Chapter 662: Bring Forth Change
Chapter 662: Bring Forth Change
"What do you mean that I should be fighting. My green snake isn't a beast that can fight. It doesn't even have a proper body to move like a snake!" The student that spoke was arguing with Clark.
Originally, he had been dragged by another friend toward the vault. This had made a small scene, but the pair was clearly caring for what the entire group was meaning to do. They wanted to be treated better.
"Listen to him. He might be a first year, but you just saw him cure that blistering pig from its pain. Now it can be the acid skin swine it should be!" The girl speaking was the friend in question. She had been the one to pull the boy along with her. This was when she had witnessed an ill beast be treated and return to peak shape in minutes.
This had not been the only instance that this had happened. Because many of the powerful families had gained too much power within Nova City and the academy as a whole, the weaker students had suffered. This led to illnesses with their beasts or the students themselves. That was why so many had immediately decided to join the rebellion. To stop others from suffering the pain that they always felt.
"You might want to listen to your friend. She is right. Plus, her bubble frog is already able to help many people heal. The saliva that it is able to expel has healing properties. All it needs to do is hold some herbs in the pouch under its tongue." Clark saw that Reese was already handing over the herbs. He had heard every word and been quick as ever.
"How? How can I fight anything? I am not a fighter. My partner and I are theorists. That's all we were allowed." The tone was dark. Clear damage had been done at the very core of this boy's mentality showed in his beast as well.
"Well, first of all, your beast is not a green snake. Because you were bullied in to believing that and both you and your partner did not look past that, both of you suffered. You have a build up of poison and water energies within your body. That makes you so pale. It is also what will kill you. Luckily, you aren't being beaten down any more.
So we can fix that."
"And your beast, well, it is not a snake. Those growths should have burst by now. But because neither of you have the will to make that happen, your beast grew and remained in a weaker and weaker state losing its mobility. If someone had actually paid attention, well, you would be pretty high up on the student ranking by now. I will show you what I mean."
Clark had already looked at the misshapen green snake. Or so it was being called. The lumps on its body were large. They stopped it from moving. They also looked raw as if they had been causing the outer skin to become more and more damaged as time went on. This was all because of the pressure.
What Clark saw was much more than the boy or his friend could see.
'Youngling hydra- ultra rare
Die to the odd growth of the hydra species, this species of hydra began life looking like a green serpent. It grows more body parts which would normally burst out of the skin as it grew. However, due to the abuse of others and the lack of proper energy flow through its bonds with its tamer, it wasn't able to do so.
This lag in growth caused it to grow painful tumors. These are actually pouches that should have ruptured and allows its legs to burst out. Along with multiple heads base dont he strength of the energies that it has flowing through it's bond with its tamer.
Each head will have either a poison or water affinity to match the green hydra species. While extremely rare, hydras manifest within many reptilian species. The ancient hydra bloodline making even the weakest that possess it change their species entirely to become a hydra or at least a multi headed serpent.
The regenerative abilities it has will require large amounts of water and poison energy due to tis affinities. Therefore, it can often regenerate as long as its heart and those energies are available to it. This will make it an extremely powerful beast that may grow more heads over time. Very few have the sting enough bloodline to grow two heads when one is cut off. This is not one of those beasts.
If it possessed that strength, it would be considered a legendary existence…'
"Watch closely." Clark brandished a knife from one of the shelves nearby. Before the boy could stop him or the youngling hydra could react, Clark had already slashed open every single mark where the tumors had been pushing in to the skin.
While the boy eventually leaped toward his partner, he suddenly felt a change. Energy flowing as it should. He also could not sense a single bit of pain from his partner. Instead, only relief.
As a cracking of joints and stretching skin sounds were made, four clawed legs took their proper position. This was met with two more hissing heads. The hissing was naturally sounds of joy as the tamer and beast realized that they hadn't even known each other, let alone themselves.
"Looks like you managed to help some of the most troubled young tamers around. It's good, they can join in their fight to stand as equals too. But right now, you need to lead your own charge." Clara came back to meet Clark after leaving. She had managed to organize students as they had finished their own efforts to grow stronger at the last moment.
Before the boy and girl could say a word to Clark, they noticed him leaving. They also noticed crim leaving the taming space and taking on the celestial slime armor from. The intimidating dragon energies causing the air to tremble.
Everyone knew that Clark and the group that had gone to the tournaments was powerful. It was easy as listening to the rumors and stories. No matter how oppressed they were by the Mourne family.
Yet, now that every student gathered together saw it, they believed much more. Their eyes only became more full of determination as the rest of the group took places in front of their grouped together forces.
Even guards from the academy and professors felt that they were not strong enough to stand next to the students that had not even finished a proper first year in the academy. They truly believed that they had been blessed to witness an era of genius growth.
"Listen closely! Today is the start of a new era. When we are victorious, allies from all cities will come to help rebuild. Alliances founded on equality and honesty will be allowed to bloom for th first time in years. As such, I renounce my name. I will no longer be one of the big families.
No longer a Mane family daughter." gasps echoed as Clara stood taller and motioned for Clark to speak next. He hadn't expected this, but it was right. It felt right.
"Clara Mane, the woman who helped me after my parents and the young beast they had gotten for me were burned alive by a reckless Mourne family young master. She might have tossed aside her last name, but she is a savior."
"Ralph, the blacksmith that broke the mold. A child from the streets who wishes no child to live in the alleys."
"Ella, the locked away genius researcher who just needed to be shown a wider world."
"Isa, the merchant extraordinaire that wished to explore every single aspect of fair trade and business."
"Reese, a man showing the world swordplay that his family has held dear for more years than he can count."
"Brad, the lazy Genius who can grow in to an impenetrable wall to protect all he cares from."
"Grace, willing to give everything and everything for the things she loves. For the people she loves."
"Jerold, once lost and now found. Has grown beyond what any ever expected of him. Now he stands tall against the oppressors that once threatened him."
"Maria Mourne. Scorned for her weakness in the Mourne family and treated as garbage. Even surviving assassination attempts by her own family. Threw aside her name and was given a new name by powerful allies who wish to see a new age of clarity."
"We all lead you so that we may all stand on equal grounds. Let our hard work gain us merits. Let that decide our future. Not our family names." a pause felt heavier than any words that Clark could say. But he smiled here. A determined and unbridled smile.
"I too, let my family name, Stormewood, burn with my parents so that they may see me reborn anew after this battle. Join me. Stand with me. Pave a new future with me. When we are done, we will see a generation of brilliant light. Look to my family in front of you for their shoulders to lean on.
Look to the elders who gave us the chance to take this path."
"Will you walk it with me?" The question rang like a bell. Striking their very souls. Many had wished for a day like this. Many had cursed their bad luck. That changed now. With a resounding roar, every student, guard, and professor here now showed their desires for a future.
"Then we move!" Clark raised his spear and roared at the sky before looking at Clara to point him toward his target.
