Chapter 724: Casual Shopping

Chapter 724: Casual Shopping

The throng of elves that followed them were all whispering about Ralph taking down a literal magma golem with his bare hands. They had never seen humans that were able to do this. But even worse, they were gossiping right behind Ralph, literally!

His face showed his annoyance but he just kept walking the way they had come. Jasmine was glancing back from time to time even though her sister was nowhere to be seen. She had naturally lost the battle and rushed away to deal with her beasts.

What Jasmine couldn't stop thinking about was the swift strength that Ralph had used. It wasn't the same kind of domineering that Clark had around him, but still, it was a lot to witness. The elves she had met were nothing like that. They had to at least be a hundred years old to be anywhere near this.

"I think Ralph will have a fan club after this. A lot of them are elves that work with fire and earth energies." Isa teased a bit but got a harsh glare from grace. "Ooorrr, he will just have some respecting elf acquaintances that don't mean much to him at all since it's not forging." This seemed to appease Grace a bit.

It would seem that there had been a lot of Ralph's rough personality running off on her. Nito that it was a bad thing. She had been more shy than the rest of the group at one point.

"I think the earth elves and the wind elves are winning. I keep trying to move around without them noticing and they spot me instantly." Jerold's exasperation changed the subject as they entered the market again. A few of the other affinity elves were surprised to see him appearing out of nowhere. But it was very clear that the human group was used to this.

"You are trying too hard. Why not ask some of them how they are sensing you and what you can do to be a better scout. You might just need to look at it from their point of view. Nature will always see you in a way, right?" Maria's comment appeared to be making Jerold think a lot.

"I already made you armor that doesn't make much sound. But it does sway when you move. It would change the way air flows. You would need a seamstress of someone better to make you silent clothing." Hearing this, Jerold felt that Ralph was basically telling him he wouldn't be making armor for him any more.

"Then you should look for the spider silk merchants. They produce many fabrics and other items. The forest of spiders and arachnids within our home world is very good at producing spider silks with various affinities. Some have special patterns that even help hide in any surrounding.

There might be some that work with your chameleon." with Jasmine speaking up here, the group were able to find another thing they should look for.

Meanwhile, they finally made it back to the market, which was suddenly abuzz with elves. They had heard the spreading gossip and came to look at the humans making waves. While many gave them downward condescending looks, none of the group cared. It clearly made a point to those elves that they did not have the strength for them to be looked at.

Somewhat of an insult, but to be fair, the group did not participate within elven politics. They were here for a reason and they were just waiting for that reason to be prioritized. Eventually the matriarch would find something and ask them for help. They would then go hunting for cultists.

"This is what we need to look at." Ralph leaned over the stall. Many of the elves looking moved away since they weren't sure of the human group that had come here suddenly. "What is this? Actually, Clark, what are we buying?" he deferred to Clark since he knew that Clark was sure to buy something good regardless.

'Copper bark maple- rare

The copper bark maple only grows by consuming the metal energy of copper. This is rare because it must grow where there is also sunlight. This allows it to have the metal and the light affinities within it.

Various items can be made with it since it is softer than other metals. But where it shines is the fact that it can still burn. Certain fire type beasts can use this as fuel to create unique attacks or energies within their bodies.

However, the light and metal type beasts that consume this will be able to strengthen their skin, scales, or fur closer to copper than what it was before consuming larger amounts of this wound…'

Flipped birch- rare

The flipped birch is a birch tree that grows upside down. This is due to it filtering out the metal energies and particles from the desert atoms from the treeline that it normally grows on. Oit is rare because the exposed roots normally become easily damaged. But that is not the thing that makes them perish most often.

Many beasts will attempt to consume them to gather the metal particles that the tree absorbs.

The wood that grows beneath the ground gains a range of metal typing of whatever metal particles it has absorbed from the sandstorms. It is more common that various types of metal energies and metal fuse together creating unknown alloys that are studied by blacksmiths.'

While the first option was interesting, the second was much more interesting. He pointed to it and explained to Ralph the value of it. A worthwhile item for Ralph to use in experimentation while treating his other techniques. But also so that he could train himself better to be able to identify what metals had been making up this tree's nutrients.

'Rusting mahogany- ultra rare

The unique water and iron energy within the rusting mahogany is considered ultra rare. It is both in a cycle of rusting but also reabsorption. This is due to the added water typing of the metal energy within the tree.

Some of the lifespan of this tree is spent in a rusted state. The bark literally building up with a great deal of issue since it easily scrapes and harms anything that walked near it. However, it can shed its bark during a growth period and show off the iron like wood. Its dull gray color added to the fact that it easily and greatly absorbed the iron in its environment.

Furthermore, it is very valuable for forging since it is heat resistant. Many of those blacksmiths making their own tools will use this wood as the handle for the ri tools….'

"That's the best one for you. Since you intend to make yourself a better tool set." Clark carefully explained the benefits while he watched the gears on Ralph's head turn. He hadn't even noticed that the others had gone to the massive fabric stall nearby. They were interested in what Jerold might be able to find.

His eyes drifted over some of the spider silk cloth. He was surprised to see a wide variety that could not be found anywhere else.

'Arora spider silk fabric- rare

From an aurora spider, light and ice affinity, this silk is extremely hard to create. Due to the higher level of fabric making, this fabric is considered one that takes at least seventy years to create flawlessly.

While it is very useful for cold resistance, it is better used to boost the strength of ice beasts. They will be able to better channel their ice type energies when wearing this. While the light and ice type beasts that use this will find it ideal for them.

Making clothing out if this requires…'

'Ebony archne silk fabric- ultra rare

The arachne are a species of beast and a race once considered a monster. They have the spider half of their body and often the humanoid half. They will create silk and sell it to many races if they are on good terms with them. However, they are often aggressive.

This ebony silk cloth is able to channel the darkness energies around it to help blend in to the night time when dark energy is at the strongest. Because of this, many people will use this fabric for night hunting. But it can be very valuable to generally learning to use darkness energy with a beast.

Simply, the darkness energy is naturally attracted to this fabric…'

These were also very good items. Things that the party would be unable to get just here and there. Especially since they would need to go to the elven world to find these spiders or arachnids. Well, the Arachne are a side since they might live somewhere else. Not that it was a worry that the group wouldn't be able to get these things.

"What about this one, it's two twisted branches of some blue and green wood?" Ralph nudged Clark to get his focus back. He snapped to the stall and began gathering a multitude of branches that Ralph could use or the others could use. The more they had the better if they would end up making things in the forge with them.
