every single saved dwarf back.
The dwarfs that could move themselves, were also carrying the injured. The beasts and mechanical golems that survived were doing the same. Not a single person was working less than another. It was a show of unity that was there even without a single alliance with the dwarven rave created.
"I think I underestimated your alliance, human. No, Clark, I will ally with you against what we dwarves believe. Forget stubborn actions or standing alone. We will join you to defeat the cultists so that they do not continue their toxic growth."
While Clark and Jerold were glad to see their allies and also to know that the dwarves would also be joining them, they both understood that it was because of the situation. The blood moon cultists had caused so much damage that even the hatred between the dwarves and the elves felt like nothing.
"The Universal Alliance will accept you and your people. We will focus on joining together to prevent the blood moon cult from growing. Attack their main base when we have the locations together. And, Aphelion city is welcoming to all races. It will not just be human. It is a city given up to be for the universal alliance as a whole.
So that we do not go to war with one another ever again."
This made the commander feel he had finally been blessed to be here. In all this death, there was at least one good thing to be seen of it all. There was a chance that there would be allies in the future. Would be a chance that there would not be any more loss for them. Especially since there would be a greater chance that they could regrow.
"Maria!" Clark caught sight of Maria leading his group. They had their own burdens that they had already placed down to the dwarves who had rushed out to help. Maria was walking with a slight sway, clearly she was at the end of her energy. After climbing the cliff with the help of others, she had no energy left.
"You did very well." Clark held her up and helped her move to a secluded place. The commander did not see any reason that he should press for more details. Right this second, there was just healing and rebuilding that needed to be done. The mining city could be dealt with later. Whatever was there for ruins or remaining monsters would be handled in time.
"There are over a hundred that were rescued. The ones we lost after finding them are less than twenty. It wasn't enough though." The way that Reese spoke made it clear that he and the others were feeling the weight of deaths on their shoulders.
"How many would have died if you weren't there then? Every single one of them." Jerold made it clear that he didn't want to hear it. Especially since the survivors were here.
"Reporting in from the matriarch. Ally Clark, you have full command of the battle healer team eight and the warrior teams seven and nine." The elf that came up was prompt with her speech but looked ready to get back to work.
"We appreciate you rushing here. Right now, it is important to let the matriarch know that we might have a lead on the location of the main base. The humans also need to be told. The dwarven territory most likely houses the main base of the blood moon cult." Clark shared more details he felt proved this.
The fact that the crimson blood slime had so much of its body as the demonic blood tainted potion proved that they must have their main base nearby. That amount of their potion couldn't come from a small base that they had seen before.
It meant that they all had a major target in the area which needed to be taken out. If They were too slow, then they might miss this chance. The remaining cultists would be hunted down without whatever their main leader was driving them to do.
