Chapter 725: Merchant Relationships

Chapter 725: Merchant Relationships

'Breezy willow wood- ultra rare

This is a willow tree that requires two seeds to be grown together. A water drop willow and a wind swept willow. These two seeds are very unique in the essence that they will both use whatever available nutrients near them to grow. This causes them to take on slight affinities of other energies because they are too ravenous when they are in their sprouting stage.

Due to this, they perfectly balance one another and actually grow together when planted side by side. This discovery was a botanical achievement that was discovered through seventy years of experimentation and cataloging.

The wood has a balanced wind and water affinity ideal for creating unique arrows, channeling staves for beasts, and also armors that can resist water and wind, best for sailing.

When consumed by the right beast, this wood will greatly assist in the joining of wind and water energies. It can cause a growth in related skills or open a new enlightenment of how the two energies can work together.

Growing this tree requires a very strict care routine that equally adds the dust of water and wind energy crystals. Without a balance, the tree will shift to one side causing the balance to break. It can take only a few hours to entirely lose one energy or the other…'

More of the details below that were about the risk of creating something unbalanced if care was not taken. But that wasn't an issue since he knew that Ralph would not even attempt to create something with this until he had a better idea of how to do it. This was an ideal material to buy and have in his back pocket.

"Buy it, it will be useful for later. But you need to work harder to forge it. I doubt that you could find more of it anywhere but with the elves. Humans can't grow this tree." Ralph felt a little insulted that Clark had bluntly told him that he couldn't use this wood yet.

However, he was very glad to have asked. The blue and green intertwined wood had been something that caught his eyes as valuable. As useful. Therefore, it meant that he was getting better at judging materials he wanted to use. Especially when it came to the things that he would be able to sue later in life when he was an even better blacksmith.

As Clark handed the description of this wood to Ralph, Ralph's eyes nearly popped out of his head reading about how unique it was. The care he would need to forge with it would be immense. But beyond that, he was sure that he couldn't find something like this.

He could create an ax that could channel water and wind energy. Or he could use it as a handle for a dagger with matching affinities on the blade. The potential was there, but he also knew well that this would be an ideal weapon for Isa. she would be mixing the energies of her partners sooner than later.

If she were to have unique weapons that mixed the energies of her partners, then she would be able to to fight much more efficiently. The entire group also knew of how powerful beasts with fused energies were. They could create attacks that worked with half as much energy but double the amount of power.

Since Isa could allow her beasts to meld with her, she could use their energies in the same way. Having the winter witch use potent water energy in the form of ice energy, then boosting it even more with her youngest partners' wind energy could create a powerful blizzard that could freeze a large area without using too much energy from the winter witch that could naturally create a blizzard.

Ralph scooped up a few more different types of wood making the merchant behind the counter a little shocked. They were offering him a substantial pile of silver just for this wood. Things that the elves were used to having and seeing. Hell, the elves used these things every single day!

"We will be back once we establish a better relationship with your city. If you ever have the chance to travel, you will be welcome in the markets of Aphelion City. it's going to be the central city for all of the Universal alliance. Everyone is welcome regardless of race as long as the laws are followed." Ralph had not said something like this. But the merchant felt touched.

He had looked down on humans since the merchants that had come here whom he had dealt with, always tried to scam them. Tried to get the elves to give up more than they should. Tried to trick them. Yet here, was a young man that was willing to give even more than necessary just to be able to meet him again. It was sobering.

"I will do that. My daughter may make a trip like that when our matriarch allows travel again." The merchant gave a polite nod as the interesting humans left. Many elves that witnessed this were also shocked.

"How's the silk shopping? Anything you like?" Clark caught Maria as she was about to put away a swatch of fabric.

"We found some fabrics that we can use to commission appropriate robes for underneath some harder armor. That way we can have a better connection with energies. But they said that they have something called dragon spider silk. We wanted you to look at it in case you can use it." Maria's curiosity fell toward the three elf women running this stall.

They carried out a box with various magical formations on it. These carved runes protected the silk within.

"We have several different silks that are very hard to deal with. They will only be bought by a handful of people. Since you are guests we should show off the best, correct?" The woman in charge was smooth in her words. It was easy to see that she and Isa had already done a few rounds of negotiation.

When the chest of silks was opened, Clark should have focused on the fabrics related to dragon energy. Or he could have focused on the pure white fabric related to pure light energy. Instead, he caught himself focused on a gray fabric that seemed to shimmer with black flecks. It reminded him of Devi.

"Death bringer spider silk swatch. That's not something easy to get." All three women froze. They were sure they had misheard what Clark had just said. There was no way he had recognized silk from one of the rarest beasts there was within the forest of spiders.

'Death bringer spider silk swatch- legendary

This silk is from the deadliest of deadly spiders within the largest spider infested area of the elven domain. Only one of these spiders is able to live since it will consume all similar spiders that are born alongside it. This is because at the end of its life, it will lay eggs and perish in the process of laying them so that its body can be food for them.

The skeletal appearance of this beast allows for it to be seen a more dangerous. The death energy that it radiates besides darkness also causing things to die in its general area.

Due to this, the silk it produces will cause the trees it touched to perish. This causes its entire territory to become filled with death energy to allow the spider more comfort. It also means that the silk fabric made of this will cause death energy to attract or eat away at the one wearing it.

While a valuable material, it can also be used to make a cloak for a beast that has similar affinity with death energy. Some undead can even benefit from it since they will be closer to one aspect of their existence…'

"We will buy this entire box of fabrics. I am not showing off our wealth. I am sure that the fabric here will be very valuable to my beasts. Isa will negotiate with you. However, I also know the real value of these fabrics. If I see anything wrong…" Clark let a little energy seep out.

He could sense that Devi had noticed the interesting material sitting before Clark. Therefore, some death energy seeped out of Clark's body.

This led to a few of the nearby elves to be shocked and afraid. They knew that energy like that was nothing they could combat or that they wanted anything to do with. The human visitors had just become much more terrifying. "Ah, sorry. I got excited. I rarely find useful items for my spirit beast." Clark recovered from his sudden slip up.

He hadn't really wanted to scare them. Just make a small point that they were not to be cheated.

"Clark, stop scaring the business partner I have. Just worry about whatever is going through your mind. And my friends, we have plenty of silver coins from our human city. You are more than welcome to it. Well, a fair price of it." Isa smiled softly as she took control of the negotiations.
