Spirit Taming

Chapter 674: Explosive Unbalance

Chapter 674: Explosive Unbalance

The fire energy was clearly not at all stable within the body of the monster. The blood had been the very thing that forced the beast and tamer together. But whatever it was caused this unstable reaction.

There was also the fact that the fire type energy within the beast was mixing with the unstable blood. It was enhancing the energies that the dragon blood within the draconic flame salamander had brought to this mix and mash.

The tamer side had just added more emotions and enhanced the energy concentration by burning away the bond that had held the two in balance before. These two facts had brought the tantrum to a much worse state than what it had even intended.

The monster had just experienced pain. While the human side had felt pain, it had never felt pain like this. The beast had been spoiled and allowed to have whatever it wanted a sling as it was strong. That meant it also had no idea how to handle pain.

The two sides coming together with this unknown feeling while in a tantrum caused the fire energy that would have naturally been controlled to not harm itself if this was a beast, was not controlled at all due to this reaction.

Clark saw the scales breaking away under their own massive load of fire energies. Devi had just helped Clark by melding together using the spirit drive skill which greatly increased the energy that they could use. It was a massive boost, but it had brought them closer to his new danger.

Clark found himself suddenly grasped in the clawed hand of the monster. Its scales melting away and the sizzling of Crim's celestial slime armor form all he could understand. A desperate discharge of black lighting was used to make the lizard monster release him, but the desperate pained grasp still held him. Even when he began to slash away at the muscles and arm entirely.

The what only grew, but Clark couldn't be concerned by the sudden change in his skin. Nor the smell of his skin being burned. It wasn't important enough when he had to consider his life.

Even with Shy using her shadow threads and throwing away the last puppet she had taken control of, Clark was held tight. His breathing even became hard as he could sense that all the energy that he had was not enough to break through the bones of the monster that grasped him with the entire attempt to take him with it as its own unstable energy exploded outward.

There was only regret as Clark began to understand that he had failed here. He was about to die as this monster killed itself. He wouldn't be around to finish cleaning up Nova City. he wouldn't be there to handle the growth of the future while taking down the blood moon cultist for once and for all.

"I leave you for just a short while and you get in a fight with a monster!" The roared out sentence was full of anger and worry. But it also matched the vicious assault of dagger slashes using full weight. The additional serrated tentacles and attacked from the shadows only could belong to one person.

"Maria!...jus-just get aw-awayy." Clark tried his best to tell her to leave. But he couldn't seem to get through to her. She was attacking the arm holding him as more scales melted away and the energy within the chest of the monster gathered even more.

When another beast appeared with large wings and unique patterns, Clark understood that the cocoon had hatched. But he also felt a unique control of fire energy take over the area. It wasn't enough to stop the defeat of this monster, but it clearly was buying time for Maria to attack the bones. Of the monster that grasped Clark with the intent to kill.

As she raised her daggers again, there was a crip shattering and whining sound of metal. Her daggers had shattered on contact with the bone. Only a few shards left behind within the arm bones. It was enough to make anyone else quit. Not Maria though, she leaped up and swung down with a heavy kick.

The matching sounds of breaking made Clark close his eyes before he fell to the ground. The damage to Crim's armor form clear. The loss of the spirit drive skill form gone as Devi had exhausted too much energy. Before Clark could even try to get up, shadow threads grabbed him and dragged him away before covering him entirely.

He felt the hands of Maria latched on to him before a massive burst of energy blew away the shadow threads.

Shy had managed to pull the pair away but also used all of her energy to resist the insane mass of uncontrolled fire type energy coming at them. The energy still burned them all since it was causing the entire area to become much hotter while dissipating. But the sheer force of it had been defended against.

It was also why Shy collapsed unconscious and Clark could only will her to return to the edens end taming space to heal.

While still in pain, Clark used all his strength to look at Crim who had taken his dragon form showing off the natural slime dragon form he had instead of the form he normally took that better mimicked a normal young dragon. But his size had greatly lessened. He would need to gather a lot of energy and eat a lot to replenish his slime.

When it came to Devi, he was barely able to float, Clark forced both him and Crim to the taming space to heal and rest as well. He wasn't having them hurt and tired. They could get killed if there were more enemies nearby.

Meanwhile, he saw the burns and the broken leg that Maria had gained from her last attack. She had literally harmed herself to free him enough so that they could be safe. The midnight eel already floating around with some burns, but defending the pair of them. Lit acting strong enough to heal whatever she could. And the newest partner, already gone back to Maria's taming space.

"You should have run. That would have been safer." Clark admonished Maria with a small smile. Her focus on him not stopping as she slowly shook her head side to side.

"When they started to eat whatever was in those vials, I knew that it was bad where you were. I couldn't just leave you to die." it was a sixth sense in a way. Maria cared for Clark a lot. More than she let everyone see. Especially him. But when she noticed the Mourne family forces using items to become monsters in physical form and not just their actions, she knew that it was the worst case scenario.

"That was your older brother. The thing that couldn't control its energy." Clark broke the silence between them. It wasn't a massive revelation for Maria. She had already assumed the worst.

"I'm glad I wasn't loved by them then. I would be a monster too." There was a deep fear within her. What if she had been cared for? What if she had been made in to something brutal and evil like that? She could have been a member of the blood moon cult causing death everywhere she went.

"I'm glad you didn't. I know you suffered, but it's going to be over now. General Mane should be fighting the monster your father became. I doubt he is human any longer." The two glanced toward the massive waves of energy just outside the city. They could sense the brutal battle going on. Everyone could.

Even as the monsters lost control of themselves and were killed by the righteous forces, the massive battle just outside the city was not slowing down. The average citizen of Nova City could sense the danger. Could feel that if there was a loss, that they would be the next to die as well.

"Really! We rushed here and you two are worse than ever!" Ella was distraught. She rarely showed this much emotion. "I had to handle so many people rushing around. I even defended the things that came to the school. But you two didn't even use your brains.

You rushed in to the fight and were hurt so bad you two can't even get up!"

Her reprimands only kept going on more and more as she used healing potions and bandages to help the pair. Neither Clark nor Maria could dare say a word against her. She had been the one to handle so much on her own with her beasts. She had managed to repel any attempts to go after the academy grounds as everyone else spread out. Naturally, it was fair that she yelled at them.

Unfortunately, as she tended to their wounds, Ella couldn't help but feel more and more stressed. It wasn't just the fact that some of the group had been harmed. It was the fact that the battle outside the city was growing worse. She could sense it in the air.
