Chapter 750: Second Monster
Chapter 750: Second Monster
The dwarfs began to cheer. The mechanical golem's piloted by the dwarf also showed a lot of energy since that was the result of the dwarves cheering from within. The mechanical golems otherwise kept moving. They were still fighting the few dwarven monsters created from the demonic potions that had been spread.
This was a sight to be seen. The ark energy suddenly losing all control over it caused it to dissipate extremely quickly in the sunlight. This was just the balance of energies in the world. The dark energy would normally not be this thick here.
Even the body sections of the shadow swarm centipede were losing their dark energy very quickly. Clark could only think about how he could store away more pieces of this body, including the head, so that Shy could use the dark energy. She had the specific shadow energy typing, but she now had a closer relationship with dark energy after her growth. She was a powerful beast now, a unique species.
If Shy gained more understanding of her secondary typing, then she would surely gain a better control over the shadow energy she had. It was just how close and related the two were. One was just slightly more unique than the other. Rarer.
Yet, Clark did not sense anything good. While the main monster had been taken out by his lunar storm spear strike, he felt that nothing was right. The body of the monster was laying defeated, blood oozing out of it, causing a pool to appear on the ground.
He also didn't see the system quest complete. He had to help rescue the dwarves from the ruins of the mining city which his group should be completing sooner than later. They were stronger than what even he would let himself think sometimes.
That just left the saving of this base. The dwarven home base on his world. It had been attacked and there had been two walls left to protect it. Yet, that left him wondering whether or not things would be a good or bad position. Especially since they had just lost a great amount of their base.
Regardless of this, the feeling that something was wrong did not go away. Clark could sense that his partners felt the same. There was a tension in the air that was not being broken away. That was when he realized that there was another beast they were forgetting.
no, another monster that they were forgetting.
A violent hissing sound began to come from the connected body of the shadow swarm centipede. Its Broken body began to move and the carapace cracked. From the slides of its body, a deep crimson blood began to pool. It was thicker than what the blood it had bled was earlier.
'Crimson blood slime- monster
By forcing a spirit slime to only consume the blood of its tamer for ten years, the tamer was finally consumed entirely. When this happened, the tamer lost their mind and became the core of the slime.
Due to this, the body has been compressed in to a skeletal slime core that produces blood based on the food that the slime body consumed. Therefore, the spiritual affinity for the monster is used entirely to feed the skeletal core and produce the bloody body of the slime instead of being used to heal or other methods natural to a slime.
There is also a downside to this, the risk of being killed is higher because the blood can carry poisons in to the skeletal core. Yet, this is avoided by using the toxic bloods of other monsters as a way to defend the core's natural weaknesses.
It will often use its body to enhance the monsters it possess. Then when that monster or beast perishes, the crimson slime will consume all their blood to grow. It has a very unique method of controlling water because of it having third type of affinity.
The blood typing only comes because of its food and the water and spiritual affinity it gained from consuming blood. To defeat it, the best method would be to destroy the core entirely. However, this monster had consumed a high amount of demonic energy through using the demon blood lace potions within its body.
Due to all this, it can use its body and concentrate the potion to cause a being to become a monster. This is lower chances currently because it used almost all of its main body and demonic energy to create a great number of monsters in a demon blood laced potion rain. However, it is still slowly creating monsters when it has a chance.
This is the length of the intelligence of this species of monster. It is only able to be ordered by the one that created it due to warping the minds and souls of the tamer and the beast while it was forcibly being created…'
Clark felt a pain in his heart as he realized that this person, this beast, and now this monster had been tortured for ten years. The tamer had been bled until his beasts had lost their mentality and connection. Consuming its tamer and forcing them together entirely. What person could do something so horrid?
"Back away! No one without some sort of water proof armor can come forward. That monster can make other monsters with its body!" Clark felt that Crim was radiating even more dragon energy while keeping the armor form protective for Clark. If they were flooded with this crimson blood slime body, they could temporarily defend it.
Especially if Crim was able to create some dragon fire to burn away the body.
This was just part of it though, the mechanical golems and the dwarves were not safe. Clark could see the gaps in the piloted mechanical golems. They did not have any way to defend the slime body that would squeeze in to them and create monsters.
This would lead to a whole new war right here and right now. If the dwarves who did not have the mechanical golems to defend them were hit, then they would also become monsters. Smaller monsters, but also very dangerous to the last two remaining walls in front of the monsters.
There was also the pain of the dwarves needing to kill their own people. Especially as they watched them turn in to monsters. Something that would leave them with deep wounds if they managed to survive this new risk.
"Charge ahead and destroy that massive pile of goo!" The roar from behind them was led by a much larger golem squad. Their armors were different. Their mechanical golems were different.
"Clark, back off and let us handle this. The dwarfs have water proof armors." Jerold leaped over the body of a monster section. He was carrying a round ball of metal which focuses on it. In a swift motion he struck a match that the dwarves had given him and threw out the ball.
A mass of smoke spewed from the ball and Clark, along with the less defended dwarves began their retreat. They had been set up to retreat and let the new squad fight. It was a perfect timing as if they had been written in to fate like this.
"I got to the dwarves and told them everything. When they listened and trusted me, they began setting up their golems with rubber and a bunch of other things. They are going to handle that monster.
Clark looked over the retreat and saw that the dwarves were launching some explosive bolts at the slime body. It caused pieces of the slime infused with demonic blood potions to fall everywhere. The entire area had become a risk. If he had been there, he would have to focus on defending himself from the potion within the slime the entire time.
On top of this, Clark also saw that the rotating core within the crimson blood slime was being damaged slightly. The bolts could be pierced very far in to the monster without being stopped or deflected. This was all due to the immense force behind the metal strings made for the crossbow attachments. It was an amazing feat of forging that would put anyone in awe.
The monster that should have been the most dangerous was being reduced to nothing but a puddle. All thanks to Jerold racing the dwarves and sharing the proper information. All of this was possible because they had managed to make it there this time.
Adding even more to this, Clark sensed the walls shaking. The dwarves had prepared some of the partially damaged ballistas too. The monster was going to be falling sooner than later. Their joint efforts proving to be why they had managed to defend these last two walls so much more than the others.
"Let's go meet the commander then. It looks like the dwarves have this handheld." The explosion of multiple explosive bolts was all that Clark needed to hear. He didn't need to see the skeletal core shattering. He trusted that the dwarves had done more than defeated this monster. The torture it had been through could be put to rest.
