Chapter 705: Pointed Arrows
Chapter 705: Pointed Arrows
Finding that they had coincidentally joined up with people that Clark knew, the rest of the group fell in to walking formation. They kept an eye out for any dangers as Clark Walked next to Jasmine.
From what he could tell, she was not happy to have been put in to this situation. Not only had she just been at risk of dying, she also found that she had learned information that put her entire home city in danger.
This all meant that the lives of many elves could be at stake. They had not even known it for the most part. Simply that they were facing a threat that was destroying nature more and more.
But now, the monsters had a source. A worse source than some randomly occurring monsters of other natural event of sorts. It wasn't even from some messed up dungeon that they had yet to find. It would have been easier to deal with a threat like that then to have to handle the blood moon cult.
Making it all much worse, the person that had arrived to tell them this horrible news and rescue them from a monster, was the scary young human that they had faced before.
It was much easier to expect that the person they found in a dungeon would be from far away. That they had met and would not have a single possible chance in all of existence to run in to one another yet again.
However, here they were. Walking side by side. The person had even brought a group with him. And they weren't weak!
"Your golems will be able to heal much faster if you have them rest in the dirt when we get back.
You should know that though, but you most likely do not know that if you cover them in dirt then place earth crystals in the shape you wish them to build a body, that they will do so at a much faster rate." Clark casually mentioned this to the guards whose golems had been injured by the monster that they had faced.
The golem's bodies had been harmed significantly. Luckily, like all golems, if the core was left unharmed, they could rebuild a body. Doing so was even simpler for a purer earth affinity golem compared to a more complicated golem like a metal related golem or dual affinity golem.
This wasn't the best option for strength though. The golems with dual affinities could cover more weaknesses and often have more versatility. With the elves, that was a massive boon since they focused on nature. Their fighting style revolving around using their beast's energies to assist them.
Therefore, an archer with a dual elemental golem could have that golem create two types of arrows which would make them a very much stronger fighter. Not that this was the main focus of everything.
"The city will be just up ahead. The patrol area has grown. We will encounter the main guard force soon." This was more of a heads up from Jasmine. But she also hoped that they would be able to take back their higher standing against these humans.
Especially since the dragon energies coming from Clark were much higher than what they had been the last time they had encountered him. "That's good. It means we can speak with your matriarch much faster. From what we know, the elves have a single elder that takes the lead for the council within the city. So, we will speak with your current matriarch."
This was surprising to the elves. They had not expected that the humans were well versed in their culture. Not that they thought the humans were clueless, but the elves had not invested much time in generally knowing humans since they were not a race that was spreading out to other worlds yet. Therefore, it seemed a little foolish.
"I can't bring you to her right away. The guards won't do that either-"
"Halt your movements! You are approaching territory that is forbidden to travelers. Slowly raise your hands and release the hostages you have taken." The shout came from the tall grass as ten elves with carved green armors stood up. Bows with various elemental energy arrows focused on them.
"We do not have hostages. We rescued these elves from a monster that was destroying the plains. We have information about an artificial beast wave and also the blood moon's cult-"
"Follow our orders or we will let our arrows loose!" Ella clenched her fists. She hated that they were not listening to her calm and logical explanation.
"You have ten seconds to follow our directives!" The elves guarding this area seemed to be too foolish to listen.
It made Ella angry. Which was a rarity.
"Ella, you don't have to…" Isa looked away after trailing off. She already saw Ella making a move.
Before anyone could do anything, a mist covered the area and the spiritual energy radically changed. The next thing that the group knew, the guard elves who had been watching this area for threats were dropping their bows and mumbling odd things.
"And that's the spirit infant making illusions with the cloud sprites help." Isa sighed. She felt that this situation was overall just odd. All around, just odd. But to be fair, they had been the pens to cut Ella off from speaking which was just rude to say the least.
"Ella, can you let them go? I think they will see that they shouldn't ignore you when you speak." Maria was a little less forceful and more calm and kind in her tone. It was enough to make Ella call back the cloud spire and the spirit infant that had been called out in an instant just a moment ago.
The sudden change made the guards stop and look around. Their shock and confusion evident. "As I was saying, take us to your matriarch. We are here to help you with your monster problems and form an alliance.
If you do not do so, we will be forced to find guards that have the strength to handle this matter." Ella spoke with a bit of force, however, the blue flame skeleton and earth prince appeared beside her as well.
The four beasts making it very clear that she could easily beat them. She had taken a note from Clark's book in the intimidation game. Not that it was for a bad reason. Clearly, these elves were not willing to listen to reason and would have preferred just to attack or arrest them a moment ago.
Finding their bearings, the guards rushed to grab their bows. However, this time they found Jasmine's guards grabbing some of their hands and Jasmine standing before them. She quickly explained the situation and how they would need to call for their captain so that things could progress.
While the group watched this happen, they took in the armors and the surprising lack of beasts with these guards. From what they had experienced, the guards would have armors that helped to boost their elemental energy focuses. This was to allow them to use better arrows or to generally match their beast's strengths.
However, the fact that Clark couldn't find their beasts was uprising. It meant that they had their beasts further away, or they didn't have them with them at all. A very odd occurrence.
"Where are your beasts? You are weaker without them, right? That's why you didn't create elemental arrows right away even with Jasmine holding you back using her family name and affiliation."
Hearing Clark's question caught them off guard. They had not imagined that the leader of this human group would be worried about this. Nor, did they think that they would be asked to explain their actions to someone that should normally be weaker than them.
Ewing that they weren't answering, Clark decided to ignore them until their captain arrived. But from here on out, he was fine with whatever happened. The elves were going to make or break themselves here. But Clark would prefer that the Universal alliance gained another ally, not an enemy.
While he and his group stood still, he recalled that he had a quest completed.
'Emergency quest: familiar faces in trouble.
Requirement: rescue those in danger.
Reward: five rare gacha tickets, one ultra rare gacha ticket.'
Knowing the system, the fact that the rewards were so good for defeating a weaker monster, Clark felt that jasmine must be a little more important than what he knew.
He wasn't unhappy with this. He could use this to his advantage. The system might give him a few more quests while he was around her. If that was the case, he could possibly get more rare gacha tickets.
The spooning wheels right now would give him some decent rewards that he should be able to use to help the group and himself. It might also give him a new skill or other amazing thing. He just needed to wait and use this time wisely.
