Spirit Taming

Chapter 730: Should Not Be

Chapter 730: Should Not Be

Brad reached the bottom of the sloped cavern floor. It was much darker on this third floor than what the first and the second had been. Yet, it was not showing as much yet. Instead, it seemed this was the only floor that was more open.

Before they could do anything to explore this floor, a solid ring came from Brad's shield. His possessed armaments had just helped him block the force of something hitting him. They had been targeted by some ranged attack.

'Dark slime chunk- uncommon

This is a piece of a dark slime body. They will sometimes throw parts of their body at the living things that come near them. That is how they can weaken them and consume them by absorbing them in to their body afterwards. It causes a decaying effect due to the potent dark energy within it.'

"Parts of a dark slime are being thrown at us. Watch out." This was the more normal side of a dungeon. They should be attacked by beasts and not monsters. But why was that the case?

Clark used his analysis on the shadows but couldn't find anything standing out. Whatever had just attacked them was still in the shadows. "Shy, see what you can do." He expected there to be cultists that could be grabbed on to. That was why Shy should throw out shadow threads. She could go fishing in essence.

When he found that Shy was at a loss, he wondered why. But then he noticed that it wasn't that she was at a loss, but that when she was sending out her shadow threads, they were not able to grasp anything. The things she hit with them, were not solid enough to drag away.

Crim seemed to sense something though. Crim was in all contexts, a dragon slime. Slime being an aspect of what he was. Even though he had become a celestial slime dragon,. He still could call out to other slimes with his senses to a degree.

He could sense that something that was also a slime was in the shadows. Nothing that would be giving off anything of warning. This was the third floor of the dungeon. It should have the last beast they knew living here, the dark slime.

"Light arrows up!" The elves decided to use the same method. This time though, the darkness was much more potent. Therefore, the light arrows were not the flashy arrows before. They were a light and fire arrow mixture made by both light and fire elves. These would burn creating a white light that illuminated the area entirely.

Twenty arrows were shot out in an instant. The bright white light that they gave off illuminated many of the cracks and crevices that this cavernous floor had. It also illuminated something that made everyone's stomach churn.

"False believers! You live as half of what you should be. Bring yourself to true completion by becoming one with your spirit beast. Become a true being!" the garbled worlds came from far off in the still slightly dark edge of the third floor.

From what everyone could see, the cultists had cut out the pillars and reinforced the cavern. Now there was not a single bit of evidence of what this cave had once been. Instead, it was filled with wall to wall experimental tables.

Each covered in different books, tools, and even human or elf body parts. That wasn't the disturbing thing though.

The disturbing thing was that the slimes ahead of them, had some of those body parts sticking out of them. Not because it was eating them, no, those body parts were moving. Mouths on heads moving as if trying to speak, but no sound coming out. Hands with fingers that clasped and opened over and over. Small slime tentacles attempting to wriggle off of the entire body.

Like it was trying to run from itself.

'Horrid dark slime- monster

This is a horrible abomination. It should never be. Even the slime that contains some of its natural instincts tried to break away from itself. Even if that means its death. This creature was forcefully fused together using a dark slime spirit beast and an elf that was born with that dark slime.

Since dark slimes can sense one another, the spirit beast guided its tamer here and witnessed an unfortunate adventurer getting consumed by a dark slime. The adventurer was still trying to escape and living as it was digested.

After experimenting with cursed demon blood, the spirit beast was forcefully fused with the elven tamer to create a ghastly hybrid of dark slime and elf. Over time, more humans, elves, and even other beasts were taken in and forcefully kept from decaying in the pursuit of becoming an even more perfect being.

The dark energy is powerful causing the mentality of those trapped within to become worse and worse. Since the elf that once had control of themselves had fallen even further after ingesting a full gallon of cursed demon blood, it is now beginning to run on a rampage.

The darkness energy is uncontrolled in its body causing even the slime body to begin to decay instead of being in balance. Due to this, it's slime is exceptionally dangerous. The core of the body has become the slowly decaying elves' hearts…'

There were many that wanted to vomit seeing this sight. There were cutlists that had attempted to fuse themselves with dark slime, and now were just part of the head cultists of this branch. Part of this horrible monster that should never have ever been.

"I authorize every use of force possible on this monster. Nature rejects this… Kill it!" Even the elf giving the orders for the attack had no words to describe the thing they were looking at. To be fair, Clark didn't even wish to be part of this any longer. He could only feel that he would see this image within his mind for years to come whenever he thought of the dark.

Without holding back, the elves released dozens of arrows as fast as possible. Some held fire energies in them which caused small portions of the large monster's body to burn up. But they seemed to be doing almost nothing when it came to the entirety of the slime.

"Brad, how close can you get to that?" Clark knew that he and Crim could do a lot. With the strength that they had, Clark could use the black lighting that the lunar storm spear could dish out. But more so, Crim could take his dragon form and breathe out a devastating dragon breath to burn up the body of this monster.

Feeling that Crim was already prepared for this, Clark knew exactly why this was. He was witnessing a slime that had been a partner to someone. The perfect partner that just wished to help their tamer. But instead, had been betrayed. Was not in exceptional pain. Pain that would never go away until it was released from life itself.

That was the true terror in all of this. The elf had gone so insane that they had lost the ability to sense that their closest partner did not wish to be turned in to some monster. Especially since the slime itself was still trying to break free of its own body so that it did not need to be apart of it.

As Clark moved, He felt Crim removing himself as the armor form and wrapping himself around Clark using him as his ride to the battle. When Brad came too near, whips of black slime tentacles slashed out at them. He easily defended against them but noticed that the dark slime left behind was harming the shield. Harming his possessed armaments.

His sword slashed through them ceasing the attacks for the moment. But the damage was done. "Clark, only another minute here." He knew that he would be unable to stay here taking infinite attacks from this beast. The unstable dark energy was causing too much damage.

"Fire arrows only!" Clark shouted out as he saw one of the hands of the monster grab an earth arrow and absorb it. The fire arrows were the only ones burning away the body fo this monster. They were the best possible option right now.

As the fire arrows were shot, Clakr heard the monster trying to speak again about how they should unite with their beasts. To become a real being and not some half being running around the unfinished world.

The words were concerning, however, Clark was already feeling the anger that Crim had now that he could see and sense the dark slime's feeling more clearly. He knew the amount of pain and suffering it had gone through since this had all happened to it.

A greater dragon energy than what Clark had felt from Crim before gathered. The fire arrows also appeared to be pulled towards him. Their flames being drawn in. A single snap came out of Crim's mouth as he widened his jaws. The following dragon breath caused the stone itself to begin melting. Crim had attacked with everything he had.
